The FG Awards 2018

Date: 24th November Where: Arcade Club, Manchester, UK I'm extremely happy and proud to announce the inaugural Forever Gaming Awards evening will take place in the largest European Arcade Club in Manchester, United Kingdom on the 24th November. I want us to make this a really special day and get together for as many FGers as we possibly can. Plan is to enjoy a fun packed day of 3 floors of games from 12pm and then kick off the ceremony at 7pm at a reserved spot in the Arcade Club. Accommodation I have found the Travelodge we stayed at before for an amazing ยฃ52 for 2 staying together. Travelodge - Bury Arcade Club Entry Its currently ยฃ15 for a day pass to whole place. With the beer AND food served at a ridiculously low price this is a pretty amazing price. So all in all, its ยฃ31 plus your travel petrol to come for a day and night with the best FGers in town. Non-UK FGers Well, get a flight and come over! Honestly, I understand if you can't though so we're gonna do our best to get a live stream going for most of the night so you can join us all. Who knows, maybe another we can do an awards evening in a country over the seas! I really mean this - I want to make this our biggest event we've had. All your families and partners are welcome. It will be something big, huge, never done before for us here and we'll make it incredible I'm sure. Now we've got the venue, the date, the awards, lets hear the roll call below people!!! I've been doing the commercial insurance broker since January. Not my cup of tea. Used to work an an underwriter for an insurance company. The company is actually from the UK Aviva. I'm going to make the transition to a residential/commercial painter. My buddy has a 1 man company and needs a partner. I definitely hate being stuck behind a desk. It gets bloody boring. I want to work with my hands. I understand marketing and networking. He understands painting. We're going to put our brains together and get this accomplished. Got my first job on Monday. I'm calling in sick at my brokerage lol.1 point -

I got 1 exotic. It was a warlock gauntlet from Foresaken. Wasn't good enough to keep. Infused it into something else. I heard that if you have fireteam medallionx3 it would help with your drops. I know someone who got three to drop in one night doing that route. I want to try that tonight.1 point -

Definitely, I'm actually exploring the Apprenticeship route too as there's a couple in my area so I've applied for them. It's a small paycut from my current job but the apprenticeship lasts a year and if its a way of getting your foot in the door in the industry, then hey, it's worth that Sent from my SM-G965F using Tapatalk1 point -

For optimum fun, no one should look up anything raid related. Nor should they watch yt videos or twitch streams on it. Going in blind for the first time with five other friends is some of the best fun you will have in all of your video gaming lives. Even if you aren't high enough light to complete it until a week or two from now, it's worth it.1 point -

Just a note to the Destiny FGers. Gonna try and spend some time putting up some separate threads up about lots of different activities in the Dreaming City as I think many won't have touched the surface (including me) and it may help all of us look through and find some things to do to party up with other FGers. Was gonna put it in its own sub-forum within Destiny but equally can leave the multiple threadsin here. Just lemme know what works for you guys. Cheers1 point -
Blackout Beta September 10th
Dan94 reacted to J4MES OX4D for a topic
BR has been around for over 5 years. It may be 'new' to some users but in terms of the wider market, it's a very saturated genre and Blackout is coming in almost at last-knockings. I wasn't expecting much as this game mode has only been in development since this year (cough cough cash grab cough) but even so, I would've expected a bit more in terms of personality, functionality and features considering the budget on these games and the omission of a campaign. PUBG is supposed to replicate more realistic elements - more ARMA than COD/Halo. The mechanics work very well with a keyboard and mouse as they were originally optimised for. COD is arcade, heavily aim-assisted and bullet physics along with recoil is absolutely minimal. Many users who enjoy the challenge that the likes of PUBG brings may not find Blackout very satisfying with more simplified aspects in place.1 point -
I think it's a brilliant strategy. Why not use old maps? This map is enormous there's plenty of room for original setups. I'd actually be disappointed if they didn't take advantage of these huge maps to bring some nostalgia into the game. Give us some areas we're really comfortable with and some new ones to learn1 point

I'm surprised to see all of these reactions honestly. I guess that's because barely anyone here plays PUBG. I have near 1500 hours into PUBG, along with my squad who have around the same amount of time dedicated. We've been able to keep a top 300 worldwide ranking for months. Got as low as 125 in the world, so you can say we take it pretty seriously. We've all been watching a ton of Blackout streams and we're all buying the game and really looking forward to it. Most of the streamers are all saying how much they love the game and they're not even console players. COD didn't revolutionize BR by any stretch but what do you really expect? BR is like 1 years old and they added a number of things to the game that will make BR even more fun (the perks, the grappling hook, etc). I had very little expectations of either COD or Battlefield making a game that could compete with PUBG but I think COD has nailed it. BF5......not so much. You can say that this is just a more arcade and cartoony version of PUBG but I think it fixes a major issue with PUBG with it's incredibly unathletic gameplay. The movement in PUBG is terrible and coming from a Halo/COD background I can't wait to be able to play a BR game where I can use all those quick-reaction skills (jump turns, drop shots, slides, etc). I dunno, we're pretty pumped about it1 point

Does anyone work in Web Development / Design? I've decided at the grand old age of 24 that I want to pursue a career that I would enjoy and want to do as a proper career, and not just stuck in a job that I don't enjoy; so I've started doing a course on Udemy (training course website) in my spare time to learn HTML, CSS and JavaScript then hopefully get my foot in somewhere as a Web Developer.1 point -

(Hopefully) done with all that work cr@p! Took early retirement 2 years ago almost to the day. Used to be a plumbing estimating and design engineer but now Iโm part of the green keeping team at my bowls club. No grand kids yet and Mrs P still works part time so works well for a bit of daytime gaming as well! ๐ Anyone who says retirement is boring is talking out of their jacksie ....I mean, every day is a bank holiday, whatโsnot to love? ๐๐ Right, letโs get the olโ PS4 fired up.......1 point
