I watched it a few days ago too and honestly its a run of the mill, easy watching, action film. Nothing too crazy, although McGregor in parts is hilarious so its worth 6-7 out of 10. Never watched the original, probably should now but I enjoyed this one nonetheless.

Yeah not watched the original but may try to find it on a streaming service. Also just watched the gentlemen series on Netflix and thought it was very good, glad they didn’t try to carry it on from the film but have adapted it to be based on that sort of world.

Both are on Amazon.

This classic

Top tier film, 1 of his best.

Probably is my favourite one of his.

So I have just watched the recent Beverly hills cop film, generally I would say it's not a fantastic film however I love the 80s film era and watching this really struck some of the right notes.

So yeah, I would give it a 7 maybe a 7.5 / 10 but it really made me miss those sorts of films, the number of times I sat up on a Friday night when I was young watching the likes of Mel Gibson, Arnie & Eddie Murphy, fond memories 🙂

Watched Christopher Robin with the GF yesterday, have to say I enjoyed it 😂

Not my normal cup of tea but it did have a nice animation style and story.

Would recommend if you have children as well.

Rewatched The Intern and then Notting Hill again for the 537th time.

I thought The Intern was only a few years old as it feels a fresh happy film...but Tom helped me realise its actually 9 years old. Man....

Went to see Joker Folie a Deux last week. It was a good film, but definitely nowhere near as good as the first film. If you dont like musicals I don't think you would enjoy it as there are quite a few songs spread throughout the film, but the way they are used works. The ending was definitely not expected and in my opinion wasn't the best way to end it. If you watched the first one would recommend giving it a watch when it comes to streaming services.

I just can't bring myself to watch them both. Don't like the style in the way they seem to be made and now you've mentioned musicals, I know I'd really struggle with it unfortunately.

Had a fair few flight hours so got through a few films I'd either not yet seen or revisted:

Fallen: Really good cop whodunnit/thriller type - 8/10
Joker: Lost interest the first time I watched it, gave it another go, the second half of the film makes the first all the more worthwhile - 8/10
Drive: Lost interest in this the first time around as it was just an arty farty load of rubbish, same again this time, turned it off after an hour.
Alien (1979) Director's cut: Was really getting in to it when we touched down, will definitely have to finish it. Never seen it before and i suspect this is the start of a rather long Alien marathon for me 😛

Over Christmas we've managed to watch a flurry of films as a family. Red One, Home Alone 2, The Grinch, Godzilla x Kong The New Empire, Super Mario Bros, Remember the Titans and Dungeons & Dragons.

Red One was a really good family watch, much better than expected. I got Yara to watch Dungeons & Dragons with me and she really enjoyed it which great to see as I love that film. First time i've watched Godzilla x Kong as Dax wanted me to watch it (he watched it at the Cinema) as he loves Godzilla. Must admit, easy watch and if you love the monsters more than any backstory, it is definitely the right one to watch. Good sequel I'd say.

I’m glad other people enjoyed it — just wasn’t for me. I much preferred the finale of Gavin & Stacey.
