    Just been watching a bit of the opening ceremony. I see Susan Boyle has finally got rid of that moustache and Amy MacDonald has a cracking arse in leathers. Also Dylan is on Steam playing games instead of watching/performing in the show. Disgusted.

    They seriously need to loosen the fucking controls in FIFA 15. It felt like I was controlling some cumbersome fatties in slow motion last year. The refs are shit, the team AI needs drastic improvements and there is too many glitches or scrappy moments. All this emotional bollocks can fuck right off - gameplay matters more and EA Sports need to sort it out this time around. Oh and PES looks hillariously bad yet again so FIFA better be more than just the usual few changes. I can't wait another 5-6 years for a massive overhaul. The Ignite Engine is a bit iffy IMO.

    BF4's Final Stand DLC has now been pushed back until Xmas which makes sense also. I couldn't see them squeezing it in before October in timely fashion. ^I don't actually know anyone that's preordered the game but I bet a fair few who did and promptly cancelled that today

    ******Shocking News******* EA has delayed Battlefield Hardline until early 2015 I'm not massively interested in this game in all honesty, mainly due to the concept and price but it's mildly encouraging to see EA having the bollocks to push the game back based on Visceral's beta feedback. If they release it around March time; we may get a playable game off the bat. They will also stand a chance of selling more copies in what is considered a quieter time of the gaming calendar plus they won't have to compete and ultimately lose to the new Call of Duty regardless of how good their game is. I thought this game was fun in the beta but probably not worth the money. The digital deluxe edition is £59.99 as a download whereas I paid £34.99 for the deluxe Battlefield 4 physical copy. Also tax has been raised on digital downloads in the UK and EA have stopped doing physical copies of games on PC. The concept also doesn't push the Frostbite 3 engine further and actually limits the scale leaving it watered-down and not a considerable step forwards, certainly compared to other titles on the horizon. I think it's a wise and essential move by EA to restore some confidence especially if the game isn't of an acceptable standard come October but they'll probably get slated for this move too Also EA have pushed back Dragon Age Inquisition back to 2015 too.

    Even though I'm from the UK; I prefer to drive on the right side thanks mostly to growing up with the likes of GTA The one gripe I have with ETS2 and it's pretty minor is just the copy and pasted cities. ATS looks much better and hopefully they'll capture the inner cities as accurately as possible even if they are slightly scaled down.

    Barebones better be in AW! Just let the guns do the talking in peaceful matches without players doing well and then getting rewarded further. The Ghosts killstreaks weren't memorable in the slightest and ones like the attack dog and juggernaut were just so OP. Also the field orders gave a player a stupid advantage for the sake of 1 kill and a basic challenge such as teabagging the enemy. It's worse on the DLC maps particuarly on the likes of Favela where you can pretty much earn a AC130 in the first 30 seconds. I hope there is greater emphasis on the exo suits in place of the perk system as opposed to killstreak reliance too.

    The problem is with this K/D mentality of a portion within the community; the SPM score has somewhat gone over people's heads and they don't realise its value in a player or what it means. I like how Treyarch did the combat record in Black Ops 2 as it demonstrated all the key stats Sadly K/D is one of those stats that always has more value in peoples eyes.

    W/L is the only thing that really matters in terms of stats if people really want to into the nitty-gritty about players' abilities. COD is all about the K/D 'image' because of the attitude of a large part of the community. The feature is pretty useless seeing it can be manipulated by dashboarding and influenced by rage quitting. I remember the days of Black Ops when you'd see someone with a 5.54 K/D and 0.13 W/L ratio. If kills were the only thing that was displayed; people would happily go 43-39 with an offensive and care-free approach but the stereotypical K/D whore that was born in COD would rather sit in a corner for the sake of a few numbers and a decimal point. SPM is also a good stat for consistent scoring players although it can be mode-dependent if you play more SnD as opposed to games with a higher pace and greater opportunity of point scoring in a specific time. Sadly as so many people pride themselves on K/D because it's the 'cool' thing about COD; I don't think it will ever be removed but I think for players profiles; the attribute should be masked to just kills on record. You could also select if you want your K/D visible but only to friends or something. I also hope prestige mode gets removed; that just means someone who's played the game more than someone else.

    I bought Euro Truck Simulator 2 back before Xmas in the Steam sale and it is absolutely brilliant. £3.74 was a steal and I actually felt like I robbed the developer. The career mode is superb and the devs have done a really good job on maintaining, improving and expanding the game. Some cracking mods out there too with a sublime community. This is probably the only simulator that appeals to me and it's just so addictive and incredibly made. I cannot wait for SCS Software's next game; American Truck Simulator - it looks amazing!
