  1. Double XP 'weekend' starts tomorrow (19th) at 10am PST and 5pm GMT and runs through until Monday the 23rd at 10am PST/5pm GMT.
  2. I rediscovered my love for doing challenges and am focused purely on camo challenges at this time. I'm just one camo away from a gold Kuda and want to aim to get all my SMG's on diamond. There is so much XP to be gained from playing this strategically that it really makes the whole experience more enjoyable. There are plenty of unlocks on offer and instead of just choosing the best class possible and rinsing players every game; it's great to mix things up a bit for the sake of earning stuff in-game.
  3. There isn't a map called Harvester Jonny - you sure you're playing Black Ops 3 I played Combine last night 6 times in a row because the bloody lobby kept persistently voting for it - even the players who were going 6-30 every bloody game! The only reason I stayed in the lobby was due to a good connection and a load of players were there for the taking.
  4. My overall feeling towards the game after playing the beta that this would die quicker than Battlefield Hardline and the fact it costs £50 is an absolute rip-off of the highest order. The ultimate killer for me is the fact there is no campaign which for a brand like this should be absolutely fucking essential. Everything else seems watered-down and shallow as shit. I think this game will fade quicker than Evolve and I regard that as one of the worst FPS games ever made. Many users who have been playing through EA Access suggest that it's one of the dullest and barest games they've played and a total cash grab. Star Wars fans might be enthused but the wider FPS community will not even entertain considering this game at a budget price I bet. The mainstream media will probably be more kinder but I can't see it scoring very well but each domain. Next up; Rainbow Six: Siege - that's another pure cash grab on the horizon with no single player campaign and a shite offering of content. It actually makes you appreciate the sublime work of Treyarch and Black Ops 3 who have put in a sterling effort of a content-laden game in Black Ops 3.
  5. I just hit first prestige last night and it seems you retain all your attachments to the guns but they become locked and unlock at their usual respective levels once again. You do receive a permanent unlock token once you prestige meaning you can choose any gun or perk, specialist, scorestreak, equipment etc.. that you can acquire at the very start and retain throughout without having to unlock again. Challenges and camo also remain once you prestige and you gain one extra create a class slot although all your previous custom classes will be wiped. My advice for your unlock token is choose something essential that you wouldn't receive right from the get-go in the prestige e.g perhaps a gun that unlocks at level 20+. No point in retaining something you can automatically get at level 7 or so.
  6. I've just purchased this tonight and can't wait to get started. It's at times like this I wish Fallout 4 and Black Ops 3 didn't exist!
  7. What Specialists is everyone rolling at the minute? I've currently got Ruin equipped with the Gravity Spikes and that is excellent for doubles/triples and even quads in some modes. Just gotta execute the move before getting killed as if you don't your ability gets reset. Also tried Seraph with Combat Focus which can boost your scorestreak when activated for a period of time - you can really climb the ladder especially in objective modes such as KC and Hardpoint when activated. Firebreak is also good fun with its flamethrower. There are really OP but available to all and some are great fun to use!
  8. I think this is the biggest problem with Black Ops 3 so far and Treyarch really need to look at fixing it in its current state. As this is a combination of netcode and map aesthetics; I'm not sure if they will be able to fix it to any standard without having to practically overhaul map design or rewrite the entire character code but it's bloody annoying playing against it particularly on maps like Infection, Metro and any others with decent cover elements. It's been an minor gripe in other Call of Duty titles previous but it just feels so more prominent in BO3. If anyone is unsure of what headglitching is; basically if you're looking at someone behind cover and all you can see is their head but from the opponent POV; they have their gun and torso seemingly exposed. Bullets don't fire from waist or chest level either - it's actually head level which is why you can get shot by someone in cover without seeing them from the head down meaning you have a small target to hit and they can kill you full view.
  9. Bugs in a Bethesda game? Well I never! Glad you're enjoying it Phil Can't wait to play it!
  10. Advanced Warfare did use a mixture of dedicated servers and P2P although still more reliant on the latter but I'm sure I read an interview that Treyarch were implementing dedicated servers for all current gen systems. Probably just the usual marketing ploy. The PC version has full dedicated server support for BO3 but the matchmaking standard pretty much ruins it regardless.
  11. I still haven't started Fallout 4 yet but hope to crack on next week. Hope everyone who playing it is having a good time
  12. I saw the other day that the PS4 and Xbox One versions as well as the old gen still primarily utilize P2P instead of users having access to dedicated servers across the board in BO3. If this is the case; billion dollar franchise but cheapskate execution as usual. Stable dedicated servers with manual or fluent automatic matchmaking should be mandatory really.
  13. Connection speeds mean fuck all in Treyarch games now with their aggressive lag compensation and you'll find that the better internets in the lobby get punished by the laggers so people's speeds get manipulated to be comparable with the worst connection in the lobby. The fact that the general matchmaking isn't great regardless just increases the amount of users who get dragged down. I actually miss the host advantage days as there was only one person with an advantage in the match as opposed to now where the entire lobby plays at a disadvantage with a deliberately distorted connection quality. All the ping numbers and in-game smoothness are merely a smokescreen to convince users they are in a solid match whereas they are likely to playing up to a second off the pace because the algorithms used against weak connections have been stretched and tampered to buggery. The general netcode shoddiness doesn't help either.
  14. I've mostly been enjoying the Kuda and Weevil so far. I thought I'd be more into AR's but once again there's been some tasty SMG's which are appropriate for many maps and very powerful. I unlock the Razorback in a few levels and that looks pretty damn good also. I've used the KN-44 on a few matches which is a great starting gun and AR (formerly the Ark-7 in the beta)
  15. They are slowly drifting in..
  16. Haven't eaten my copy yet I've done a few missions and I have no idea what is going on It seems pretty good but also trippy as hell - if you said to me 5 years ago after MW2 that instead of shooting civilians in an airport; you'd be killing robots on a train, I'd say you were bloody crazy. After mission 2; this campaign is well and truly fucking mental
  17. I really don't know why so many more people play TDM over KC when you can earn many more points in the latter and build scorestreaks much quicker. It's practically the same mode anyway but it's so much better flowing when you have tags to pick up and it's not frankly a taxing tactical mode either. TDM is just too plain and simple and KC offers much more which doesn't drastically alter matches whatsoever.
  18. I think all the maps are of a very high standard with some nice varied backdrops and layouts. I'm not sure which is my favourite at the minute and I'm not even sure if I've played on all of them yet but I quite like the look of Infection as that's a really weird map but with a more traditional backdrop:- There isn't one map that I dread to see on the rotation although the spawns on Fringe can be cringeworthy. Others like Metro and Havoc feel like BO2 maps done better which is great.
  19. COD 4 Modern Warfare would have made the perfect opportunity for a movie as it was so unique and brand-appropriate but now the franchise has moved to a more futuristic, fantasy and spectacular backdrop; they'll probably go all Hollywood on this aspect and showcase as much CGI as possible. MW would have the best narrative but the way the series is positioned now; it's all about crashes and bangs more than a quality story. COD 4 wont ever be forgotten as a game but I think the time has probably passed for it to be relevant for a movie nowadays which is a shame.
  20. I see Activision have formed their own movie studio now with Skylanders coming in the next two years and a Call of Duty movie expected for 2018-19. Could be interesting and hope they do something along the lines of Modern Warfare as that would be vintage.
  21. Connection improved as the day went on - I think I jumped in just as the game was being released in North America so the dedicated server lobbies were a bit lopsided. Bullet detection still feels iffy to me and the hitboxes are inconsistently out of sync possibly due to the fluctuating framerate playing a part. I'll probably have to lock it at 60fps retro-style! For the life of me I still cannot remember any of the map names but I think I've played on most. A couple I have yet to see though but on the whole; they all seem of a very good quality and are nicely balanced. Not too sure about the new Nuketown though as it's a bit too trippy at times with all the colours and digital style. Still haven't got round to creating an emblem or doing some camo but I'll take a look at that later I expect. I've mostly been using the first two AR's - one is the KN-44 which was the Ark-7 in the beta - not sure why they've renamed it and I dunno the name of the other one but it's quite beasty. Need to start unlocking more. I think I'm level 17 and it's taking a while to level up - I remember last year on AW reaching level 30 after 5 or so matches. Prestige rate is supposed to be 12-15 on average apparently.
  22. Launch trailer
  23. Yep, he's a terrific player and played a blinder last night
  24. Seems a good game packed full of content but as expected; it's lagging like hell and the bullet detection is a fucking farce. It'll be a waste of time producing all that material if people are getting shit on with the same old issues that have plagued the Treyarch games. Looks like HC mode beckons as usual to compensate..
