  1. I've put a different article up so that one should work. Hope my insurance covers underpants too
  2. About half hour ago I heard what could only be described as a massive explosion which made my house shake and nearly all my windows shatter. My neighbor in her garden was almost knocked off her feet! I had the TV on quite loud, was indoors with all the windows shut and I don't think I've heard something so deafening or powerful! I honestly thought it was a gas explosion next door or a bomb. I've only just stop shaking myself due to sheer shock and my fucking lasagna is ruined. Now i have a bloody migraine and have to survey the garden to see if all the tiles are still on my roof! It was heard just before 4pm in quite a sizable radius stretching towards Northamptonshire and Milton Keynes. Anyone else hear it? Jesus christ that was an unbelievable experience and whoever the pilot was to the plane can go screw himself. http://www.oxfordmail.co.uk/news/14415605._Massive_bang__heard_across_Oxfordshire/
  3. Hopefully it'll retain the same quality as The Office did back in the day.
  4. Starts next month and if anyone hasn't seen it already; here's the trailer released last week Look at the dislikes I think it'll get a very poor reception even if it turns out reasonable but unless it is swarmed in praise; I don't think we'll get another series of Top Gear again. I actually felt it was going downhill in recent times even with the trio - the format was getting rather stale for me and there were no grand or exciting episodes like we'd seen over the years. I think the new one will have far too many presenters and try to retain all the scripted and predictable stuff which was making the last few series quite tiresome. Chris Evans has apparently fallen foul of the production team on numerous occasions and there's rumoured disharmony in the team with the weight of pressure on them. The producers even wasted £500,000 on a trip they aren't even going to show which has already aggravated the taxpayers and we've already seen a massive segment cut where they were joyriding around a war memorial. It's not got off to a promising start and it hasn't even started yet!

    Doom 4

Played a handful of matches so far and the game seems pretty good fun albeit getting slaughtered by the developers in a couple of the TDM games! Certainly has the hallmarks of the classic games such as UT and Quake 3. It's fast paced and the few guns are great to use. Not sure how it will fare in the long run but seems great as a casual title that you could probably hop in and out of. In terms of the alternatives; you have the new Unreal Tournament which is free to play right now in development and looking very good plus Overwatch is coming out late May also and although this doesn't have a campaign; the multiplayer has considerable variety and depth. If I had to choose one going forward; it would probably be Overwatch although Doom seems a good FPS alternative and more laid-back despite the brutality and pace.
  6. I'm intrigued by this but it's a indie game with an AAA price and I haven't been convinced by the developers that this game has a basis for longevity and variety. Could be a nice a relaxing title but it looks more like No Mans Land right now but hopefully we'll get more info as the game drifts towards release.
  7. Activision games are moving towards pay to win and gambling. Now you have the base game (full price) season passes (about 90% price of the main game) microtransactions (specific cosmetic and in-game items) and now there is this other revenue stream that is popping up in their games and other AAA tiles which is a RNG gamble on in-game items (guns, stats, cosmetics etc..) No doubt Activision were inspired by the likes of EA Sports's success with FIFA UT packs where players would spend double figures a month on these gambles despite not having any chance-based data disclosed or how the algorithms work. It's a grey area but companies are milking it before the laws get tightened in regards to age restrictions and win% disclosure. It's great business for them and people are willing to ply hundreds of bucks on this chance-based gamble of a system. It has proven a massive success on Call of Duty whereby the publishers have been able to mitigate their losses on the 10m+ users who don't buy their games anymore because they've gone to shit. I think Advanced Warfare grossed massively due to Supply Drops despite selling like crap and when you have the likes of Ali-A and Tmartn grooming their users into buying them; Activision's vision of greed continues to thrive and this aspect will be present in all their games until the legality issues clamp down and restrict them. Microtransactions are not too bad as you get what you pay for but these cryptokeys/supply drops/packs and all that shit is a completely different thing and you are gambling against change and an algorithm that doesn't give you any idea of your win chances.

    Doom 4

Just seen this pop up in my Steam library and I'm pre-loading the beta right now. I think it starts tomorrow on PC
  9. Apparently he asked a member of the cockpit whilst there were still people on the plane if he could translate to the suspect that he wanted to take a picture with him and then got a stewardess to take it. The suspect appeared very unstable but that didn't stop him possibly inflaming the situation by intimidating him for a memorable photo with the attitude 'if I blow up; I go out in style'. I think it could be interpreted a humorous as the incident wasn't as severe as first thought despite lasting another 6 hours in a standoff situation but the guy assumed it was real and didn't really consider his actions could inflame the situation especially when dealing with someone clearly that isn't the full ticket and was dressed to cause the utmost distress.
  10. Egyptian flight gets hijacked in mid air en route to Cyrpus by a man wearing an apparent suicide bomb belt and some fat British fucktard hostage decides it would be a good idea despite all the delicate terrorism problems circulating Europe right now; to approach the bomber for a 'selfie' whilst smiling and acting as if it's one big joke whilst others are left terrified and very distressed. What the hell is wrong people these days especially when they have a camera pointed at them and social media at hand?...
  11. Just seen this http://uk.ign.com/articles/2016/03/29/call-of-duty-2016-will-be-set-in-the-far-future-say-rumourswhich suggests it wont be Ghosts 2 or related to that brand which is probably the only sensible decision this game will ever have. After how bad Ghosts was as a game and how poorly it sold even counting the extra copies that people got from upgrading console versions; there was no way they could revisit Ghosts as it was a failure of an IP and still to this day leaves a bitter taste for many. Either way; IW were damned if they did and damned if they didn't as by creating yet another brand new IP; it just shows how much Ghosts was loathed by all parties. However; I don't think some space shit is the answer to their problems and could just make it a hell of a lot worse. This ain't Call of Duty no more and with Titanfall 2, Destiny, Halo and all the other space games; it's just going to fall into a saturated and tiresome batch that isn't anything new as a videogame.
  12. Strong rumours from credible sources suggest this one is going to be set in the distant future from even Black Ops 3 with a full sci-fi backdrop and space battles and other shit. I think I'll give this one a miss by the sounds of it - fighting robots on a train was even a step too far let alone battling aliens on mars or crap along those lines. Also rumours surrounding Battlefield 5 suggest it will be going back to a classic war game which sounds right up my street. Screw Call of Duty now.
  13. Germany 2-3 England Nearly couldn't be arsed to watch this but I am glad I did and even persisted when we were 2-0 down. Amazing goals especially Vardy's and very encouraging indeed.
  14. This is the problem with Ubisoft as a whole - they design these incredible open worlds of scale and beauty and then add overlay gameplay elements that are a huge disparity from the quality of the environment. Credit to the aesthetic team but as with the likes of many of their highly ambitious titles; the gameplay is typically lacking with missed opportunities and questionable implementations. I saw a few days ago that the game director for The Division quit to go join IO and Square Enix so he's pretty much taken the glory and ran before the pressure kicks in. I don't see the point of this game being always online if they don't support it on a basis that includes daily/weekly challenges and new instances. It's not an MMO but they want it to be a social game with MMO traits so perhaps they should start treating it like one instead of leaving it to rot as a barebones RPG. It's too late to be developing the narrative but at least give us more varied material to keep people engaged for hours exceeding 30. My next mission is to fix an uplink tower in Flatiron - I've done this mission 5 times already in The Division and in about every other fucking Ubisoft title. There isn't enough in the base game let alone the season pass to last..
  15. Can't believe this is £40 at retail. I think I paid £2.99 for it in the Steam Sale. Bloody remasters!
  16. Brutal score but a fair and entertaining review as usual from Angry Joe. The one problem he experienced in regards to the graphics was likely down to his drivers and not to do with the game but everything else was spot on in respect to his criteria. Ubisoft do value his opinion along with a few other reviewers who have identified flaws with the concept and game as a whole so hopefully they'll take on board any complaints generated by them and the wider community and learn some lessons.
  17. Sony working towards the PS4K esssentially http://kotaku.com/sources-sony-is-working-on-a-ps4-5-1765723053
  18. So, it's been 10 days since release and was wondering people's thoughts towards the game now that they are settled in? I am 25 hours in, level 18 but now feeling the repetitiveness kicking in that many angled to who were approaching the finale after roughly the same amount played on record. I've just finished the west side of the map and aside from the Base of Operations; I have absolutely no reason to return there especially in areas North West like Hell's Kitchen. It's a bit of a shame that beautifully crafted and detailed areas are used for only a few encounters, side missions and a main mission. I'm off to Flatiron next and as usual, speak to the JTF office to attain 4 side missions and then head to the situation board to grab 4 encounters and that's all the district has to offer apart from the one main mission and even those have deteriorated - Times Square and Ametherst's Apartment were exceptionally lackluster missions. All the side missions are becoming repeated albeit in other areas - hostage rescue, uplink repair, missing person, bounty etc... and even the encounters are the same; such as assisting the JTF and obtaining supplies. I'm just repeating everything I've done already on another part of the map in almost exactly the same fashion. There's even two water pump missions earlier in the game that have exactly the same interior but are in two different locations. Considering there isn't much copy and past detail in this game; that was rather disappointing to see and I'll probably see another one the same later on guaranteed. The game still looks remarkable and incredibly detailed the more I delve into it but the gameplay is getting tedious now and as my current level outweighs the locations I am visiting thanks to very generous XP earned previous; the loot I am earning is weak so even that aspect is getting stale. The enemies are providing little challenge either and are nothing more than an inconvenience on the bland streets. The big thing I've noticed is that I'm only playing about 30-45 minutes a day now before I've had enough. This means I'll be able to string it out until next month but I'm disappointed that I can't sit down and have a highly engrossing session before calling it a day as I don't feel motivated to play. I think the samey missions have played a massive part in this as for the first 10-15 hours when I was learning the ropes; I didn't really mind but after a 6th supply shootout and 4 uplink repairs that are all the same format; it's gone down a typical open world sandbox route of not having the content to match the ambition. I still think it's a great game and I'll get my money's worth but I cannot envision the longevity even with upcoming DLC for the rest of the year as the concept and format is just too weak for the long term. Definitely worth the experience of playing but apart from some different coloured guns that perform the same as the weaker ones against low level enemies; the format is the same all game and you can predict the missions on offer in a district before you've even unlocked them. Collectibles to fill the narrative void seems a waste of time too.
  19. Reminds me of this classic - ''what first attracted you to the millionaire Paul Daniels'' Pure gold!
  20. 6.7 That's bloody harsh. Bit strange that the reviewer had been bumming the game to death for the past 6 weeks and then finish on that note. I haven't been so shocked since the infamous Alien Isolation review..
  21. Great magician and entertainer
  22. Interesting Seems like many assets are in place outside of the core map minus the detail and the odd texture...

    Doom 4

I'm looking forward to this for sure! Doom is an iconic series and hopefully this will make a great casual arena shooter like the old days of UT and Q3.
  24. Like I said; they are ran by the same company Jack does speak highly of the game in the video and as a user who has gone all the way in the game; it is interesting to hear his views on the latter stages of it. I do think he has some great points about the endgame aspect and in regards to missed opportunities in the overall design that precedes it. I think it's a pretty balanced video throughout.
  25. Ironically; Jackfrags and Levelcap are bankrolled and managed by the same backer and are good friends IRL I do think Jack is quite a credible and balanced YouTuber although as with all of them these days; it's quantity of videos for clicks and to hell with the quality. I miss the days when you'd see a user like KYR Speedy upload one amazing video every 3 or so days and now with him and most of them; it's 3 videos a day most of the time.
