  1. Brutal score but a fair and entertaining review as usual from Angry Joe. The one problem he experienced in regards to the graphics was likely down to his drivers and not to do with the game but everything else was spot on in respect to his criteria. Ubisoft do value his opinion along with a few other reviewers who have identified flaws with the concept and game as a whole so hopefully they'll take on board any complaints generated by them and the wider community and learn some lessons.
  2. Sony working towards the PS4K esssentially http://kotaku.com/sources-sony-is-working-on-a-ps4-5-1765723053
  3. So, it's been 10 days since release and was wondering people's thoughts towards the game now that they are settled in? I am 25 hours in, level 18 but now feeling the repetitiveness kicking in that many angled to who were approaching the finale after roughly the same amount played on record. I've just finished the west side of the map and aside from the Base of Operations; I have absolutely no reason to return there especially in areas North West like Hell's Kitchen. It's a bit of a shame that beautifully crafted and detailed areas are used for only a few encounters, side missions and a main mission. I'm off to Flatiron next and as usual, speak to the JTF office to attain 4 side missions and then head to the situation board to grab 4 encounters and that's all the district has to offer apart from the one main mission and even those have deteriorated - Times Square and Ametherst's Apartment were exceptionally lackluster missions. All the side missions are becoming repeated albeit in other areas - hostage rescue, uplink repair, missing person, bounty etc... and even the encounters are the same; such as assisting the JTF and obtaining supplies. I'm just repeating everything I've done already on another part of the map in almost exactly the same fashion. There's even two water pump missions earlier in the game that have exactly the same interior but are in two different locations. Considering there isn't much copy and past detail in this game; that was rather disappointing to see and I'll probably see another one the same later on guaranteed. The game still looks remarkable and incredibly detailed the more I delve into it but the gameplay is getting tedious now and as my current level outweighs the locations I am visiting thanks to very generous XP earned previous; the loot I am earning is weak so even that aspect is getting stale. The enemies are providing little challenge either and are nothing more than an inconvenience on the bland streets. The big thing I've noticed is that I'm only playing about 30-45 minutes a day now before I've had enough. This means I'll be able to string it out until next month but I'm disappointed that I can't sit down and have a highly engrossing session before calling it a day as I don't feel motivated to play. I think the samey missions have played a massive part in this as for the first 10-15 hours when I was learning the ropes; I didn't really mind but after a 6th supply shootout and 4 uplink repairs that are all the same format; it's gone down a typical open world sandbox route of not having the content to match the ambition. I still think it's a great game and I'll get my money's worth but I cannot envision the longevity even with upcoming DLC for the rest of the year as the concept and format is just too weak for the long term. Definitely worth the experience of playing but apart from some different coloured guns that perform the same as the weaker ones against low level enemies; the format is the same all game and you can predict the missions on offer in a district before you've even unlocked them. Collectibles to fill the narrative void seems a waste of time too.
  4. Reminds me of this classic - ''what first attracted you to the millionaire Paul Daniels'' Pure gold!
  5. 6.7 That's bloody harsh. Bit strange that the reviewer had been bumming the game to death for the past 6 weeks and then finish on that note. I haven't been so shocked since the infamous Alien Isolation review..
  6. Great magician and entertainer
  7. Interesting Seems like many assets are in place outside of the core map minus the detail and the odd texture...

    Doom 4

I'm looking forward to this for sure! Doom is an iconic series and hopefully this will make a great casual arena shooter like the old days of UT and Q3.
  9. Like I said; they are ran by the same company Jack does speak highly of the game in the video and as a user who has gone all the way in the game; it is interesting to hear his views on the latter stages of it. I do think he has some great points about the endgame aspect and in regards to missed opportunities in the overall design that precedes it. I think it's a pretty balanced video throughout.
  10. Ironically; Jackfrags and Levelcap are bankrolled and managed by the same backer and are good friends IRL I do think Jack is quite a credible and balanced YouTuber although as with all of them these days; it's quantity of videos for clicks and to hell with the quality. I miss the days when you'd see a user like KYR Speedy upload one amazing video every 3 or so days and now with him and most of them; it's 3 videos a day most of the time.
  11. It's pretty much so you keep on par with the AI as the later missions have a recommended level to participate in and if you're below that or your gear isn't up to standard; your weapons wont be very effective and you'll get torn to shreds in seconds. I'm level 13 at the minute and accidentally stumbled into a level 14 area going down the train tracks and there was an encounter which I didn't realise I activated and I was mowed down by a level 14 two man AI team in just a few hits. If you do a mission where you're a couple ahead of the recommended; it's quite routine though. What I find a bit pointless in regards to the end game is you grind for better gear in the dark zone and you have no missions to use them in. The only use for the highest level gear to to use against other players in the dark zone and that's it really. I'm hitting level 14 in 18 hours of play and I'm taking my time - haven't even fast traveled yet and doing everything at a good pace although I'm worried about hitting the endgame brick wall. Seems many people that have rushed it doing mission after mission have maxed out after 30 hours and then have nothing to do. I'm just gonna string it out for as long as possible.
  12. From Jack Frags. Some great points and concerns expressed there.
  13. Nice! Will be integrated as a mode sometime this year
  14. Is it me or are these incredibly rare? It's only a cosmetic character feature but I've only stumbled upon one in 12 or so hours of play. I have a shit ton of jackets and jeans though along with the occasional beanie
  15. I just went into the dark zone for the first time since the beta; killed a few NPC's got a blue mask and managed to extract it with a few seconds to go. Also stole a few kills from a guy who was also extracting gear but didn't kill him. Ranked up to level 5 and then hopped out. That was some good shit for 5 minutes work Later; I may actually stick around and see if I can get some proper gear.
  16. You don't see any other players outside of the safe houses and the dark zone unless they are in your team/lobby. The game basically has a 3 layer system of three servers - the safe zones, the city and the dark zone but you wont notice it as there are no loading times when moving into a new layer.
  17. I see they've made the new Hitman game episodic What stupid game design is that right off the bat!
  18. Cheers! Thanks babe
  19. Do you lose your equipped gear when you die in the dark zone or is it just any loot you're extracting? I haven't done my homework on this aspect really.
  20. I'm level 11 and still yet to venture into the Dark Zone. I'm kinda working west to east but that has to be my next port of call.
  21. An interesting video from a once popular uploader of Call of Duty with some valid points
  22. 1gb patch earlier and EU servers have arrived
  23. The Fable Legends beta invites went out and a day later the studio is wound up I'm sure someone will snap up the studio and launch the game though.
