  1. Siege is currently on a free weekend on PC if anyone is interested https://rainbow6keys.ubi.com/en-GB
  2. No mour Mourinho Hope they get Juande Ramos as a replacement Jose to Man Utd I'd expect.
  3. I didn't get around to picking up the PS4 version - I'm sticking with my P©S3 version at present I'll try and grab it for twenty notes over Christmas I think. I take it that it's a huge improvement with the new engine?
  4. Yep, it's amazing to think I could survive on 2-3 N64 games a year because they cost around £60 a pop yet you could play the likes of Turok, Goldeneye, Mario and Zelda for hundreds of hours and never get bored. The expectations and attitudes these days in the industry is so different.
  5. Kojima and his teams work in the AAA market in the past was of exceptional quality when he had control of content, budget and deadlines so I think he could restore the standard that we used to see in the major gaming market. Other studios that aren't tied to gaming politics such as CD Projekt Red prove that this can still be possible. The problem with Konami, Kojima and the MGS V project was down to the publishers having complete control over the product at a time when they wanted to exit the console gaming market. It was rumoured that Kojima didn't even want to make another MGS title as the 4th was supposed to be the final game in the series and this would explain why MGS V's story was non-existent and didn't want to take away anything he'd made previous when running his projects. I did enjoy The Phantom Pain but it was clear that the game wasn't made with the same level of passion, quality and direction and you do feel that Kojima was under some dictatorship in the process of churning it out. The online aspect stinks of Konami money-grabbing too and out of all the AAA publishers in existence; their online games are the worst I have ever seen yet that didn't stop them creating this microtransaction-focused online aspect in MGS V which was just appallingly concocted. I think Sony and Kojima will be a good partnership and we may not have an end-product for 5 years or so but I think it will be produced in immense quality and in the interest of gamers and not a focus of milking money. It should be a sound investment and something to look forward to. I expect Konami to be wobbling and downsizing in the mobile market in that period and it wouldn't surprise me if they go bankrupt in a few years time and I don't think they'll ever forgive themselves for losing Hideo and his team.
  6. Has finally departed the clutches of Konami and done a deal with Sony for his own project which is great news. Thank christ a talent like that isn't tied down in the same fashion with publishers like Activision, Ubisoft and EA. He'll also be able to assemble a quality team with his longstanding reputation in the industry and deliver games at his pace with no cut content, forced microtransactions and daft deadlines. Konami are really the unsung bastards of the AAA gaming scene along with the usual suspects - they are abandoning their AAA games to focus on mobile gaming with only PES remaining. MGS V was a good game but ruined by dreadful management and other titles like Silent Hill which looked unreal in the tech demo were cancelled. Screw Konami!
  7. This releases on Steam tomorrow 'remastered' https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_smmPB0-oWE Did anyone have this back in the day? I remember my parents spending £59.99 on it all those years ago. Great N64 game in the days when games were pricey but you'd play them for years and years even just solo and never be bored.
  8. Hopefully DICE will remain committed like they did with Battlefield 4 without feeling forced to but as Battlefield 5 is in the works and several key staff have switched projects including Dan Vaderlind; I can only see the 'withheld' material being integrated into the game and then that'll be that. It still seems like a flavour of the month title and there are much better titles out there for a lot less money.
  9. £37 is still way too expensive for this game - I think £24.99 tops. There were many Black Friday deals which dropped it to around the £30 mark but it still didn't tempt me. Trouble is when this gets to a more attractive price; I think the people departing the game will still outweigh any quantity of prospective buyers and I don't really want to join a community that's dwindling. I've been following the player counts closely and PS4 gets around 70,000 at peak right now, Xbox One nets about 40,000 and PC is surprisingly high at 15,000 but just like Battlefield Hardline, Evolve and another brands like this; those figures have a habit of plummeting and a game like Battlefront lacks the core content to keep players engaged and the season pass is just unjustifiable. Bloody EA!

    Squad (PC)

Like a cross between old Battlefield and Arma. Game released today in early access (shame) but is apparently very good indeed and one to watch
  11. DICE have confirmed they are working on the next Battlefield title and a few staff have moved over from Battlefront to get the game to market in 2016. Just hope they don't screw it up like they did with BF4 at launch!
  12. Wow, Ubisoft are really hot on taking anything down in a matter of hours, Really don't know why they are taking such a negative stance to users who have bought the game that they can't even talk about their experience let alone upload a video! I did see the gameplay video in its entirety and it does look pretty good visually - much better than expected. It showed daytime, night, snow and other weather effects which looked impressive in what was a highly detailed world. In gameplay terms; it does seem a bit bland and the AI looks questionable. The HUD is also a bit cluttered and untidy - it could do with shrinking and moving to the corners of the screen. The gameplay mechanics appear much looser than seen previous but they do seem fluid. Ubisoft's games like this and Siege are very conceptually-delicate so to get the best out of this game; I think people will have to be playing co-op and play it the way it was intended in regards to survival for the best experience. Solo players may get underwhelmed by repetitive missions in typical sandbox fashion.
  13. 28 minutes of gameplay - it wont be up long though
  14. I don't think there is any story really - it just highlights that Ubisoft have a character customisation available and you can play as a female. I really don't know what the format is of this game but it appears most of it is just rolling missions which you can solo or co-op whilst going PvP or PvE. For a game of this magnitude; the publicity has been appalling really and Ubisoft haven't conveyed much detail.
  15. Wow, Ubisoft have been very busy last 24 hours as videos are being removed in their droves. When other developers/publishers are confident in their products; they welcome users uploading or streaming their tiles and the likes of Black Ops 3 beta; Treyarch encouraged users to upload and share. Ubisoft seem to be desperately keeping this game under wraps aside from their upscaled, scripted promotional 'gameplay' videos; apart from the users who have pre-ordered the game and have immediate access. The fact people can't even talk about it just screams suspicion and if you want to play the beta; you have to pay full whack for the privellage. Either they are keeping the best game ever quiet or they have no confidence in the game and are embarrassed. This wont last long https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3W9nhmQNFT0
  16. Alpha starts this week on Xbox One apparently but the PC and PS4 versions have been delayed until January which will be the beta. Game is released in March. Here is the latest footage and this game looks worse and worse the more they showcase it https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-BZLW-T2aAo Also Ubisoft have put in a strict NDA with the following conditions:- NON-DISCLOSURE AGREEMENT: If you are selected for the Alpha, you will have to accept an in-game Non-Disclosure Agreement when launching the Alpha for the first time. By agreeing to our NDA in-game, you commit not to:Live stream on Twitch, Youtube Gaming or any other streaming platform, Capture or share gameplay content, Post images or screenshots, Discuss the Alpha. Wankers.
  17. Free on Steam right now! Hilarious but short game with a superb narrative that's humorous throughout. About 600mb and well worth 20 minutes of your time
  18. Apparently this new Far Cry game comes out in February but I didn't even know it existed until today
  19. Well I went against my initial thoughts from the beta and picked this up (at a huge discount of course) and thought I'd share some early opinions. This game looks and feels dated, the mechanics are clunky and frustrating at times and the general netcode makes BF4's launch look epic. This is nowhere near the standard that Ubisoft presented it which is of no surprise. Despite these flaws; there is some fun to be had here but you have to keep your expectations very low indeed. If you can get over the sloppy and lackluster execution; this isn't a bad tactical game especially when you are playing with fellow players who have the capacity to understand how this game should be played. It's predominately a MP 5v5 hostage rescue or bomb defusal game although there are some single player elements mostly consisting of the same thing either through matchmaking or lone wolf where you undertake a mission single handily. The game revolves around Reown points which is like exp and you can unlock operators which each have their own range of specialist equipment and loadouts to unlock and choose from. You can earn this in the single player modes solo or in a team against the AI or you can rank up and gather more Reown from playing casual MP which pits 5v5 full MP. Matches are best of 5 with alternating ends of attack and defend and you can select the appropriate operators for the job in hand on the various maps. The maps are reasonable and the objective points change in each round to keep it challenging. The attack team has to locate intel on the bombs/hostages in the prep phase and the defenders have to secure their objective positions by laying out traps and barricades - each operator has different equipment on offer whether you attack or defend and each player on the team can only choose one specific role that they've unlocked. This means each side and player is equipped differently and it keeps everything interesting. Attack teams can blast walls, repel to the roof and enter via windows and attempt to secure the objective through a variety of means. Defenders can utilise their equipment depending on the operators in the team by creating additional barricades, bulletproof blocks and a range of traps. The matches can be a bit messy and if you're on a clueless team; it can be embarrassing, annoying and a lost cause but aside from that; some games can be really dramatic and make everyone think and work hard to secure the objective and win the round. The movement and gun mechanics are ropey to say the least - it feels like Ubisoft wanted to create some realism of lumping a fully kitted-out operator and making them work for kills but it's just been conveyed in a messy and cumbersome way that it feels dated and awkward. It's good that it's not simplistic like COD but the execution is questionable especially with some dreadful bullet detection and the general netcode. The AI also for the single player aspect is some of the worst I've ever encountered but it makes way for some hilarious but cringeworthy killcams. Competitive mode unlocks at level 20 and I'm 7 so far but I will update in due course if I make it that far. So far though; not bad but not great and certainly not worth it at fully price. If you can overlook the woes and find some others to play with; there is fun to be had. Not the worst game Ubisoft have released in recent times either...
  20. Definitely pick that up at Christmas - usually it's a bargain bin price and for what's on offer; it's an amazing purchase. Very disappointed with this game though and the developers have a few more days to save the game or this could escalate just like the Arkham Knight saga except this time everyone and not just the PC owners will be deeply affected. Game shouldn't have been released really and everyone would be wise to avoid it at this time until it works and is highly discounted.
  21. Looks like Gary is going to miss Salford v Hartlepool on friday in the FA Cup. Bizarre choice he's made... He could have been here but for some reason chose here instead Strange choice
  22. The console versions are apparently just as bad with zero acknowledgement from the developers of this in regards to all the systems. Even loading times of 15+ minutes in places on the Xbox One version which is one of the most shocking things I've ever seen http://uk.ign.com/articles/2015/11/30/reports-claim-major-performance-problems-for-just-cause-3 Just Cause 2 was a incredible success on PC with some great mods but the developers have fucked it up right off the bat here.
  23. This game runs like total shit. Persistent stuttering on PC, frame rate drops below 15fps on console and annoying loading times. Don't get it until the developers patch the game and even then we dunno if it'll work to a playable satisfactory standard.
  24. Yep! Everyone is so predictable on Metro too that if you can flank them via the walls and get behind them from the start; you're off to a flyer guaranteed!
