  1. Icebreaker also announced
  2. Aston Villa have sacked Steve Bruce after one win in 9 games despite only being two points off the playoffs. I think it's a bad decision but they are really paying the price for not going up last year. Not sure if sacking him will solve anything though as they have to pay him off and source a new manager. It's amazing how much financial shit they are in and could easily end up like Sunderland and Charlton. Not even bumper crowds can mitigate the loss of the Premiership income and their huge outgoings. Retaining Jack Grealish in the summer instead of taking £20m and paying John Terry huge bucks last year is two decisions that could prove fatal in the long run.

    Hmmm

I am concerned about Anthem because it looks very generic, linear and incredibly underwhelming. It's a live service game made by declining developers with ideas poached from other games that doesn't offer anything unique or original. The developers are failing to convince with the concept and long term strategy and they seem to be looking for outs so they can go back to work on Dragon Age and Mass Effect. A Destiny format with Titanfall aesthetics and The Surge mechanics is a mortifying combination. Add a live service foundation into the mix plus BioWare's current reputation along with EA as publisher and it has all the hallmarks of DOA.
  4. Apparently the pre-loaded games are the ones ones going to be available so there's gonna be no classics like Gran Turismo, Metal Gear Solid or Resident Evil. I know licencing is a factor here but the device is a bit of an underwhelming rip-off especially as you can't add to it.
  5. Firing Range
  6. Two more maps showcased. Glad Summit is like the original again as also remastered in BO3 DLC rather than a horrible re-imagining like we saw in BO2. Morocco looks a bit cartoony though.
  7. In other words he saw the initial backlash and changed his mind😎
  8. I can only assume that with the game split into 3 with Zombies, core MP and Blackout that they didn't want the community separated any further. I think they also have some deluded pride about this health system and armour in place and don't want that being diminished by alternatives. Either way, 150+50 health + bad bullet detection/shit netcode could make it an infuriating experience all round especially in one-life Blackout.
  9. West Ham 3-1 Man Utd Bet they regret sacking Moyes all them years ago😎

    FIFA 19

I've watched quite a few matches of the final game and it looks like they've toned down a lot of the erratic mechanics that were present in the beta and demo. The ball physics don't look quite as farcical either. The shooting still needs to be nerfed - some dude playing a career as Macclesfield with youth players only in his team managed to score a string of blinding goals and so did the AI. If they tone that down then we'll be getting closer to a reasonable representation of football. PES is still way ahead in gameplay, ball physics and animations for me but the very outdated presentation and pathetic AI is severely dragging down that brand where they desperately need to overhaul that as much as they have the gameplay in recent years. If only there was a game with FIFA's authenticity and PES's gameplay....
  11. Here's another channel which does decent updates
  12. One of the lingering doubts I have aside from not being totally convinced about the game is the prospect of Red Dead Redemption 2 arriving 3 weeks later. The potentially fragile and split population playing BO4 could have a massive chunk taken out of it. Seems the best time to get the game would either be day one or just wait until Christmas, hopefully where the game will also have a discount in place.
  13. This guy is worth watching for regular updates - stadium is coming along nicely but there's still much to do by the look of things. I'm happy that it's still at Wembley for the time being as it is really easy for me to get to.
  14. Good luck with that! Looks very interesting judging by the description. Try not to get an erection during the interview is my advice😎
  15. Oxford 0-3 Man City - no worse than Arsenal and even better than Cardiff fared last week. We had 7 key injuries and rested a couple of players for the weekend yet City turned up with David Silva, John Stones, Raheem Sterling, Ryiad Mahrez, Gabriel Jesus fucking christ, Vincent Kompany, Nico Ottamendi and Ilkay Gundogan! It was also a much closer game than the score and the stats suggested plus we kept them at bay for over half hour and they didn't seal it until the late 70's. The gulf in class is insane though and even a couple of the city fringe players looked like they could stroll into any other Prem team. Well done to Derby and Burton too last night!

    FIFA 19

It does look like they done a lot of work on the back-end nitty-gritty elements which is good. Can't fault the depth in that respect. Just wish there were more sweeping improvements to the general gameplay, mechanics and physics because a lot are overlooked due to the dated nature of the game as seen.
  17. Not much.....yet! I think quite a few are still on the fence even after experiencing the betas. Still hard to gauge whether it's a great package worth the £50/$60+ or a desperate last throw of the dice for the franchise to remain in the big time. I do think it'll be a popular game though and whilst it may not reach the heights of what the series once was, it'll still offer something for everybody. It could also grow more popular after launch depending on its initial reception. It's gonna be an interesting few weeks up until launch so I'm sure we'll be keeping our eyes on it.

    FIFA 19

I tried the FIFA 19 demo yesterday and it's more of a kid-friendly version of football. The gameplay is basic, the matches are frantic and you can score some crazy goals. The ball physics look very unnatural and the animations are wonky as hell. There is literally no tactics or midfield battle - you can go from defence to attack in 3 seconds because of the fast pace nature of the game and the very simple mechanics which are heavily assisted. It's a step back from even FIFA 12 and barely any different from last years game despite some claimed radical changes.
  20. This rarely happens sadly - most of the time the money is going straight to AAA publishers shareholders. Thankfully exclusivity like this is becoming less attractive because it's more costly for the game to piss the community off and miss out of revenue from sales rather than the lump sum offered for the timed exclusive rights.
  21. Shame really as they've made a few good ones and The Walking Dead was a very unique game a few years ago. I've also enjoyed their Batman titles, The Wolf Among Us and Tales From Borderlands. Didn't see this coming https://uk.ign.com/articles/2018/09/21/telltale-games-reportedly-shutting-down
