  1. Games 2 and 3 require a download no matter what. Whether that will be the full games or some 'update' as Activision call it is pretty irrelevant with that. Really don't know what Activision's excuse is but they've swerved all pressing questions on this. It's amazing that games like Crash Bandicoot and Uncharted can cram their respective games on no problem - my guess is they wanted the game boxed and shipped without it actually being finished.
  2. Oh dear! https://charlieintel.com/2018/08/04/current-bug-in-search-and-destroy-allows-you-to-respawn/
  3. I'm still on my iPhone 5s but it's on its 3rd battery. I'm gonna move away from Apple once this one bites the dust. Don't really need a phone that has X amount of extras - as long as I can call/text and use a select few apps I'm happy.
  4. First batch of problems acknowledged by Treyarch https://charlieintel.com/2018/08/03/treyarch-outlines-what-they-are-aware-of-after-day-1-of-black-ops-4-beta/ I so hope to god they remove the cursor UI and go back to basic navigation or at least give us the choice. These cursors for controllers are not trendy and their justification is pure cringe. I hope bunny hopping isn't going to grow into a major problem. I fucking hate this shit in battle royale games and other FPS titles - it looks ridiculous and it can botch the netcode meaning it's harder to play against. I'll be watching developments in the armour element closely but I get the feeling Treyarch aren't keen on budging - people at E3 were warning about this and although were 'only 24 hours into the beta'; it's not going to get any better.

I don't get how they had it so perfect on the 360 especially Xbox Live only to fuck it up on the Xbox One. The ludicrous thing is that the features it offers is no different to what the 360 had but just like Windows 10; instead of having a cleaner, condensed and more user-friendly interface; they've made it needlessly complicated and added so much additional fluff it's unbelievable. Seems technology companies want to use multi-layered menus and make them as unintuitive as possible to give them impression that they are deep and riddled with material. XB1 controller is definitely way ahead of the DS4 in every respect.
  6. Reading v Derby tonight! The football season has officially begun😎
  7. Another thing I noticed is that you call killstreaks in with triangle/Y now. Small things like that can lead to big irritations.
  8. I watched bits of Drift0r's stream and he got fucking battered in almost every match. There's no nades or special grenades so you're relying purely on the gunplay and that looks pretty horrendous. It looked so polished and clean on a LAN at E3 but 150 heath + shitty bullet detection/connection + armour and it's a nightmare by the look of things. The TTK and insta health regen seems fatally flawed and the UI and on screen HUD is ugly as hell.
  9. Thought this thread was going to be about Arsenal😎
  10. Only comes with one game on the disc and the rest has to be downloaded https://www.vg247.com/2018/08/02/spyro-reignited-trilogy-only-one-game-on-disc/ What's the point? May as well put the boot in and make it online only.
  11. Do beta keys get into circulation much? I don't want to pre-order and I don't want to pay for a key either but with no open beta date confirmed; I'm wanting to give it a try asap. There may be sites offering giveaways and whatnot but I haven't kept up with it.
  12. Yep, pretty much every rumour that has been reported into the mainstream media has been true so far and it wouldn't be published without some form of secondary verification source to back it up either. I firmly believe that the original Black Ops 4 was a terrible Overwatch-formatted hero shooter and when that drifted out of fashion towards the end of 2017 and battle royale became a prominent thing; Activision told Treyarch to bin it off including whatever campaign they had and all they could do was revert to the BO3 dev kit and scramble anything they could and then use the specialists as the face of the product which people generally hated from BO3. Raven are the ones doing the BR mode because Treyarch don't have time if the rumours are to be believed and the only stable and polished part of the package seems to be zombies which would be unaffected away from the MP part of the game. There is even deleted tweets from Vonderhaar which leaned to the fact they showed off material to testers which were rejected and he wasn't happy about it. The MP portion of the game will have probably been made in less than a year I bet.
  13. This will be in the beta - it's 6v6 with two of the same specialists allowed per team. The mode consists of TDM and KC. Hopefully there wont be more modes than players. If they're gonna go with a primary 5v5 then reverting to a 6v6 playlist kinda defeats the purpose and will just split the playerbase more. Maybe TDM and KC will remain traditional and just the objective-heavy modes will have a 5v5 and one specialist focus. If there's 5v5 TDM and KC separate and the CTDM too; that could become problematic especially with all the matchmaking bullshit.
  14. I'm waiting for the open beta. The game looks like it plays okay but it's very unambitious, dated and it's left me suspicious. There is no way this is the game Treyarch started working on 3 years ago - I bet they made an entirely different version of BO4 which was binned along with the campaign and instead had cobble together anything they could from the BO3 SDK and then make radical gameplay changes like 5v5 and manual health regen to give the appearance that it's had some major overhauls to further distance it from its BO3 similarities. I reckon the zombies portion is 100% genuine from scratch but with no campaign and a seemingly rushed multiplayer ripped straight from BO3 that looks worse than some Steam workshop creations; this isn't the game we were supposed to get especially with it being built around specialists that the majority didn't want. Blackout is also rumoured to have only entered development earlier this year and isn't even being produced by Treyarch. It's crazy how good COD was on a two year cycle with inferior technology compared to how it is now.
  15. I may get a Switch this year if there are some good deals going. It's about the only traditional games console left now.
  16. I'm gonna wait for a big price reduction before I consider it again especially as the reviews have been a bit iffy. I do think it's ideal for kids as it's not overly-complex but for an adults wallet; it's bloody pricey to say the least! Cities Skylines is a great alternative to Sim City although that may be a bit too complicated and deep especially if you have limited time to play.
  17. This is coming out in a couple of weeks (Aug 14th) on PC and PS4 and is basically a Cold War version of X-Com. Cautiously optimistic about this one
  18. Epic don't have time for things like account security - they are too busy devoting all their resources to developing Fornite and milking as much money as they can while the game is popular.
  19. Emile Heskey joins Chelsea on two year deal.
  20. $100/£90 a year/$15/£15 a month gets you access to EA's entire Origin catalogue which includes all new games and their deluxe editions including all DLC. This is actually a very good subscription service offering as you could pick up FIFA 19, Battlefield 5 deluxe, Madden 19, Anthem and every other EA game in existence on the platform all for £90. Battlefield 5 deluxe alone is £70 and with the standard FIFA being £50; that's £120 in total for both games standalone. It's a great saving plus you get to play the games early and have all DLC included. Now would be a pretty good time to opt in considering the amount of upcoming and pricey EA games and the savings to be had https://www.gamespot.com/articles/ea-launches-service-with-unlimited-access-to-its-p/1100-6460823/
  21. Beta trailer plus Blackout snippet at the end
  22. I bought it yesterday with some spare wallet funds on Steam and refunded it soon after. I do appreciate the work that developers have put into the game but it's still only a shadow of what it should have been two years ago and just shows how terrible and bare the original game was. I didn't find it fun even with the update features - it's just mining and grinding and dealing with some of the most poorly implemented menus imaginable. The game seems intriguing at first but it becomes repetitive fairly quickly and unless you have a very vivid role-play imagination; it's the same old stuff over and over with generic tasks added on top. Much has been added with Next but that was the expectation and the obligation - I also cannot help but feel this game wouldn't have been as heavily supported if no Xbox One version was commissioned. There is so many better, deeper and more immersive games out there like Subnautica and The Forest. I still can't work out how No Man's Sky managed to brainwash so many people in the first place and whilst this update does give people something more two years later; it doesn't really do anything truly unique as a videogame despite wowing in terms of asset-algorithmic variety and quantity. I do think a fair few people would enjoy it especially online with friends and in the sale, it's quite an attractive price but now we are entering the business time of the year when new games are coming out and existing popular games are thriving. I just dunno how long NMS can remain rejuvenated but it does deserve another chance especially after the scandalous start. The game is optimised like a piece of shit though so be warned.
