  1. Congratulations Dylan! What did you name the chap?
  2. Every time I use an AR I get ripped by SMG's yet when I choose SMG's, I get torn by AR's.
  3. It's fucking unreal that these morons can happily have a YouTube channel advertising this illegal practice and Google do nothing about it. Epic should be suing them too.
  4. I feel multiplayer has getting worse for me last couple of sessions - either I'm now being fucked by the SBMM which means I'm being matched with sweaty tryhards because of a good recent run of matches, or people are beginning to learn the game better and unlock more powerful shit that you get at the later levels which drastically affects matches. As usual, my teams are usually utter shite - I lost a few matches earlier despite comfortably finishing top each time only to see a couple of twats at the bottom of the scoreboard doing nothing but feeding the opposition easy kills. I seriously hope Treyarch haven't flipped that skill-based matchmaking switch and I'm just on a miserable run of facing tryhards and being paired with trash. May have a breather and stick with Blackout for a bit - had a 5 kill solo game the other day and was unlucky not to win and surprisingly, it feels more relaxed that the frantic nonsense you get in core MP.
  5. No, that's just a picture of Dylan😎
  6. Spain 1-3 England in the UEFA Johnstones Paint Trophy! Brilliant result if we hang onto this lead...
  7. Think Dan is right here - you essentially have 389 'EKIA' with 200 of them being 100% damage dealt kills of only your doing. That leaves 189 assists or clean up kills where you fired the final bullet or contributed damage in which a team mate finished the job.
  8. The weapon unlocks have huge gaps too so if you're primarily a AR/SMG user which most people are; there's only really 4 weapons available until level 25. There's also not much available in terms of perks and equipment either. Leveling weapons for key attachments can also take a bit of time so high ranked players are likely to be heavily kitted out with access to weapons, attachements, perks and equipment that lower ones don't have access to.
  9. Haven't tried them all yet but I quite like Nomad as you get a tripwire to place which can be fun and really piss off the opposition as you can place it near their spawn hidden and it remains even after you've died. The main ability is an annoying dog to add insult to injury! The tripwire does take me back to the old claymore placement MW2 days.
  10. This is definitely a decent Call of Duty game. It's early days but I can already tell this is far better than any of the COD's we've had on the current gen. It may look like a BOTG version of BO3 with gameplay changes ripped from all other popular titles of late but actually it works fairly well despite some overly-chaotic moments and general frustrations. Definitely a much better game than it would appear in video and on paper. Leading up to release and even during the beta it felt like the game was a desperate alternate BO3 with stacks of needless changes and excess fluff but all in all; everything functions pretty good and has clearly been well thought out. Specialists are also done very well - not OP like BO3 but they offer enjoyment and tactical opportunities that benefit you and the team. If you can get through the brutal slow leveling early on and the fact higher ranked players will be far better equipped; it can be a great experience. It's not perfect by any means but the package is a whole represents decent value even without a campaign.
  11. My power level is around 56😎
  12. I just played a 5v5 DOM match with Dan94 against a team of high ranked g-fueled Mountain Dew Dorito tryhards and it was even more frantic than 6v6. Chaos TDM may have two more players and be crazy but that is definitely where the pure fun seems to lie. 5v5 is more competitive, objective focused and strategic but you no doubt run into 'pro' teams, stompers and general sweaties. It was entertaining as we done them 200v199 in the last second whilst they were spawn trapping. I clinched B with a trip mine to turn the game around and then saved it with an RCXD whilst we were pinned back in our spawn again! Didn't help that it was 4v5 for a third of the game either in their favour. If you're running solo, definitely Chaos TDM is the place to go despite the messy carnage - 5v5 ironically seems even more crazy.
  13. Chaos TDM is a mix of Team Deathmatch and Kill Confirmed with 6v6 and you can have 2 of the same specialists on the same team. The standard TDM and KC modes which you can only select individually in the HC playlists I think. *Edit ignore that - I've just seen on a video you can select each mode individually in core also but it's harder to navigate in the packed menus which is why I failed to locate it so far! My game just defaulted to Chaos TDM so I've been playing that and it seems very popular. May try 5v5 later to see how it plays - I imagine it'll be more calm and balanced for sure!
  14. Another issue that's crept into the final game form the beta is the 'Return to combat zone' warning timer that pops up when you're even in the white circle. I haven't come across this yet but players are even reporting getting automatically killed despite being comfortably in the safe zone because they can't evade the timer. This will need patching badly also as it essentially punishes players for good positioning. If it's a deliberate implementation to keep players on the move then it's fatally flawed.
  15. How did this oversight slip through the net!!? Basically you can perform an emote which reverts the character into 3rd person which can give you a huge tactical advantage at any time. This is a bit of a calamity from Treyarch but it has been acknowledged to be patched at least. Not sure how they missed this but it's a pretty embarrassing mistake despite their alleged rigorous testing.

Do you have to deal a certain amount of damage to claim the kill even if you don't land the final bullet(s) ? I was going 0-6 yesterday and ready to rage quit only to check the scoreboard and see myself top with 12 'kills'. I'm guessing you get rewarded if you shoot someone and they die prior to replenishing their health whether you landed the final hit or it was someone else. Seems like it's a combination of kills and assists. I also assume that if they regain their health, if someone else kills them entirely, that means you don't receive anything. If this is the case then it's a pretty good system especially with health regen and amount of bullets required where you may do 75% of the damage but someone else finishes the job.
  17. I quite liked Jungle in BO and was happy to see it return in BO4 but it has this weird brown/red/rusty aesthetic like Redwood from BO3 and I don't really like that plus it makes it trickier to spot players in certain places. I would've preferred the old style.
  18. Spawns are absolutely horrendous to the extent, I'd rather join at a becon with a 'danger' warning rather than trust the standard spawn that the game gives. Even on the bigger maps I find myself spawning in front of people and getting shot from behind. The kick in the teeth is that the map prior shows plenty of safe spaces which you never get. I'm on PS4 temporarily until my PSN time card runs out and then I'll make a decision whether to carry on with a full PSN membership on a console that hasn't worked properly for years or buy the PC version which is great for Battle Royale but doesn't have a big MP population. I would like to stick with PS4 in all honesty but I'll probably have to bite the bullet and get a Pro in the sale as the original one is showing its age plus mine is on its last legs as it is! I've only been doing Chaos TDM/KC but will have to look at the other modes for a change of pace. Just hope I'm on teams where they play the bloody objective - even playing kill confirmed; walking 5 yards to pick up a crucial tag is too much for some players. There's always some douche on the leaderboard who has 34 kills but under 5 tags and is 4th on the team!
  19. I got to level 19 at the end of day one and my experience did improve over the course of the day but I still have mixed feelings about the overall game. Getting started was quite tough especially against higher ranked players but now I've unlocked a couple of decent AR's and SMG's plus some attachments and perks; I feel I can compete better. Leveling seems very slow so you just have to weather early pressure to unlock the create a class and then some decent guns. Matches all kinda play out the same though - fast paced, erratic and pure carnage. For a game with such tactical elements; all of those really go out of the window particularly with randoms in the core playlists. I do miss the variety that Dan mentioned above with different styles of play on each map on the old games but the best way to keep things fresh here is to alternate the specialists and just have fun with those.
  20. Just tried a couple of Blackout matches and finished 6th and 5th with two kills in each game. I think I'm going to enjoy this mode a lot more than the core multiplayer. It's not as fast or as erratic plus ironically, this mode is far more tactical. It's also nice to play on a large map as opposed to these 3 lane shoeboxes. Kills are very satisfying too. I don't think I could play this over and over like the MP modes but could be great fun in half hour bursts here and there. Player count seems to be 88 like the beginning of the beta which is great to start with but the mid-game is a bit barren as around 50 get eliminated before the end of the first circle and then you only have a handful fighting on a rather large landscape as the match slows to a crawl. It will be interesting to see how this mode grows in time - I don't like Fortnite but Epic have done a marvelous job in developing the game from a technical perspective and keeping users constantly engaged with new ideas and appealing features. Blackout is going to be a test for Treyarch to demonstrate their originality over time rather than just relying on copying other games. The foundation is definitely in place and it still needs work but as long as it can keep people on board, this will be far more successful going forward than the MP IMO.
  21. I'm probably going to have to revisit hardcore mode for the first time since the original Black Ops it's that bad. Just amazing that you shoot someone 5 times in the head and they don't die yet you can be shredded with 3 shots to the shins with full 150 health. It's borderline bullet-sponge at times. I've also had a string of outrageous lucky kills which defy the netcode but I'm not accepting that as balancing itself out especially if this BS behaviour is also prominent in Blackout.
  22. Only played the MP so far and I've already had enough of it. I don't think I've ever seen a game where matches flow so badly, combat is so messy and maps are just littered with corners, headglitch spots and camping areas. The classic maps also demonstrate for me how bad the game plays when compared to the original Black Ops. The bullet detection is the worst I have ever seen in the franchise where it takes an age to get a kill but you can get taken down in seemingly one bullet. Treyarch have really gotten out of jail with this mess thanks to the fashionable Blackout, and I'll be trying that later. If that aspect is good, that's all I'll be playing pretty much.
  23. I prefer digital on PC nowadays as it's cheap keys on the latest releases but with console, I prefer physical as I do like to collect some classics plus I can trade games in. I bought Spiderman for £48, finished it and traded it in for £41 10 days later for instance, so I could get another full priced game already in the knowledge that I've got my money's worth out of a game which I finished and will never play again for just £7. Digital prices on console are outrageous though - £60 is disgusting for new games especially if you can get a physical version for £40. It's convenient if you hate disc-swapping and clogging up space plus you can get some cheap deals through the XBL/PSN stores in the sale but it really adds up on new titles especially if they have a season pass, meaning a new release could cost upwards of £100. There is also not many games worth collecting these days on the current gen and as we've seen with Black Ops 4, the disc versions contains literally fuck all of the game so going forward, they'll be worth sod all. I do have some amazing collections of classic games particularly big box ones on PC that are worth decent money but the way gaming is going; digital will probably soon take over even on console. Retailers are also reluctant of buying up large stocks of products because they don't want to inject too much money in stock that may have to be sold at a loss months later or turn dead - GAME are still sitting on countless copies of Football Manager 2014, Battleborn and Evolve for example. They'd rather have minimal game stocks with most being pre-orders and then money being put into high-margin goods such as console bundles and peripherals which are the big sellers this time of the year. As long as streaming games doesn't become a norm; I'll be happy with digital on mainstream titles on PC and physical for major console exclusives. I'd struggle to spend more than £40 on a new game so new PSN titles is a no-go for moi.
