  1. Being American I have no idea what a Quid even converts to in USD...but I will say 3 quid sounds about 2 quids too much for this movie
  2. Sciatica is a real bitch. I've have had it myself for the past 4-5 years now and at times it gets really bad. A few months ago when talking with a friend whom also has it he suggested something that worked for him which was simply putting a small pillow at the base of your spine when sitting for long periods. Since I sit at the work bench for 6-10 hrs per day building rods for my rod business I decided to give that a try. It has seemed to help a great deal, my sciatica pain I would say has decreased by at least 80% a few days after starting with the pillow. Hopefully it continues to stay this way because my sciatica pain was getting pretty bad there for a while.
  3. He was my 2nd favorite Bond right behind Sean Connery, but not far behind at all. It really sucks to lose him but he really did live a long wonderful full life. Great actor and a great man.
  4. Always hard for me to like a movie when it is a sequel or remake or anything at all when it deals with a movie I loved from 20-30 yrs prior. I am going to go into it with an open mind though and just hope for the best.
  5. Avoided all the crazies this holiday weekend and headed North for a couple days mid week to get some work done on the cabin. I can never go near the Au Sable without sneaking in some fishing so after getting the yard work done yesterday evening I grabbed the 10wt fly rod and a box of pike flies I have been tying the past few weeks and hit the river for a couple hours. It was more like an October day with the cold drizzle and fog but was well worth it since I had numerous smaller pike chase the fly and then on the last cast this nice one just nail the streamer and put up a heck of a good fight.
  6. Been doing some work on the big tank tonight. Added some manzanita style branches which I took from a different tank I recently took down. Cut the ends flat and mounted them to the underside of the acrylic top so that they hang down into the tank to look like roots hanging down. Been up and running for about 2 months now and I added the 2nd fx5 filter about a month ago which has fully seeded now so even after almost 2 weeks nitrates barely even read 20ppm. By far my most enjoyable tank I have built. I enjoy my morning coffee in front of it just about every day.
  7. Been watching Star Wars movies all day (what do you expect on Star Wars Day!)
  8. Cork is the traditional material used for grips, so it's part of the design.
  9. I had a guy I know make the wood rod tube. He's done some in the past for himself so I sub contracted him out to do this one for this package. The green in the grip is dyed green beech wood.
  10. Most you guys know I run my own business building custom rods for anglers. Recently I was contacted by a group of guys that wanted an extremely high end custom rod package to present to one of their friends/fellow employee that is about to retire. So this is the rod package I just finished up today for them. All hand made parts in this one with wood grip and I contracted out the hand made wood rod tube to be build, lots of engraving was done my a professional engraver on the reel seat hardware and such. Came out really nice but boy was there a lot of tedious care put into the build of this one. Glad its done and out of my hair now
  11. Watched a movie today called "Wrecker" about an old tow truck rig with a crazy driver that chases two young girls down the hwy. If you have ever seen a movie with Dennis Weaver from back in the 1970's called 'Duel" then you have seen Wrecker. They copied the hell out of Duel with this Wrecker movie.
  12. Oh man Contra! I totally forgot about that use to love that game!...up up down down left right left right BA select start!!!!! LOL
  13. Red Dead Redemption Skyrim MW2 GTA San Andreas Legend of Zelda (NES original version of the game)
  14. Watched Angels & Demons (Tom Hanks) last night. Wasn't terrible but I don't think I would say it was good either. Defiantly did not need to be over 2 hours long like it was. Made for a bit of a long lack luster movie IMO.
  15. Since I upgraded my cable box in the shop to the new X1 I now have On Demand down there so I'm able to watch a lot more movies while I work now. Just watched Fargo for the first time, even though it's 20 yrs old I never bothered watching it. Back when it came out 20 yrs ago it won all these awards and was said to be a great movie etc etc. I can sum it up in one word....OVERFRIGGINRATTEDTURD! What a boring slow movie piece of crap movie. I should have known it was a Cohen Bros movie because I hate most all their crap. Uhg Fargo, there's 98mins of my life I will never get back!
  16. Rented The Time Machine last night. I saw it when it first came out about 15 years ago but saw it was on the free movies On Demand so had to watch it again last night since I had not seen it in so long. Probably would seem like a bit of a goofy movie to some but I have always liked that flick for some reason
  17. If you could fly fish in the game ...then I'd be on it like a trout on a fly!
  18. Baabcat l've heard some people that give up bread thinking it is not good for them, but there's no need to give it up if you don't want to do so. Just look for the healthier breads that are out there. I eat a lot of bread myself even during my big weight loss. There is one made by a company called Healthy Life which is only 35 calories per slice and high in fiber (5g per slice). It's slightly higher priced than some but can be found for about $2 a loaf at most places so not too bad a price.
  19. Oddly enough I just watched another Daniel Radcliffe last night. A movie called Imperium. It was totally out of character for what you would expect from him because he played an undercover FBI agent that posed as a skinhead. I thought it was probably going to suck, but it was actually really good. He really showed he can play a very different role for him. If you get a chance rent it it's well worth seeing.
  20. I am very conscious of what I eat these days. After losing all that weight a few years ago I pretty much stuck to counting calories and avoiding junk food. Got away from it a bit over the winter and was eating a bit more garbage but went back to healthy eating again about 3 months ago and dropped another 34lbs plus my BP is back to what is considered the optimal range. Eating right is not just a diet, it's a lifestyle, I learned that some years ago. So these days I count calories, watch my sodium and sugar intake and avoid the stuff that is just empty calories or high in things that does me no good.
  21. It's made a HUGE different in my pocket. I use to smoke Newport, pack a day. They are $7 a pack so that's a just over $15,000 I've saved since quitting. Probably would not have all my nice fish tanks and new fishing gear and such if I was still burning up my cash in smoke.
  22. Good for you James keep on with it and you will be amazed just how much better everything gets as you get further and further into being smoke free. Around the 6-8 month mark you will really start to notice a huge difference in how much more energy and stamina for active things you have now. Since you're 4 moths into it you probably already are noticing but I know my first year smoke free it was unreal just how much better I was able to sleep at night as well. No coughing while trying to sleep and not waking up at odd hours to go have a smoke. Stick with it man it will only keep getting better for you.
  23. Today is a special day for me. Today marks exactly 6 years since the day I finally decided to become a non smoker. At the time I was smoking over a pack a day and tried everything I could find to quite but nothing worked long term for me. Then finally 6 years ago I just got up one morning and simply decided I was tired of slowly killing myself, so I tossed out what I had on me and have not touched a single cigarette since that day. One of the very best decisions I ever made in my life by far.
  24. Very true. It's always hard seeing someone that has played such an iconic well known role play something else. I have the same problem seeing Elijah Wood in anything because in my mind all I'm seeing is Frodo
  25. Speaking of Harry Potter I watched a movie the other day with the guy that plays Harry Potter (Daniel Radcliff or whatever his name is) it was called "Horns". OMG was it dumb
