  1. One of my other hobbies are RC monster trucks. Most of the ones I have are 1/10 & 1/8 scale trucks which I built myself by custom fabricating steel tube chassis with a tubing bender and brazing the joints to give it very high strength. About a year ago I decided to just go all out and built the biggest & baddest most scale looking Rc truck I possibly could build. It took me just over 10 months from start to finish, over 400+ hours of work, and honestly I could have bought a decent shape real truck for the amount of money I have invested into this thing, but it really is an absolute blast to drive this thing. It's about 33" long, almost 24" tall and 24" wide and weighs in at exactly 50lbs. I have around 200 hours just into the build of the tube chassis itself. I built it all out of 5/16" .062 wall steel tube. Axles are custom pieces made by a guy here in the US that makes them in small batches (Hess machine makes them). It uses a Castle 800kv brushless sensored motor and a Castle XLX2 ESC. Has a pair of SMC 9700mah graphine extreme lipos for 8s power. I made everything on it myself such as the headers are steel tube with plumbing fittings bent and ground down to look like real headers. Motor mount I fabed up out of aluminum angle stock and polished. Shocks are Xmaxx shocks I stripped the color off of and polished then refit with higher rate springs. Center diff is a spool (locker) out of a Losi DBXL. Drivers seat I made out of some sheet metal and then I 3D printed some gauges and such as well as numerous other scale parts. Body I airbrushed myself, another hobby I enjoy, and the chassis I had a local place powder coat for me bright yellow. Here are some pics of it. I'm not sure how this site does videos but I'll try to upload a couple vids of it running as well after the pictures. The other trucks in a couple pics are normal 1/10 scale ones I have to give a size comparison.
  2. Nope that wasn't me. I have always SUCKED with the sniper rifle 😁
  3. Not sure how to post pics here yet again, but hopefully this works and the pics show. This is the theater room I mentioned that I built about 2 yrs ago in my attic. Makes for a great place for not just movies but also gaming. Right now it has normal 5.1 surround sound, but sometime down the line I'd like to upgrade that to something newer for movies and games. Yeah that didn't work. Let me try this again lol
  4. Hey cool to see some names I remember. I do still have two tanks but I have downsized about 6 months ago. I had a giant 240g tank full of cichlids which was really nicely done. But when I had that big tank as well as the various other 75g-125g ones it got to where I was spending anywhere from 6-10hrs per week just cleaning them and doing maintenance on them. So I downsized and now only have two tanks. A 75g and a 120g. I keep mostly Bichirs now which are a really cool prehistoric type fish. Thanks tronic, it sure was very hard when we lost her because it was not something expected. She had went to the ER thinking it was something not too bad, ended up being two things called thymoma and aplastic anema (not sure spelling is right) and long story short she quit breathing the 2nd night at the hospital. Ended up on a ventilator and ICU for 5 weeks, had a surgery and they said it went great, then 1 day later got a sepsis infection and we lost her about 2 days after that. I was a mess for about a year after that but finally able to get back to myself this past year.
  5. You know how it is when you get old, time starts to blend together lol. Seems like it's been longer than that but then again sometimes I forget what day it is...so there's that 😁 Rod business is going great. Last year was probably my best year for sales in the entire 19 yrs I've been in business so I can't complain one bit about that. I put some money aside over the past few months so I could take a nice long extended fishing trip alone this spring so just starting to get ready for that now, I leave Thursday for that and plan to stay on the trip at least 2 weeks or more. Had a real rough couple month patch there this spring. Had some ear issues and went to the ENT and they did microsuction to clean my ears which had a VERY bad reaction for me. It gave me the worst case of tinnitus you could ever imagine. The first 5 weeks were so bad I honestly didn't know how I was going to go on living with that constant sound in my head. Had a few days of some VERY dark thoughts because it was just driving me insane. Thankfully it finally started to slowly ease off. I'd say now I'm about 90% better. I lost my Sister two years ago sadly. That was extremely hard on me because we were very close. She was only 51 yrs old. Other than that doing well. Been eating right and exercising a lot and lost another 55lbs this year (started at 400lbs 9 yrs ago and down to 210lbs now). Still love fly fishing and doing my bonsai trees. Still into RC hobby as well. Recently finished building a all custom tube frame 1/5 scale Monster truck that weighs 50lbs and does about 35mph. That thing is a blast. Still do some gaming, mostly COD, UFC, Red Dead, and a few others. Haven't been able to play much recently but I plan to do more when I get back from my fishing trip at the end of next month. About 2 years ago I turned my attic into a home theater/gaming room so I have a great place to do it now. I'll have to dig up some pics of the theater room I built, I think you'll enjoy seeing it. Did it in a whole Lord of The Rings, Game of Thrones, Medieval type them so has a real cool look to it.
  6. Hey gang. Not sure who is still around from the old days but talked to Lee a couple months ago and he mentioned this site was still around and I had been meaning to come check up on it for some time now but just had so much going on I never got around to it till now. This is Steve, use to be active here many years ago. Can't even remember how long it's been, maybe 6...8 years ...longer perhaps? It was back in the days with Tommy, Lee, Jason, Dave and some of the other old timers. Not sure if any of them are still around or not. Gonna take me a bit to check out this whole new looking site (new to me at least :) ) but just wanted to say hello before I started looking around again here. Steve
  7. Watched some movie last night on SyfY called "Animal" about a group of kids trapped in some cabin by some demon animal/alien. It was okay for a 3am movie. Two things though....#1 where did this animal/alien come from? #2.....Why the fuck is the Science Fiction Channel called "ScFy"? Where did the "Y" come from?
  8. Jammin out to some my time shit again (timeless IMO) though.. . . .
  9. It's on CBS Wednesday nights at 9pm.
  10. Now I'm probably just showing my age, I sooo remember this song well though. Cruising down the strip out front of my high school back in the late 80's with this blasting out the windows od my 66 GTO when I was a senior in high school....I'll stop now, because I'm feeling older even than Plumbers crack now (bet he remember this too though)
  11. Dunno why, because I have listened to them for years on & off, but I'm on a Ramstein kick these past few weeks for some reason.
  12. Has anyone else been watching this new show called Salvation that started back in July? I started watching it just because nothing else was new in the summer but wow, now I'm friggin hooked. It's a great show. And and a bonus (you guys know my weakness for redheads) it has this woman Jennifer Finnigan in it whom at the moment I am 100% deeply in love with!!! lol
  13. I think I got what you're saying. So basically they are just mounted in the front panel and connected to the MB with the pin cable then correct? I was concerned I'd have to remove something like the MB or some important stuff that I might screw up and you guys would never hear from me again because I'd be offline lol Sounds like maybe a pretty easy thing then. Gonna have to do it for sure. I only have one port working now and I have to wiggle it like crazy to get it that one to even work.
  14. Have been having issues with the dual USB ports on my PC for awhile. Now they are fully jacked up and need to be replaced. I've messed a round a bit with some parts in the past like changing PS units and such but never USB ports on the front of a PC. I looked it up online and it doesn't look to be all that hard. Is it a pretty straight fwd thing to do or is there anything I need to be really careful of when I do it?
  15. Just looked it up. Not out yet but is supposed to release Aug 22nd
  16. Damn I forgot all about Guardians of the Galaxy 2. That came out not long before I went on vacation and I totally forgot about it, I'll have to rent that this week!
  17. Right now the only thing I want to see that I haven't yet is the new War for the Planet of the Apes. I need to get to see that at the theater before it is no longer showing. Movies like that need to be seen on the big screen.
  18. I've been meaning to pick this game up for a long time because it's been $15 at Walmart for quite a while now. While on vacation a few weeks ago my Nephew brought his PS4 to the cabin with us and he had this game. I put about siz hours of playtime into it on vacation and was hooked! Just finally picked it up today and have been playing it for about 3 hrs now. No idea why it took me so long to buy this, it's a helluva good game.
  19. Just watched John Wick :Chapter 2. Only bad thing I have to say about it is that they wreck a beautiful 70 Chevelle & 67 Mustang in the first 5 mins of the film. With that said, it is a flat out AWESOME movie. Not too often do I like a squeal better than the original but I did this one. First one was good but this one is even better. They left the ending so they can continue on with the franchise and I certainly hope they continue with at least a couple more. If you haven't seen it yet check it out. 100% pure guy movie you will love!
  20. Watched the latest Jack Reacher movie tonight. Really good movie I enjoyed it a lot. I hate Tom Cruise with a passion as a person because he has WAAAAY to inflated of an ego, but he is a good actor I have to give him credit for that.
  21. In memory of Chester. I hate Jay Z...but for some reason I have always liked this version of numb, it just had a great sound/flow to it.
  22. Thanks guys. Well, no beer, I'm a recovering alcoholic (have been for years ) but the Hawaiian punch tastes good out there
  23. I was on vacation when I heard, what a bummer. I always was and still am a big fan of Linkin Park, just really like their sound.
  24. Only bad thing about being gone on vacation for 2 weeks is that the weeds take over the garden. Spent the past 3 days pulling weeds and working on the bonsai garden literally 6-8hrs each day. Finally all back in shape with weeds all gone and shrubs all trimmed and shaped. Also found a pair of large pots at a yard sale last month and didn't know what to do with them. So today I cleaned them up and flipped the bottom one mounting the top one to the flipped one making a huge vase shape. Then sank some blocks into the ground for a platform and replanted my 5 tree spruce bonsai forest into it. Next spring there are plans to dig about a 600-700g pond further back since the Koi are now closing in on a foot long.
