  1. I saw the processor being a third gen (Ivybridge?) and thought that is the same gen as mine, then I read the 1.9Ghz bit I guess having a desktop has its advantage as the base clock of mine is 3.4Ghz. The clockspeed would hurt but I'm guessing that being a laptop Dave you might only be running integrated graphics too??? which is what I'm guessing really hurts your gaming performace Though for me too as I just lost my first game as pirates destoryed everything. Time to start again but this time with bigger fleet
  2. Nice Lee I downloaded it last night and only meant to have a quick go which turned out to be several hours - oops! It is going to take a while to get used to it all and keep track of it all as there is a lot going on. Especially keeping my ships busy, I kept finding my science and construction ships were doing nothing so I need to monitor them closer. I think the only thing I can say so far is the tutorial could be a bit better, especially right at the beginning, as it tells you to do stuff but gives no indication of what menu or sub-menu to go in to or shortcut key to press.
  3. Thanks for the that @J4MES OX4D it sounds like the vanilla game is good enough to be getting on with for now then and the DLC can be picked up later. Have you not bought it yet Lee? It was the cdkeys offer I was looking at too. I know there is a multiplayer in it too which could be good to try if there is a few of us. Though I'm not sure how it works being that the game could go on for hours and hours? Like, does one person host it and we would have to arrange a time everyone could make to continue it? Even if we don't go multiplayer, a few of us learning it all at the same time would be good
  4. I’ve watched a few videos on this and it looks good. It’s been a long time since I played any sort of strategy game. Are guys playing the base game or with the DLC’s. I’ve read a lot of comments saying the DLC’s really add to the game but buying the game and all the DLC is quite a chunk on a new game.

    New World!

Well you never know but it actually helps me out as something happens as you move around so disabling it means I don't constantly trigger it as I'm building other bits No worries dude, though a sign you need to finish building your house

    New World!

It took faaaar longer than I care to admit to work out how to do it but should be good. The first part of it is built, I built that last week. This screenshot is the second part of the build But you’re right it wouldn’t do you any good as I disabled the first past of the build incase anyone was curious

    New World!

Can you guess what it is yet? After spending most of the last week testing ideas, rebuilding, trouble shooting, failing, building and more trouble shooting it finally works Now I just have to rebuild the whole thing without any mistakes on the server
  8. I’m good for making videos, I just need the clips. I haven’t been proactive in looking on the forum for them or chasing people but with Rich out the game i’ll get on it.

    New World!

I've started building something East of spawn. From the outside it will just look like a hole in the ground with a fence around it. I've put a sign up as well so you know it is definitely my build. I'm only mentioning it as I would kindly ask that you don't climb down the hole until I have finished the build - all I will say is it is something communal but it will work best as a surprise so no peaking
  10. Haha yeah I know but by the pictures a lot of places near Dave look like people renting spare rooms as BnB’s so picked some options based on what acually looks like a hotel.
  11. Looking at hotels on ye old Trivago, I guess it comes down to what people want to spend. There’s the cheap and basic travelodge about a mile away for about £80 a night, some nicer looking ones if you go for around £130-£150 a night like Park plaza Riverbank at around 3 miles away. Obviously it is London though so the skys the limit when it comes to prices so if anyone wants to hire a presidential suite for us all feel free

    Road Work

I spent longer than I meant to planning some redstone in a creative world so I didn't manage to build as much as the roof as I planned. I left a chest though full of stone, bone blocks etc. if anyone gets on before I get to finish it.
  13. I'll have a look later and speak to Stretch too We might as well all go the same way if we can.
  14. @Diddums Yup of course I'm going to be there as for where to stay, any recomendations for places near yours? P.S. Tell Kyla we'll just get take out

    Road Work

Anyone can do anything I was planning on doing it in the same symetrical fashion but if you have your own ideas then do whatever I'll be on shortly do some anyway so don't feel you have to do any of it

    Road Work

Haha well I hope I make it on the server between now and August

    Road Work

Yeah no worries, everything has been manic since coming back to work but hoping for an earlier finish today so I'll try and get some of it done tonight.

    Brewing?

I've built a brewing building in the spawn, I thought being for potions I'd build it as a sort of overgrown wicked witches house but you should be able to find it. I've stocked it with 5 brewing stands and almost every ingredient needed to brew potions. The only things missing are ghast tears which should only take a little hunting in the nether and dragons breath which is a little harder to get.

    New World!

Basically is breaks blocks as they are. Dig a dirt block with grass on with a normal shovel and you end only get dirt but silk touch will break it with the grass still on. Same applies to things like picks, break a stone block and you get cobblestone but with silk touch you'll get a stone block. It has limited uses though as if you break ores like diamond, emerald or redstone you'll end up with the block (like you do for iron etc.) rather than the actual diamonds, emeralds or redstone dust. Thanks man, not my house but I'm sure I can find them Edit: I found them thanks. I built that house just for looks but it isn’t my actual house.

    New World!

If you don’t want the silk touch shovel, I’ll take it off your hands. I’ve been after silk touch for a while as I want some grass blocks.
  21. I created it and remebered I can't do Sunday either I deleted the calendar but I guess it doesn't delete the associated thread also. I'll arrange something for next week I think as the calendar is pretty full this week already.

    Road Work

I like the design but I think it looks a little out of proportion being too wide for its height, I'm wondering if, similar to the stairs, the tunnel should be 3 blocks wide with the spruce pillars being on top of the polished andesite. The problem then I think is it might look too narrow

    New World!

I'll set up a calendar event later, see if we can organise something to get everyone on who keeps saying they mean to join. Also, I changed the sign outside your house
  25. Greboth

    Road Work

I’ve done some work in the tunnel to make it look better. I’m not 100% on the design but worth a look when you’re on to give your opinion.
