    I'll have to give the Mach Forty a go 🙂 I don't own it but I can easily buy it. Any car with good straight line speed will be good round here so I can see why the Vulcan could suffer. I've also got the Aston Martin One-77 which could be handy. I think I'll have to log on and mess around with all the cars and see which one seems to the best and give a fast lap another go. It is a challenge producing the reference laps, balancing the need to do some practice to drive a relatively fast lap with posting it early enough in the week to be useful. Still it show the lines to take and where time can be gained but if the Mach40 or other car is signifcantly faster, I can alwas record another lap 🙂

    How are the AI on console Phil? On PC, They’re not perfect but they’re some of my favourite AI’s. As they can really push, seem to take chances at making passes and don’t back out if you squeeze them. Which makes me wonder if/how the AI is different on console.

    Why is there no voting buttons? But whatevs, I’m in. It was a great laugh last time. Are we playing the same rules as before? £5 buy in wasn’t it? I’m also hoping I have a bit more luck this time around.

    Yup, it is. I did a few laps with the Lambo to record the below but last time we used the N800 class I found the Aston Martin Vulcan faster. So I'll be giving the a go even though it's such a pig to drive. I was quite surprised by AC, the SLS handles quite differently in AC than GT. I've had some massive oversteer moments in AC but find the GT Sport version quite stable. In AC, the track is slightly different too, it's more slippery running wide between T2 and T3 and it's horrible trying to hop the kerbs at the chicane at the end of the lap. Reference laps for y'all too. As for round 1, these are done after 5-10 laps so I know there's room for improvement but should work well as a guide. GT Sport (1:34.582) - Part of a clean lap round here to really cut the chicane at turns 2, 3 & 4 - even in sport mode you can hook one wheel inside the sausage kerbs and get away with it. Plenty of time is also gained getting a good run out of t4, the chican and the final corner - though on this lap I went a bit too deep in to T13 and T14. AC (2:01.114) - Similar to above, you can get a decent chunk of time if you get out of the hairpin at the bottom of the hill (T8), T12 and the final corner. Most of the rest of the track is just about keeping your minimum corner speeds up.

    I ticked merch and other as now the funny business is out the way with my pc I’ll be getting back to the logo’s. I’m not sure what stuff you need for merch but seems more my expertise than the rest. We’ve also spoken about the guides before but I think now is a good time to actually pull my finger out and do them. Current plans are to do the Minecraft ones properly and not just buried in a random thread. Though I’ve got some stuff to add to them and to learn myself how some mods work. I’ve also though about doing a racing one, I’m far from the fastest drivers around but I’ve been doing it a long time and can share my knowledge.

    Ahhhhh I get you now. Yeah you have to really cut that corner to get a good run down the Kemmel straight. I cut it a little more than I probably should have as I was a little wide of the apex of the up hill right hander (Raidillon). GT Sport is quite lax about track limits but I figure we're all gentlemen.....well honourable....well mostly honest here.

    Wut?! 🤨 Not sure what you mean but you can see the lines I take in the video of my lap I posted earlier in the thread. Nice time though, putting laps together is always hard especially long laps like Spa.

    I forgot to say, change them for the Racing Super Softs. Tyres don't wear in time trial so there's no downside to using the super softs 🙂

    Definitely change them! I don’t know the exact time difference but you’re probably looking at 2+ seconds a lap. Maybe even up to 4 or 5 with the length of Spa.

    Bloody hell Lee! You really do need to play this game more if you haven't unlocked everything yet 😆 I've never really played the console version but PC it tells you can enable the hud that tells you your best lap of the session. It should also tell you your best lap when you quit a session. 4000 points though? no idea, is there a drift points mode on AC? As for the handling, unfortunately default AC setups range from pretty good to terrible depending on the car. One problem they all have is the tyre pressures are always too high. As for the turning circle - is there some sort of stick sensitivity option? The few times I played it on console was with a wheel so can't really advise on controller set up sorry 😞 I'm not sure what racing games you've played before but AC is a proper sim so they can take some getting used to if you come from the more arcade style racers.

    So looks like Jimmer approves Some things I didn’t realise about it on console like limiting it to 30fps but it makes sense. The best and most important news is the physics engine is the same. From Jimmers reaction, the cars handle the same so that’s great to hear.

    I missed your post yesterday, yeah it's quite an old game now so I'd guess there are going to be quite a few updates for it 😞 Still the post and video above should mostly apply to console too so hopefully it will help you get up to speed faster. And for those on GT Sport, here's my lap. Managed a 2:17.x so a pretty fast lap, I'm not sure how replicable it is on a controller but still shows braking and lines I use 🙂

    @GazzaGarratt unfortunately not easily as depending if you drove the track in a public lobby, sport mode race or single player time trial it’s recorded in different places or not at all. Edit: unless they changed it. So Phil may be right I dunno. It used on only show your single player laps if you were looking in single player. But yes. get some laps it Leigh! I’ll try and hop on gt sport at lunch and record a lap too and get it posted. Phil’s not that far off my gt time but might help you Lee.

    I’m here just to have some fun so don’t really care about being the fastest so always happy to share my laps and set ups. If it helps, I can record a fast lap at each round so you can see my lines etc. Yeah, it was a laugh being in a server rather than singple player 🙂 Just need to get John on the forums now 😉

    As promised, here's my 1:44.9 lap, 0.5 off my quicket but I didn't record that lap but it still shows the lines I take. In my OBS noobyness it also includes chat so you get to hear your lovely voices too 😄 I braked a bit too early for t1 and the hairpin (t3 or t5 - not sure how imola is counted) and the final corner so some more time to be found. I've made a few set up tweaks; Final drive set to 12/50 Tyres: 15psi all round, slick softs Traction Control: 1 Toe front set to 12 (so -0.3 actual) Front roll bar / ARB down to 6.

    It is one advantage of racing as long as I have that there aren’t many tracks I have got some experience with. At a guess without seeing your lap, I’d guess most of the time loss is in the 2 chicance as you can carry a lot more speed in to the left hander than you think. Also the down hill right handers and chicane at the top can be an area of massive time gain or loss.

    Sounds good mate, I should be free by that time. Do you mean a 2:18 for the GTR? I was going to focus on AC but might have to spend some more time in GT to improve my lap a bit. I don’t want to be beaten in round 1 😆
