  1. I forgot to say, change them for the Racing Super Softs. Tyres don't wear in time trial so there's no downside to using the super softs 🙂
  2. Definitely change them! I don’t know the exact time difference but you’re probably looking at 2+ seconds a lap. Maybe even up to 4 or 5 with the length of Spa.
  3. @G_dub52 A week. We originally did 2 weeks but found that was too long.
  4. Interesting Phil, any reason you went for it on the ps4 over the pc version?
  5. Bloody hell Lee! You really do need to play this game more if you haven't unlocked everything yet 😆 I've never really played the console version but PC it tells you can enable the hud that tells you your best lap of the session. It should also tell you your best lap when you quit a session. 4000 points though? no idea, is there a drift points mode on AC? As for the handling, unfortunately default AC setups range from pretty good to terrible depending on the car. One problem they all have is the tyre pressures are always too high. As for the turning circle - is there some sort of stick sensitivity option? The few times I played it on console was with a wheel so can't really advise on controller set up sorry 😞 I'm not sure what racing games you've played before but AC is a proper sim so they can take some getting used to if you come from the more arcade style racers.
  6. So looks like Jimmer approves Some things I didn’t realise about it on console like limiting it to 30fps but it makes sense. The best and most important news is the physics engine is the same. From Jimmers reaction, the cars handle the same so that’s great to hear.
  7. I missed your post yesterday, yeah it's quite an old game now so I'd guess there are going to be quite a few updates for it 😞 Still the post and video above should mostly apply to console too so hopefully it will help you get up to speed faster. And for those on GT Sport, here's my lap. Managed a 2:17.x so a pretty fast lap, I'm not sure how replicable it is on a controller but still shows braking and lines I use 🙂
  8. @GazzaGarratt unfortunately not easily as depending if you drove the track in a public lobby, sport mode race or single player time trial it’s recorded in different places or not at all. Edit: unless they changed it. So Phil may be right I dunno. It used on only show your single player laps if you were looking in single player. But yes. get some laps it Leigh! I’ll try and hop on gt sport at lunch and record a lap too and get it posted. Phil’s not that far off my gt time but might help you Lee.
  9. I’m here just to have some fun so don’t really care about being the fastest so always happy to share my laps and set ups. If it helps, I can record a fast lap at each round so you can see my lines etc. Yeah, it was a laugh being in a server rather than singple player 🙂 Just need to get John on the forums now 😉
  10. As promised, here's my 1:44.9 lap, 0.5 off my quicket but I didn't record that lap but it still shows the lines I take. In my OBS noobyness it also includes chat so you get to hear your lovely voices too 😄 I braked a bit too early for t1 and the hairpin (t3 or t5 - not sure how imola is counted) and the final corner so some more time to be found. I've made a few set up tweaks; Final drive set to 12/50 Tyres: 15psi all round, slick softs Traction Control: 1 Toe front set to 12 (so -0.3 actual) Front roll bar / ARB down to 6.
  11. It is one advantage of racing as long as I have that there aren’t many tracks I have got some experience with. At a guess without seeing your lap, I’d guess most of the time loss is in the 2 chicance as you can carry a lot more speed in to the left hander than you think. Also the down hill right handers and chicane at the top can be an area of massive time gain or loss.
  12. Sounds good mate, I should be free by that time. Do you mean a 2:18 for the GTR? I was going to focus on AC but might have to spend some more time in GT to improve my lap a bit. I don’t want to be beaten in round 1 😆
  13. Yeah man, sounds good. Got some family stuff (bday meal) tonight but should be free afterwards. What time are you thinking?
  14. Whoops, glad you checked then 😆 guess my memory isn’t as good as I thought.
  15. Nice one Phil, I don’t think it would take much to get in to the 2:18’s again. The McLaren could be a good shout. I don’t think I’ve done a sport race at Spa so don’t know the best BoP car to use. I guessed the GTR as it’s almost the fastest in a straight line and pretty good through corners too. Though I think the McLaren is still the fastest in a straight line.
  16. A couple more I thought of; "When you can't run, you crawl. And when you can't crawl, when you can't do that, you find someone to carry you." - Firefly "When the people we love are taken from us, the way to have them live on is to never stop loving them. Buildings burn, people die but real love is forever." - The Crow) And another from The Crow - "It can't rain all the time." "An optimist and a pessimist are sitting at a bar and the pessimist says 'things can't get any worse' and the optimist says 'oh yes they can'" - Toby, West Wing.
  17. I quickly did 5 laps of each to set a benchmark. GT Sport: 2:18.472 (Using the GTR, Racing Super Soft Tyres) Assetto Corsa: M4 - 2:06.740 (Semi slick tyres, pressures dropped to 21psi, fuel dropped to 3 laps worth) Lambo - 1:47.141 (I forgot to record the set up for this but softest tyres available, 3 laps of fuel, final gear ratio shorted a couple clicks - top speed was limited to 287 or something like that) My laps on all were pretty clean but especially in AC I think there's much more time available so that's where I'll be focusing but that's for another night.
  18. I was happy to leave that as a free choice as it is with AC cars too. So that basically means racing super softs really in GT and whatever the softest are for the AC car.
  19. I tried GT Sport last night and it was weird! The cars feedback and handling is so different between GT and AC. So strangely, I think I might have to put more time in to GT to get a decent lap time than AC. Stiil, I've run the randomiser for this week so; ROUND 1 GT Sport Car Class: Gr3 Circuit: Spa Fracochamps Assetto Corsa Car 1: BMW M4 Coupe Car 2: Lamborghini Huracan GT3 Circuit: Imola @G_dub52 I found a list of cars in AC on the internet but I don't know how accurate it is. So if I ever post a car/track you don't have, let me know and I'll update the combo. @phil bottle @GazzaGarratt Tagging you in just so you don't miss the combo 🙂
  20. Ah-ha Rich, you can hide on my game but there’s the proof. You utter utter bastard! 😂 Annoyingy I forget to save any other race but this this one but I’ll check to see if there’s anything worth posting.
  21. You miss 100% of the shots you don't take.
  22. Oh I got ya now, Makes sense to almost always split Me v Phil and You v George as then its wheel v wheel and pad v pad players. It’s all for fun though so happy to chuck our names in the randomiser too for each round.
  23. @GazzaGarratt We could do that on gt sport if Gdubs has it also? AC we would need to stick to a time trial as we’re split across pc and ps4. Also, I think, AC servers are proper servers unlike GT that you can host on your ps4. Though I don’t know about me kicking your asses. Philly got close to beating me in a few rounds before so wouldn’t put it past him winning some this time around.
  24. Sol and custom shader mod are ones I think everyone should have. Content manager is worth getting too as it makes mods far easier to deal with. Crew chief and /or car radar are pretty good ones too as they help fix the problem of knowing where cars are around you. Outside that whatever cars and tracks you want. By this point, I have waaaaay to many to list. This is a pretty good run down of cars to get started; He’s done a track one too but that was a few years ago so there will be newer tracks not listed so I haven’t linked that video. The other option, is go to race department and list car/track/whatever by popularity and download them all.
  25. Nope. They’re not ugly by any stretch of the imagination but they aren’t sexy either in my opinion. Compare an R8 to almost any Lamborghini, Ferrari 458, 812, 360, 308, 250, a lot of Jaguars, Aston Martin’s. Even more normal cars like Peugeots 406 coupe, Peugeot 306, Mk1 Focus - especially the RS, Mazda Rx7 fd, most Alfa Romeos etc. The R8 just doesn’t come close. Yup, though to add to the above list almost every classic muscle car makes the list. Mustangs, Cobra’s, Corvettes, GTO’s, Impala’s.
