  1. The mixer is fairly basic, it has a livemix button with four options but they seem to be more an option for PS3 than for PC. I'll do some more testing on that this weekend. The sound is good and clear playing games but if it's to be used primarily for listening to music I'd go for a different headset. The other options are the usual volume and chat controls, plus mute. My X12s had a bass control which I miss a little. The voice quality is excellent I have to say. I recorded myself a few times playing games and the playback was a great, particularly as I can be a bit of a mumbler sometimes. I the option to slide the mic back inside the headphones is a nice touch too. For the money I'd say it's a pretty decent headset.
  2. I know, it's really great news. I'll still take care and not abuse it but.... it's good to know I don't have to stress too much if I'm using it a lot!
  3. They fit nicely, when I opened the box I thought they were going to be too small but they're just what I'd call 'snug'. I have the mixamp version and I'm going to try them out on DayZ first I think.
  4. Talk of Myshkino reminds me of playing the mod. I'd use the woods east of there to hide tents, vehicles, even helis. Makes me pine for a bike I'l be on later, I have a new headset to test out
  5. So, my turtle beach X12s are finally reaching the end of the road. I'm jealous of anyone with Astro A40s or A50s, can't really afford to spend over 200 smackers on a headset, so I've gone with Steel Series Siberia V2 For 50 knicker I'm sure I can't go wrong...I'll test them later and let you know! http://steelseries.com/products/audio/steelseries-siberia-v3
  6. North East London in the Master League are a damn sight better than their real-life counterparts right now. 20 hours in I have to say it's a really enjoyable footie game to play, though I've not tried the online experience yet. Might give that a go this weekend.
  7. Aston Martins are lovely looking cars, what are they like to drive?
  8. I had a quick wander round last night, made it over to Green Mountain but yeah I noticed too the lack of ammo and only certain rifles seems to spawn too. May simply have been the server.
  9. With the misinformation around about SSDs this kind of article is excellent. I always have that feeling in the back of my head I'm using CCLeaner too much or too often installing and uninstalling games. So I think I can relax a little now, cheers for posting.
  10. A book I first read as a student in the 90s. My mate Chris did his final year dissertation on Noam Chomsky, it was the first I had ever heard of him. Blew me away. I've read a lot his work since. Check out: http://www.chomsky.info/ He backs up everything he says, often directly quoting the media itself. His political analyses to this day stand up to the most intense scrutiny. Often his critics resort to personal and/or crass jibes. The left wing press are condescending to him funnily enough while the right wing press (see the Financial Times) show begrudging respect. Thought I'd share with you, he's pretty damned old now but if you check out YouTube he's still a destroyer of ill-informed interviewers. There's a video version of Manufacturing Consent on YouTube too. It's kind of dated now but the issues are still relevant. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RO51ahW9JlE
  11. Yep, my search for a tent is never ending, I hear they spawn in the high rise buildings in Dubky so I'm headed there tonight
  12. Nice one James, I hadn't noticed, I've been trying out the experimental servers recently but couldn't get near a vehicle.
  13. lol at this thread, the cynicism is palpable. I was going to ask if it's likely to involve climbing towers to liberate areas of map, just cause Ubisoft follows the usual AAA mantra of "if it isn't broken (translate to: if it still generates a shitload of cash) then don't fix it."
  14. So what we saying then, Spectre hacked Sony? I'm confused. Sorry, crap joke to get us back on topic Cyber crime and espionage is pretty damn scary, I hope my free Avast security is up to the job It does play tic tac toe (naughts and crosses) pretty well
  15. Has a full installer, it's about 23gb on my hard drive.
  16. It's really hard to know where to begin when talking about this game, the least I can do is clear up a few issues. I heard about it over a year ago, I think it was being talked about on the DayZ forums and then FrankieonPC made a video on it. I bought into it around Feb/March and paid about £20 to fund the game. For that I got a ship, a hangar and in-game credits. I don't have to pay a single penny of my own money anymore. You can fund the game further by buying bigger or better ships but there's no need, when you earn money in-game they're all there to buy. I think it's going to be a couple of years before the game is finished and so far what is playable is: The hangar. I can walk around, change clothes, put on a helmet, inspect and enter my ship. Arena Commander. I can fly my ship in two different settings. I can engage in simulated combat against other ships. The next stages of development will see introduction of first person shooting, single player campaign (Squadron 42) and the holy of holies: A PERSISTENT universerse made up of other players. One word of caution, I have a damn good set up and I'm already struggling to maintain 60 FPS even in the hangar. The game is glitchy and in need of optimisation but I have really high hopes for it. The updates are not just regular, they bloody relentess and there's so much lore and information to digest. For $30 I'd take a punt and be part of something pretty cool, well, I did so there you go. If they get anywhere near their lofty ambitions this is going to be a corker of a game.
  17. What I wish is that they do an adult version and a kiddy version, some of the tacky wacky alien stuff from the last bunch was too much for me. Should do a Forever Gaming meet up to watch this when it comes out though, the trailer is class. And, cheers Rich!
  18. Tempting, very tempting but I'm expecting better things this weekend, maybe my cheapskate wish for DarkSouls 2 on sale will come true. Rocking the Hyacinth motif by the way, quality
  19. I had a go last night and took a trip up to the NW airfield (like old times lol). I think I was on a weird server as loot was stacked upon loot everywhere, could have kitted out a small army. Vehicles are great and when they're fully implemented they'll be very useful, though more for hearing when trouble is approaching, as in life I prefer to cycle. I believe there's supposed to be persistence already but I won't know until I find a tent and test it out. I'm a hoarder.
  20. I've had both Arkham GOTY games from a steam sale sitting in my library unplayed for ages, from what I read above I think it's time to play them. Enthusiasm is infectious and I'm easily led. One question: KB&M or xbox controller?
  21. I've not really played much DayZ standalone since early on, prefer to wait until it's in better shape. According to an announcement today they're finally adding vehicles. In the experimental servers first, and pretty rudimentary but this is a positive step in the right direction. Now I wantz the heliz too. http://steamcommunity.com/games/221100#announcements/detail/145568104466458813
  22. James, unfortunately on this one I have the proverbial hype cock poking every orifice. I played the fuck out of it on Xbox360 but sold my copy the moment I heard of of a PC version. I just worry that they have a very poor history with PC versions of the game.
  23. I've no problem with anyone mate, not much point in that, half the people in London think the same as you, even the immigrants. I come from an immigrant family, my folks are Irish, so immigration has always been an important topic for me. I have watched too many people over the years look for easy solutions and scapegoats to difficult questions. So I always challenge certain points of view. I don't think there's any need for some of what was just said there. You may confuse arrogance with passion possibly. I certainly don't know it all. I'm very ignorant about too many things. But anyway, don't worry about it, I may 'ruin websites' but don't let me ruin your day.
