  1. There are some rules. You're not allowed to kill randomly. You can hold someone up and if they resist you can shoot them. RDMing is a bannable offence on most servers so no shooting on sight. If you're being held up by less than three people you can resist but if it's 3 or more then you have to submit to being robbed. Also the rebels may tax you if they come across you... Also the town Pyrgos is often a safe zone on most servers where weapons are not allowed to be displayed.
  2. Different servers are set up differently. I do this first time I join a new server: Buy a driving license from DVLA. When you join they automatically put money in your bank account, and you get £3000 deposited to your account every 5 minutes. I buy a driving license. Then I buy an offroad. Then I buy some clothes and a backpack, then first aid kit, toolkit and some food. Ready to go earn proper money I can either: do a delivery job ( helps to learn the map but the pay isn't great) buy a pickaxe and become a diamond miner (pay is great but you run more risk of being robbed) I then buy a gun license and buy a weapon once I have enough funds I then go buy a heli (usually I go for an Orca) You can be a drug traffcker, a fisherman and all sorts as well as a rebel or police but that's what I generally do. Can form a gang and rob the bank etc too...
  3. I play Altis. Dylan also plays and he goes on this crew's server: http://www.ihaze.co.uk/home He seems to be mates with the guys who run it and he's a rebel. I was on the other day (mining diamonds) and he and his mates randomly kidnapped me and held me hostage. He didn't know it was me. I also play on blackwing gaming's Altis Life server which is pretty much always full. Let me know and we'll go on together one evening...
  4. ^^The above pretty much sums up my point of view too. No-one's holding a gun to my head forcing me to buy games, except myself of course. With regards EA, I'm pretty cynical about all companies to be honest, so I therefore don't tend to get disappointed easy. Profit is king and the ultimate arbiter, software companies are no different. EA just have poor PR.
  5. I entered Dylan's new Altis Life Arma 3 server last night, I got trolled within 10 minutes beware!
  6. My purchases: State of Decay - though already had on 360 Dragon Age Origins (the full bollox) - never played a Dragon Age game (might still never lol) Baldur's Gate II - because I believe the hype, a hundred years later A week before the sale (I was expecting the sale nearer August) I bought X-Com for my girlfriend - she beat me on her second attempt Crap sale, was hoping for a big Dark Souls 2 reduction, I'll wait for the Halloween sale instead I think.
  7. That's a damn long book to re-read Great book though.
  8. I've read Lord of the Rings a couple of times, first as a youngster and then when I heard they were making the film I re-read it in preparation. Better second time around. Other than that I like to read: 'In Dubious Battle' by John Steinbeck at least once a year. I love the American writers of that generation but John's humanity puts him head and shoulders above the rest, at least for me. 'Nausea' by JP Sartre, have to re-read it everyone once in a while, always get something different from it. I was also stuck on holiday once with only one book: "Bill the Galactic Hero" by Harry Harrison which I read twice by default.
  9. Crazy Welsh bastards It's a beautiful part of the country too, not far from Betsw-y-Coed, which is also worth a visit
  10. Quality post, completely agree and learned something new, hats off to you sir
  11. One of my top five favourite websites: http://www.logicalincrements.com/
  12. I'm a little bored right now. I played the Mod for quite a long time, which, while buggy, had so much more going on than the standalone. I miss getting chased in my offroad by psychopaths in helicopters. Vehicles and somewhere to store gear need to be included otherwise it's just team deathmatch. There's also been an invasion of scripters I hear... Time will rectify that I hope.
  13. Back on topic I completely agree. I played Betas for BF Hardline and Titanfall and won't be buying either unless it a mega sale. Titanfall plays better IMO. It's all a bit too cynical for me but I suppose making video games is an expensive business I play BF4 occasionally even now but I'm still getting shot round corners. Wish they'd spend the money and time on getting it right.
  14. Present day Brazil
  15. I've been saving my pennies for this, bring it on! Yet more games will be purchased that I may never ever find the time to play
  16. What would reckon about this?
  17. ^ I installed it just after it came out and played 30 minutes, waiting for something like this
  18. So it came up in conversation that Rich hasn't seen these two comedy gems starring the late Rik Mayall: http://www.channel4.com/programmes/comic-strip-presents/4od#3106467 http://www.channel4.com/programmes/comic-strip-presents/4od#3107215
  19. Enhanced version and carry over from Xbox360 to PC does have me drooling a little. If they get it right I'll be a happy bunny.
  20. I've got ME3 on PC but I've never tried the multiplayer, is it fun? On single player I'm usually behind barriers and popping my head out when I want to use my weapons or biotics so I'm not sure how that'd translate online. Plus are the maps any good? I suppose I should stop being lazy and check it for myself
  21. I played on PC last night, it was better than I though it'd be...and yeah plays better than BF4 you're damn right...bastards
  22. Strange buy for me, how many midfielders does that team need? Maybe he'll turn out to be the Spanish, sorry Catalan, Joe Cole
  23. The Beta just landed in my Origin, might give it ago later tonight, I'm a bit down on Dice at the moment so we'll see how it goes...
  24. I liked Cable Guy a lot, a bit darker...but Liar Liar is a one of the funiest films ever, from start to finish pure comedy gold.
  25. Damn cabbies...being a cyclist I could tell you a few stories...regretably my fellow cyclists aint much better...no-one respects no-one on the queen's highway. Since we're talking of things Uber I'm reminded me of this:
