I managed a couple of hours on this yesterday evening. As it suggested using a controller I decided I might give it a go with my Steam Link, which lets me play it on my TV. After literally 42 updates to the device (been a while since I used it lol) I played an hour on my TV. However, 1080p on a 4K TV, it didn't look great, so I went back on my PC monitor. I played it at 1440p and it looked beautiful, I was very surprised my card could handle it but I was getting just over 60fps on medium settings. What an amazing card it is, they've never made a better one imo.
The good.
I like the game a lot, it definitely scratched a certain itch. I think I'm going to want to spend a lot of time on it. I might start over on kb&m. It was fine with a controller but we'll see. I like going to chat with NPCs and they've got an assortment of English, Welsh, Scottish and Irish accents which is pretty cool. I've watched a few tips videos and the first thing I did was ring the town bell to open up more of the map. The game is massive.
The bad.
It crashed three times in two hours. Now that's annoying. Fortunately it autosaves whenever you do anything interesting, so no progress was lost. Hopefully more patches to the game will fix that.
All in all I'm glad I picked it up. Not for £35 in the end, as that turned out to he a weird deal involving playing on another account...
