  1. Oh wow, that's awesome! Glad nobody got hurt. but it's still awesome nonetheless. Mother nature really is an amazing creature.
  2. I seriously miss riding. I mostly rode little 50cc two strokes but once we installed some kit, they packed over 20bhp (23 being my record) and put any sports car to shame until about 100kph. I did also have a 600cc thumper for a while but I never had a licence for it so it had to go. I want to ride again, but my wife would be a nervous wreck. I really do miss it though. Might get a 125 scooter for the daily commute, as we don't achieve speeds high enough to warrant anything bigger in London. 50s are fun as hell too. We embarrassed so many bigger bikes and cars it's insane. We literally poured every penny we had into those things, and the result was 23bhp on something which weighed about as much as a paperclip. Add the CVT and you can see why they were such monsters. Also, the sound of a screaming two stroke, coupled with the unmistakeable smell of synthetic oil burning, and.... well: Then the cops got hold of it, stuck it on a dyno, and I got it back with the entire engine, exhaust, clutch and variomatic all taken out. Basically all the parts with "MHR" written on them, which stands for Malossi Hyper Racing. Nicasil lining, one piston ring, 70cc. 28mm Mikuni flatslide carburettor, Polini For Race exhaust, Top Performances crank shaft, and a TON of other bits and bobs. All gone. About £2k to replace, which is pretty much everything when you're young.
  3. That vid is fucking awesome.
  4. Hi Megan, welcome back, I hope you can handle this lot!

    Far Cry 4

That's the thing: I wanted it to be more difficult. I want to explore, search, hunt and farm. Not look at my crafting list, go "I need leather", look at the map, and know where to go straight away. That kills half the fun. The game was also too easy in general. That said, I got about two hours in and went "meh". Haven't touched it since. Someone mentioned banging the hot chick at the end, might have to stick it out for that.

    Far Cry 4

I dunno. FC1 was excellent. FC2 was also excellent, but it got too samey samey over time. Still one of the best gun sounds in any game, that truck mounted cannon thing. FC3 was fucking awful. Yes the gameplay was good but it had one flaw which totally ruined the game for me and I'll mention it in every single post I make about the game: the animals. Animals don't clump up. You don't need to go to specific areas for specific animals, they're everyfuckingwhere and are restriced by nothing. Yet in FC3 if you wanted to chop up sharks for the wallets, you had to go to a specific area. Yeah, 'cos on an island like that, the sharks have their own territory, amirite? Oh. And the crafting system was an abomination. Make everything once, done. It was awful. Why bother in the first place if you can have everything you need within a couple of hours, and that kit will last you the rest of the game? HAY GUISE WE HAS AN EPIC CRAFTING SISTIM NAU, U CAN MAKE STUFF. ok, so.... sell it then? Nope. Give it to mates? Nope. So what? You make it once. And then? Nothing, that's it, you make it once. Fuckin tragic.
  7. Yep, agreed. I want to do normals, but we need a few more folks and people need to work on their gear / dps.
  8. I'm a warrior. I have no brain, I am merely a skeleton with a shitload of muscles glued to it. I assume no responsibility for my actions, if it has a pulse and it's not Alliance, it has to die. Spine was awesome though. How you guys put up with me I'll never know but kudos for it! Anyways, is anyone actually gonna answer the questions I posted?
  9. Oh teh ironing Only Dylan can make me laugh like that.
  10. Nokia's in similar waters, keep trying new things and failing miserably. I read somewhere that if IBM were to enforce their patents, they could pretty much shut down Apple overnight. Dunno how true that is.
  11. That's a lot of letters Dylan, where'd you get the attention span from?
  12. All they have to do to sell more controllers is replace the dual shocks with rubber titties.
  13. Haha, very good! In other news, this is what my car needs:
  14. I've never been a cat person but this? Wow. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qggsy3Cxg4U
  15. This is fucking tragic. I often laugh at our H&S over here but once you see something like this, it does widen your eyes a bit. My condolences go to the families of these people, can't imagine how hard it must be for them.
  16. Looking forward to this weekend's slaughterfest. A few questions: To qualify, I simply attack someone in the days running up the the event, right? During the event, I could only attack twice last time. Is that correct? And how do I donate stuff?
  17. Mkay, we need to sort this out. First off, I work from 07:00 to 19:00 or 19:00 to 07:00 depending on my shifts. This means that I won't be able to attend many raids but such is life unfortunately. Secondly, we need to establish raiding days and times. What times would suit you guys, and what days? Thirdly, please post here who you are, your main spec, and when you'd be available. Fourth, and this is the most important one, I need people to step up to the plate. If I can't make it, then pull your finger out and organize something. I'm making Klax and Erux raid leaders so if they're on and it's raid night, you will need to listen to them. If anyone else wants to be a raid leader, please let me know. Fifth, START RECRUITING!!!! I've done ALL the recruiting on my own except for when Sven brought Druidi into the guild, and it's getting tiresome that I'm the only one. If you raid with someone and they seem nice, extend them an invite. It's not hard guys. Also, please get others to sign up here so we can organize this stuff outside of the game. That way anyone can read our stuff wheneve rthey want, and nobody will miss anything. Tl;DR: Pull your fingers out and get busy recruiting and organizing raids. Let's start off with raid days and times though. I want to move up to normal as quick as we can as that little green text saying "flex" on my gear is pissing me off.
  18. When I first heard about these, I thought "excellent", the ability to buy cosmetic goodies for a few pence or a pound here or there would be excellent. Whether it was a hat in TF2, a camo pack in BO2, or a shortcut kit in BF4, it just made perfect sense. The only downfall it would have is that some folks wouldn't be able to afford them, but that goes with the territory. When WoW started with "microtransactions" I thought it was awful. It started off with a pet or a mount for the game, which although I disagreed with and never paid for, was definitely a success for Blizzard as everyone seemed to have one eventually. They must've made a killing. The mount was I think... £15? Something like that. Now that on it's own is taking the "micro" away from transaction. You could buy the base game for that price, or even an expansion pack. Hell, you could buy multiple games for that price. Yet here you paid £15 for a horse. And that's the point I started disliking microtransactions. The problem with them is that gamers will fork out cash for anything. I can guarantee you that if Blizzard released a gold covered horse for £1000 tomorrow, you'd see them all over the place within a month. Now there's nothing wrong with that, if someone wants to spend a grand of mommy & daddy's hard earned on a horse that's up to them, but what about the rest of us, who can't be bothered paying so much but want might also want something nice on the cheap? Well, that's where the cheaper stuff comes in. There are loads of other mounts and pets on the store, which are great. The problem is that once people start spending larger amounts of in-game items, some companies take this as "oh they will pay, charge more then" which gradually filters down to the rest of the playerbase, so many of us end up paying much more than we should for something which is effectively just a horse with a different colour. Now you can also buy a character boost to max level for $60. Yes, sixty dollars. This is somehow marketed as a "microtransaction". I'd like to know how they class a sum which can feed a family for a week as "micro". These are great in theory, but as usual once greed starts settling in it all goes pete tong very fast.
  19. I wish MS would just sack the lot of their PR and marketing department and start fresh. Consoles should be "for gamers, by gamers" no "for gamers, by greedy suits". If MS sacked off the number crunchers, hired in some people who actually have a vested interest in gamers, their sales would double overnight. Ever since their delusional "always on, always watching, no used games or lending games, always online" nonsense people have caught on, and as much as I hate to say it, but only three people buy Xbones: Those who have been so far under a rock they have no idea what went on. Those who are such devout fanbois that MS can do no evil. The uneducated who have bought one as a gift. That's it. Anyone who reads the odd forum / blog / tech article will know what a stink that caused, and the only way of fixing this is to start from scratch with a whole new team. There is hope, but MS seems so dedicated to raising a sinking ship that they're completely blind to what the gamers want, and at the end of the day, without us, their product is a very expensive excursion into Dreamcast territory. Which is sad really. The Xbone is a good machine, make no mistake. The hardware is powerful, the interface is lovely, it has loads of extra features which are quite simply a pleasure to use, but unfortunately it was let down by the morons heading up the Xbox team. One quote says it all: "We have a product for those who don't have internet access, it's called the Xbox 360". That quote right there just shows how distanced they are from a gamer's wants and needs. Literally no clue. "Ah, that number is bigger so that's the one we're going with". Yes, but that number is also the final nail in the coffin, and now nobody wants your console. What now Mr. Numbers? I don't want to see Xbox go. I really don't. At this point in time it's all we have keeping Sony honest and if Xbox goes, who's going to fulfill that role? Nintendo? I very much doubt it. So please MS, there is still hope. Grab your marketing team by the scruff of the neck, throw them all out the door and get a fresh team in. Give them more generous budget constraints (still turn a profit, just a bit slower) and let them market the machine as it should have been marketed from day one: "By gamers, for gamers". Either that or have fun digging your own grave.
