  1. I was going to make a joke yesterday about this thread being peak cod, keep up the good work 😁

  2. Getting down to the business end of the season, the title could still go to anyone out of Shitty and the Arse. This may be sacrilege, and Shitty are definitely the better team to watch, but I'm ok with the Woolwich lot winning the league, that Saka is too likeable for his own good. As for Spurs, I'm just watching to see what enfold this summer. I don't expect Champions league unless one of the Utds implodes. We all have to play each other, and the way we're playing it will be torture. At least Cheatski have Lampard back to sweeten things up 😅 Also, note @GazzaGarratt Norwich getting thrashed last night helping your play off hopes 👊

  3. I'm not interested in the whole canted iron sights type gameplay and the other map is just too big. It may play better in game modes that focus gunfights into smaller areas but then it's cluttered and the colour palette is just poor.

  5. Definitely has come a long way but it's gonna be a very hard sell even being free. When CS2 has Valorant on strings then games like this really don't stand much of a chance especially with the other level of competition out there. I think the biggest mistake they made was involving Ubisoft factions which most people aren't as attached to as Ubisoft think especially when their iconic ones have been milked to death in other games like Siege whilst the original IP is totally neglected *cough Splinter Cell *cough *cough. Looks like the engine has been bolstered though which is good - looks way less clunky and floaty now. Hopefully it will play like Black Ops 2 but I'm hoping the gimmicks don't ruin it and that it gets old fast. First game in a long time that Ubisoft haven't cancelled.

  8. Yep, it's a great game, particularly on SteamDeck. Dangerous at bedtime as its one of those games that have kept me accidentally awake until the stupid hours.

    DMZ Season 3

That’s because at the moment the only pay to win feature to reach the game is medium backpack and 15 minute cool-down on a Sakin. Which is really not an issue. The worry is where it leads, spawn rush squads having 3 uavs at the start of every match whilst rare are a concern but what happens when the rewards start increasing or become items which aren’t available to everyone. Maybe in the future you could buy an operator with a secured scavenger bag.

    DMZ Season 3

I don't personally care about the boosts. I like the idea of the self-res for solo players also At this point I know the places to go to in order to get a mid or large backpack or a 3 plate. The barter system makes it easy to get stuff which is better than that any ways. It seems that you can only get one of the boosts per operator so it isn't that OP. Me and my friends with sniper rifles should be able to take care of it. I can get better stuff in 5 minutes of play time so I really don't care. This gives entry level or marginal players an entry point which I am ok with. It also give me the opportunity to kill operators which have a higher probability of having self-res, med packs, and 2-3 plate vests early in game. Since season 3 all of my operators have been rocking 3 plates with large or scavenger BP with a Self res and some kill streak or another. I wasn't able to do that in season 2 as easily. I already killed the scavenger, Chemist and got the weapon's cases a number of time. This really isn't pay to win since not one has stood in my way and I didn't buy it

  11. Don't like the two new maps? Why not? I find the night one annoying because I go in with iron sights and I still have to canter with the laser rather than aim. I like the Rohan part of it because I am familiar with the map due to DMZ the light house one is meh. But the only mode that ever comes up for me is hardpoint which I don't particularly like. Might feel differently if it was DOM or TDM

  12. I haven't but that's because my exposure to player statistics for games is limited to what you post as I'd rather play a game than analyse the player base. You're still confusing things by referring to "it's" peak time and count when, if I'm understanding you correctly, what you're actually comparing is the peak in Steam players against the peak in MW2 players. It still seems to be an odd thing to do though as I imagine the peak steam usage is the evening in USA timezones when there's many reasons a games peak could be in a different timezone. As by that logic, if only 1% of American Steam users play your game it would be considered shit even if 100% of Japanese Steam users play your game. It isn't that simple though is it, why was the player count so low at the time? By the screenshot there wasn't a corresponding dip in players on April 11th or 13th suggesting there's other factor(s) for the dip on the 12th. I'm not arguing against the general trend, I haven't looked at the stats and honestly don't care to either, but cherry picking a outlier is pointless. Why? What have they done to 6v6? I've been busy the past couple of nights so haven't played since the season 3 patch dropped.

    DMZ Season 3

It’ll probably follow the same framework as the multiplayer - start off seemingly harmless to test the water and if it’s successful, it’ll be expanded upon and if it doesn’t resonate widely, they will still get aggressive with it to attract and maintain the players who engaged with the paid content already and to hell with the ‘free riders’. I got a ridiculous amount of flack on here a while back when exposing the P2W elements already embedded within the franchise and got even more when I suggested that this could spill into DMZ but here we are and I can safely say this will not disappear or benefit players who just play for fun and want to enjoy the mode how it was initially released. I really liked DMZ but the more competitive and unbalanced they make it, the less relaxed and enjoyable it will be especially if you’re not paying an entry at the gate before you go in. Could alienate a lot of players including ones that own the base game. We’ll have to see how this gradually pans out..

    DMZ Season 3

At this point does it really matter those who play/like DMZ will be fine with it like everything else and those that don't play it, well why care? We all know the developers/ Activision can do as they please and enough people will buy into it.

    DMZ Season 3

I’ve been thinking about this a lot over the past few days and I’m not too concerned with it in it’s current form but am worried where this may lead. It certainly sets a precedent. The med backpack, 2 plate and self res isn’t really op, and are mostly only make your initial battles with the AI a bit easier. The uav is mostly fine, if a geared up squad are going to spawn rush you it’s likely they already have at least 1 uav anyway. I only really see it as an issue for spawn rushers looking for an easy regain. These players are going to spawn rush you regardless at least you know they might be on their way when they pop it. The thing you need to remember with DMZ is that unlike in Battle Royale not every run is zero to hero for every player the playing field isn’t level. Of the many squads spawning in they will have varying states of gear from nothing to full meta. Although I would have liked the free self to have been on one of the operators which I actually use rather than Konig lol, I would really benefit from having that! The number of times my regain runs are cut short because I got overwhelmed by AI quickly into my run, or I ran into a grenade trap which will down a player with a one plate. That being said I am concerned where this might lead now the rabbit hole has been opened.

  18. As I already said, peak time is determined by the amount of people using the service (Steam in this case) as a whole. The player counts are then measured against this rate for a determination. It’s even an API factor on SteamWorks so developers can measure their games performance at max overall reach potential. I have never known a video game to measure its peak time and peak player count as the same thing ever. I mean how many times have you heard in this industry developers and publishers refer to peak declines or underperformance at peak time.. Sure peak has a different meaning when talking about a sole entity like a corner shop or pub but in the common gaming industry, is used to garner the player counts reaches at the peak time of platform accessibility. I’ll keep it simple - MW2 achieved around 32,000 at peak platform time that day. That’s all there is to it really and it really is that simple. Doesn’t really mean all that much to a game in a steady monthly decline so there’s no point in squabbling over nitty-gritty terminologies.

  19. Yes it is,that is literally the definition of ‘peak time’. Peak time noun a time of day when a lot of people are using the same service, such as the internet, phone, etc. https://dictionary.cambridge.org/dictionary/english/peak-time And you know how you find out when a lot of people are using the same service….you count them and find the peak.

  20. Yes and they are not playing MW2 in this instance🤣 So by that logic, if COD has its highest player count of the month at 7am GMT in the morning on a Monday, that means it's 'peak time'!? No that's not how it is defined at all here. Peak time is determined by the platform rate and the peak player count is determined by the players that engage with the product at the time. They can't both mean the same thing in this case.

  21. Teh fuck have you been smoking? Peak time literally means when there are the most people doing something.

  22. Peak time, not peak count. Thought that was obvious. Just pointing out quite a big drop-off and the numbers either side of that aren't massive either at 65-75k.

  23. Does ‘peak’ mean something different in your world? As there’s more players online at almost every other point in time in that graph. So it’s more like an anti peak…I feel English probably should have a word for that…
