Battlefield 2042 Now
NCA-Paendrag and one other reacted to phil bottle for a topic
I quite like the movement, you don't get stuck on anything or have problems vaulting etc As a whole I would say it feels less gritty and realistic as BF3 or BF4, not quite cartoony but almost.2 points -
Starfield
Riff Machine and one other reacted to phil bottle for a topic
Couldn't care less about how many units they sell or any of that bollocks. I'll finally be picking up Baldurs Gate 3 and I think I'm capable of playing both games, even if if they released same day. I do that with books, I do that with games. I've come around in my head to start expecting Starfield to be a great game and I'm looking forward to release, whenever that might be. I saw certain people responsible for Elders Scrolls: Oblivion were working on it, and I just decided it's gonna be cool 😁2 points -

I think it looks great tbh. Not that I will be playing it but I may pick it up at some point later down the line. Its way more gun-ho in this one which may help me get over how I always used to be struggling for ammo in the others!2 points -
Resident Evil 4 Remake
IRaMPaGe and one other reacted to J4MES OX4D for a topic
Just finished the demo - took about 20 minutes to complete. Feels very much like the RE2 Remake which is great, but in the re-imagined RE4 world. Not sure they can top the latter though in terms of atmosphere and visual style along with the control implementation. I'm actually more tempted than ever to go and download RE4 vanilla and then install the HD project mod I don't think you can beat the visual design of the original2 points -
Downloading it as we speak 😁 really looking forward to playing this!!2 points

Hogwarts Legacy
IRaMPaGe and one other reacted to LordBaguette for a topic
Was saying to Lee yesterday you need to be objective and take away the Harry Potter skin, it isnt even the best RPG in the last 2 years. Its decent enough, but like you said feels unfinished, feels like its a good first step towards a better Hogwarts Legacy 2. The 'good or evil' thing literally doesnt exist. You are a dark wizard by default. You got around smashing humans and goblins against the floor and stealing everything you find. You are a dark wizard by default. This needs to be implemented properly in a 2nd game if it happens. Also agree the world feels pretty empty and lifeless in most places outside of the castle They definitely didnt have enough time to finish it, even with the delay and that was clear. That said, going around doing the collectible stuff, just wandering around can be fun and relaxing at your own pace.2 points -
Battlefield 2042 Now
IRaMPaGe and one other reacted to J4MES OX4D for a topic
MW2’s combat is punchy but 2042’s just feels rapid in comparison so you don’t really get a sense for the guns other than they’re extremely OP. Don’t think I’ve ever played a BF game where the guns feel so light and unauthentic. The movement also feels strange and it just makes the whole experience feel like a freebie sandbox created in something like Unity.2 points -
When I was young it was just cheesy pop and chart stuff from the early-mid 90's. When I was 15 I remember buying and getting into various different artists. Things like Eminem (Slim Shady Lp +Marshall Mathers) Also things like Limp Bizkit, KoRn, Greenday, Nirvana, The Offspring, Blink 182 etc amongst many others. Was listening to more Nu Metal when Linkin Park arrived. Also bands like ill nino, Deftones, American Head Charge, System of a down, Queens of the stone age, Incubus. I then Starting going more into Heavy metal/Classic rock/Thrash and heavier stuff. Was listening to Metallica, Iron Maiden, Megadeth, Deep purple, Led Zeppelin, AC/DC, Pantera Sepultura, Soul Fly. Was probably about 17ish by this time (Almost 20 years ago, Circa 2003ish) I always had a thing for Funk and soul, blues, reggae, indie and many other genres and rap I listened and enjoyed dance/electro/House some trance. Fat beats and DJs, but not happy hardcore. Just adding new artists over the years. My tastes are varied and vast. In the last 10 years or so I don't really listen to the heavier stuff, but still appreciate it. I will listen to most things apart from Chart pop and Country which I don't really enjoy what so ever. Exceptions being Johnny Cash or Willie Nelson. Don't mind Bluegrass or that, just not the typical country and western ting.2 points

So just been discussing this series with some friends, I have never played a Resi Evil game properly. I might have dipped in 1 or 2 for a few minutes but never comitted any real time to a game. Looking at 7 on the ps4 and having it in my library I plan to give it a go once one of the games I am currently playing finishes up. What I wanted to ask is your top 5's and recommendations? I felt retro is more apt as I suppose these day's the games before 7 are mostly retro?1 point

Resident Evil games, what are your type 5?
Riff Machine reacted to J4MES OX4D for a topic
Resident Evil 2 (PS1) Resident Evil (PS1) Resident Evil Code Veronica (Dreamcast) Resident Evil 4 (PC) Resident Evil 0 (Gamecube) I mostly like the classics with the fixed camera and tank controls. The remakes are mostly brilliant and 7 along with Village are two fantastic new takes on the classic series. Only with 5 and 6 did the franchise lose its way. The N64 version of RE2 is also hailed as one of the greatest ports of all time from a technical execution standpoint. Shoutout to the HD remake of the original RE which was initially a Gamecube exclusive before appearing on other formats - that was one of the OG remasterings in gaming.1 point -

The last thread got a little long, so a fresh start. I've spent my evening going through my games to see what's still hanging around in my spreadsheet. I haven't looked at these for quiet a while. I lost track of everything, so this got a little messy. Placed in spoilers to keep thread clean. These games to my knowledge are not redeemed by anyone, nor the keys expired. If any don't work I apologise. *New accounts less than a month old and less than 30 posts will not receive any games. This is to avoid spam and new people signing up who are only looking for snag free games without being involved in the community, as I'd much rather give back to those who make this place what it is* Just post telling me what you'd like and I'll start a private conversation. # A B C D F G H I K L M O Q R S T U W X Z UPDATED AS OF 23/10/2023 And lastly a public reminder! Football (Played with Feet)
IRaMPaGe reacted to J4MES OX4D for a topic
Conte has to go and he can take about 75% of the squad with him. I honestly don't know how Spurs are in 4th place right now and still they could be displaced by Liverpool if they win their game in hand. Another mediocre display last night from the get-go - anyone would think they were playing for a draw despite going out. Need a new manager with an attacking focus. Also need to dispose of the wealth of shit players on the books who will never improve or do anything for the club.1 point -

Music of your teenage years
Plumbers Crack reacted to phil bottle for a topic
Surprise surprise I'll be in my rebellious days until I'm no longer walking this mortal coil. This Mortal Coil is actually an old band, bit before my time though. I listen to a lot of music, my go to genres being punk rock and reggae. Didn't pay attention to music until I was 14 and a school mate introduced me to a load of bands. The lucky thing about being a teenager in London in the early 90s was the sheer amount and availability of live music. I saw the Stone Roses in a pub in Islington, Happy Mondays and Primal Scream in a pub in Camden, all before they hit the big time. A Monday club night in London at Dingwalls used to let the first 50 people in for free and I'd go with my mates and manage to make a pint of lager last the whole night. Jungle was big when I was a kid as well and I did like the jungle versions of old reggae songs. My tastes have always, been eclectic, though I generally hate swing beat and modern jazz, and and anything with voice modulation, I'll listen to most music. First band I saw live was the Jesus and Mary Chain. They still get a play when I'm in the mood. I could talk all day but regarding the OP, I listen to the same music I always have, the list just expands with time.1 point -

It's a pretty simple pack so shouldn't take too long to learn which I guess is the point. But any questions, let me know 🙂 Or let me know when you're on and I'll jump on to go through stuff if need be.1 point -
