    Game Keys 2.0

The last thread got a little long, so a fresh start. I've spent my evening going through my games to see what's still hanging around in my spreadsheet. I haven't looked at these for quiet a while. I lost track of everything, so this got a little messy. Placed in spoilers to keep thread clean. These games to my knowledge are not redeemed by anyone, nor the keys expired. If any don't work I apologise. *New accounts less than a month old and less than 30 posts will not receive any games. This is to avoid spam and new people signing up who are only looking for snag free games without being involved in the community, as I'd much rather give back to those who make this place what it is* Just post telling me what you'd like and I'll start a private conversation. # A B C D F G H I K L M O Q R S T U W X Z UPDATED AS OF 23/10/2023 And lastly a public reminder! Don't forget to make use of FG's FGF games in the merchandise store HERE.

  2. Wondering if there is an apetite for this, something that I have seen done elsewhere is a shared google sheets where everyone could add games they think everyone should play at some point in their lifetime. Considering there seems to be some appetite for retro games too it could end up suggesting games to each other that you may never have heard of or played before or maybe even genre's you have never played before (i.e. a lot of my suggestions would be rpgs / jrpgs, but someone else might suggest horrors as it is their preferred genre and I find something new in what they have put up ^_^ ) So we could sort the sheets so that it is by console allowing people to look at games related to consoles that they have access too, I imagine between us on here we cover a lot / most of them! What do people think? ^_^

    COD 2023

They were lucky I bought this one, I have enjoyed it but I think I have said before it will feel a little like the way customers were treated with BF2042 and that really left a sour taste for me. I don't think it will be likely I will buying the next one as I just feel it will be such a rush job and will result in another half attempt at a game. Like @phil bottlesay's there are a lot of games coming out this year all fighting for my limited time and I suspect my time will be better spent elsewhere and at more affordable prices as well.

    Hogwarts Legacy

So I completed the story the other day, it was decent and the ending had that Harry Potter feel too it. I think the game lost some of it's charm doing the trophies as it was a lot of go from point A to point B to kill monster A or to collect chest 139 etc. That said I have only 3 trophies to go which require me playing through to the map chamber with the other 3 houses, can't imagine it will take me too long to do that so might actually have another platinum come this weekend ^_^ My final thoughts on the game - Exploring Hogwarts is magical, as someone who grew up with the franchise it is just incredible seeing it brought to life in a new way. Collecting the various chests etc in Hogwarts was also great fun, finding little passageways, puzzle rooms and interacting with some of the paintings and such. The story was better than I expected I think, I did not really expect much as I thought the whole focus would be on Hogwarts and thus not leave much for other aspects of the game. Though it won't happen I would not mind seeing what happens to the main protaginist after his time at Hogwarts. Visually it was great, the first time seeing Hogwarts is one of those gaming moments you won't forget (despite it looking even better on the big screen). The combat grew on me, as you learn more spells you can combine them to do more damage and such and hitting a troll with his own club is always funny. That said it is not clear some of the things can be done in combat, it could have done with a bit more to try and show you how creative you can be with the combat as it is so easy to just use your preferred spells and then never discover that you can pull a Dugbug up into the air by it's tongue. There were some great little details, just the way you open the kitchen was as you would expect, the way you could run into Peeves getting up to mischief almost anywhere. The wider open game area was really quite badly done I felt. Camps were never explained, treasure caverns were somewhat pointless, a lot of the exploring of the map was just to find collectibles and there were no real stories or side quests to be found out there. It just felt quite lifeless because of it. The game did not feel finished, maybe rushed so that it did not suffer another delay. Quidditch missing seemed absurd, I imagine it will be brought in as DLC now but the cheapness of why it wasn't in the game with the bed in the hospital with a note and it all saying redacted by the headmaster. Harry almost died in the films and yet they never cancelled quidditch did they? The other thing that irked me somewhat is that in what school would a teacher (Fig) encourage their student to be galivanting around the countryside going into undead crypts, fighting Trolls and fighting Goblin rebellions. Though Dumbledore was grooming Harry the rest of the teachers would not have allowed it yet in the game it's somewhat encouraged, why was there not more sneaking out of the school to go and search said crypt and avoiding prefects or teachers to get out. Oh and from what I can tell you can't really play a good or evil playthrough. I tried to play a good playthrough and then you use the ancient magic on an enemy only for it to bash said enemy's head off the floor or turn them into something small and stamp on them. Equally so there is one storyline where you can see someone going down a dark path and even up until the last decision the character is somewhat defending and justifying what he is doing. It just feels like whatever way you play it, it would not have any impact on the game. I reckon if I went around killing people with the killing curse everyone at Hogwarts would treat me the same and that just doesn't feel right in modern open world games. Heck back in the first Fable game if you were evil then npc's would respond differently so it's not a new idea or new tech. My thoughts are me keeping the HP tinted specs off, as a HP fan it would be easy to just claim this as the best game this generation so far but there have been better games over the past 10 years. I will do my plat trophy now and then maybe do another full play through once any / all dlc has come out 🙂 It's a good game I just felt that they could have done so much more / better, but I suppose this is the studio's first proper open world isn't it? So they have things to learn.

  11. Yeah I think we're getting somewhere @Luseth! I even know I could make a form like when you create a topic to get this info but equally if we can get this on a Game Hub page again where specific game info is stored, I think it would definitely help the use of it all and especially the overall stats too! Thanks for your efforts so far its really appreciated ❤️

  13. Finished all the SMG longshots, they are all platinum. Currently 49/51 on Platinums. Only have Sniper Longshots left, will probably just unlock and do some season 2 weapons. Will take longer, but more fun imo. A new AR, Shotgun and Crossbow sounds more enjoyable. 😁

    COD 2023

There were rumours originally of just a straight up Map Pack for MW2 that contained all of the maps from the original MW2. I'd have quite happily paid for that. What they're doing now just sounds, like you said, desperate. If Activision would actually support 6v6 properly then they might not see the drop-off in players like they're currently getting.

    COD 2023

We're basically gonna be paying full price for an expansion dressed up as a full game. If MW2 performed well then it would've been an expansion but as it's not doing so hot, they have to brand it a full game because they know it would be a hard sell otherwise. I don't think people are going to swallow it though and it all looks a bit desperate. On the plus side we may get some original content but certainly not worth paying a premium for, especially if it's produced rushed and in an inferior way. They should've just taken the hit and skipped this year. It's their own fault really and all these bad decisions will just end up impacting future mainline games on top.

    COD 2023

Sledgehammer current and former employees are apparently worried this could be another Vanguard disaster as they've only had 2 years to make the game and it wasn't originally supposed to be a full title 🤷‍♂️ I think this could have done well as an expansion but if it turns out to be a disaster then it will actually be worse for Activision financially than if they'd stuck with their original plan 🤦‍♂️ Although it'd be a good thing if it massively fails and they have to completely rethink their current COD strategy. Great video here by Nero on the whole fiasco.

    COD 2023

For all we know that's what they are going to do with a follow-up campaign or something. Maybe a change of the Perk system which a lot a lot of people are complaining about anyways When you look at MP its basically all the same. TDM, KC, DOM, HP, Free for all. Then a number of other ones but those 5 are the foundation. So what would a "new" title really give you The gave us WW2 and people complained They gave us futuristic and people complained They gave us "cold war". As far as I know people liked that. They gave us MW and that seemed to be the best received over all Would do you expect would make people happy

    Your gaming backlog

I did yes, a volvo s60, not the most exciting to drive but it ticks a lot of boxes in comfort, economy and all the gadgets i could ever want. I have added a bit of structure because otherwise I just won't play half of them, I have decided I will pick like 3 games and see which I am feeling when I complete Hogwarts so that I am not tied to just 1 game. So they will all be different genres and it will be whatever style of game I fancy when I get to them. I like the idea of us all picking a game, essentially a bit like a book club ^_^ Maybe put up a poll for several games and see what the majority have available to them and pick one of those.

  28. Hard agree @Spacedeck. I think its a really hard discipline to play games in a structured way, because games by design are that fun, escapism that we all love and probably the most spontaneous thing we do. Having said that, I have tried to be disciplined to play different games, and put up events so we have stuff to look forward to on multiple games, otherwise I notice that I end up not playing with many FGers and maybe not talking as much to them if we don't end up on the same game every day or week. I'm going to try and use the event calendar to help me play some multiplayer games and if no one turns up thats fine, i'll either still play it or push myself to play my single player backlog instead. I was also thinking maybe we can help each other on the backlog scene where we have a game we focus on each month perhaps where we all play it and share tips, stories, high scores and how we feel the game plays? That way it also feels like single player games aren't just on your own and gives you another reason to play so we can help others around here play their own backlog too. I'd be more inclined to play some of my games knowing I could help others....or get some much needed help from yourselves too! I forgot to add on my list the updated remasters of Resident Evil games....I need to see the updated scenes and story as 2 and 3 back in the day were some of my favourite memories as a kid.

  29. Too big. I think I have a problem. I have plenty of top quality games to play, I just choose not to play them. Dishonored series, Bioshock series, Borderlands series, every Star Wars game, most Assassins Creed games, Metro series, older Stalker games, Fallout games, and many more like it. The only series I've really sat down and played through is Splinter Cell as I love them games, although I didn't finish Blacklist. I have over 1,600 on Steam after redeeming my keys from this Humble Turkey bundle. About 300 on GoG, and this doesn't even include the games On a Uplay, EA or even Epic. Then I have around 60-70 disc games on PS3 with many many more digital games, 50ish on Xbox360 and around same on Nintendo Switch. Everytime I tend to gravitate towards games that don't have a story, currently can't put down Elite Dangerous and also running No Man's Sky on Nintendo Switch. So these games either be very large in scale or you make your own story. Most of the time these games are time consuming. I go through periods where ill reinstall older games with the intention to complete them. I started one of the first MoH PC releases but haven't touched it in weeks now. Just pretty much uninstalled everything again this morning. If only I could be bothered to dedicate at least 1 hour each day to a different game, and only install one story based game at a time along side my main games, I might actually finish them. I just find the pull towards my main games too much.

    COD 2023

Would be a shame if so, first COD I have bought in years and if there is a lack of support / content I may not bother getting the next one until a substantial price drop. I am the sort that if I get burnt with a game when buying it, it leaves a sour taste for any future games. I have played Battlefield for years but the way this latest one was handled means I won't buy one on launch again, if this is how they handle COD it might be another 10 years before I try the series again.

    COD 2023

I agree. The problem is that everything Activision do is done to keep shareholders happy. A drop in players for MW2 will mean a drop in income. So rather than trying to get those players back they will have just looked at what makes them the most money, and that's when they release a new game.
