A teaser just dropped of a bit of internal playtesting. Its got some way to go to look like a decent competitor to FIFA but at the same time it already looks better than the PES alternative, eFootball. I'm asking them about gamemodes, especially Pro Clubs so hopefully we'll see something to rival it.

So I had a few games day after launch and imagine I will enjoy it, I didn't spend a lot of time with the first one but I'm particularly keen on the tank characters. Very much suit my playing style I think. I have just dived in and I felt I needed to spend some time actually learning the game so might try the tutorials when I next get on but for now getting the same error Lee is

Well, I still haven't had chance to get on. I seem to be having the LC-208 error that has been preventing many players getting on too. I'm glad that you have been enjoying it @Riff Machine . I think this game always feels better in a group, although I'm still concerned that 5v5 won't play as well as 6v6 but definitely committed to giving it a go. It does feel like they made the change to make it feel like a new game, when really it isn't at all. The OW '2' part was always going to be the PvE side of things and thats not coming until the next season so it will feel very similar. Either way, Bastion was fun to use for the few games I initially got on Day 1. Unfortunately, Bastion now has a glitch with his super that I believe they are fixing and i've read Tjorborn has similar issues too. What gamemodes are people trying out? Just quickplay or some Competitive?

I think the issue is the continuing console shortage issue means it's just not worth making a game solely for the new consoles. Publishers simply aren't willing to the lose the amount of sales from making games cross gen. Unfortunately I think it'll be another year before we start getting true next gen games.

I'm honestly annoyed at myself for not giving this a try during OW1. I've found the experience really fun and I'm also not getting mad like I would in certain PvP environments like Destiny. I'm just trucking along, trying out the various characters and seeing what feels good or not.

Bit late as Week 5 has already started but here are the stats for week 4. @James led the week in points, and there were a few pretty close games again. @Plumbers Crack suffered a heavy loss to Matty, but the fact that he had 2 starters who didnt play that week amd clock any points didn't help 😂 Matty is now the only undefeated team left, so we are hoping @G_dub52 can hand him his first loss in week 5 😉😂. A close game between James and @GazzaGarratt ended with only a 10 point difference, leaving James as the onlybother team with a winning record sitting at 3-1. 5 teams now sit on 2-2 - @techno , @Plumbers Crack , Lee, @Baabcat and myself, while @jordie1892 , @Findmartin and George all sit at 1-3 and are looking to get their winning record up in week 5. Everyone will be hoping for a good result in week 5 as the BYE weeks start in week 6 which can make a huge difference in results with players having to be regularly switched out and potential trades happening 🙂

Finally a new football game is in the works! F2P and with many licensed players. Could go either way but anything to give EA and Konami a kick up the backside as they’ve become way too comfortable and complacent for over a decade now and I can’t even remember the last alternative football game we had

Looks decent enough and hopefully we'll get a full match gameplay soon! People can relax a bit knowing the game is still in development after months of silence.

Might go for the 'yota again because I used that in Sport for a bit, but still.... red Italian sports car. Might just do that instead, #yolo Having missed 2 weeks of League racing already I'm of the opinion that I might just have fun in a less competitive car anyway

Yeah, first week wasn't too bad actually. I seemed more consistent initially but then the penalties started coming and when you chase to push a little more when tyres are going off, they really drop off and mistake happen (soz Phil). Either way, if you do make a mistake now though you get punished for it in the main with large penalties which i think is correct overall. I still took heart though as only one or two major errors made the race harder. I felt quick and Phil had to do a ton of defending...it felt like the cars were twice as wide! 🤣 Thanks for sorting Philly, I need to now get back on the FG Achievements as we managed to rack up a few things in that race too which was nice to see.

Get in there, my team finally bounced back after last week! Although I think it helped that @Baabcat 's team had a stinker 🤣 Matty @Misneach_ , how do you keep on sneaking these wins?!! You can have a good week against you and you'll still just pull through ffs!!

You just hate the fact that its more special than Chris 😎 ....and i'm loving the fact that this keeps on going. It is very much fun watching the Chris' and Dave's trying to go for the top spot at FG. The 'Chris' argument recently seems to have turned the tide with it being 13-12 in their favour.

Unfortunately I'll be away this Thursday so will be missing Week 2. Hopefully I can join you guys for Week 3 onwards!

The other month I changed to Virign Media Internet. I initially had 200mb/s but after speaking to them the other day I upgraded to 500mb/s (£8 month extra). I thought I'd see how good it was by downloading a large game. Which game? Why COD of course. Coz they know fuck all about compression apparently. Anyway, a 189GB download would only take an hour. An HOUR! What the fuck? I don't even know what the point of this post is. To brag maybe? To show I'm a nerd? Both I think.

I might upgrade again just so I can beat that 🤷‍♂️

I don't care about the voices. The cgi-animation is outstanding.

It was a good race, annoying to have messed up so I couldn't see my fuel as it hampered how fast I could go though thanks to Lee and you battling, taking each other off and getting penalties did make it much easier. Willow springs is always a good race as that last corner is a pain! The few times I've raced it for the cafe books/circuit experience it seems harder on 7 than sport. Maybe I just need more practise 😄

Great races last week. Congrats to @Greboth winning the first league race, despite fuel saving and not knowing how much fuel he had left🤗 1. Greboth 2. Philly 3. Leeeeeeeeeeigh 4. Mike 5. CBA I think Tom has shown a big improvement and with some practice I'll be looking over my shoulder... Lee made up for Mike's lazy attitude in not shunting me off, by shunting me off. Although tyre choice kind of messed up Mike's race...get a grip @Mikepjbell 🙈 Hopefully @Bluebear has enough credits to get Gr.3 and Gr.4 cars, although the PP race at the end of the night was a lot of fun in crappy cars. I'll put up this week's race in the calendar shortly, Willow Springs.

I was going to put up more examples of great Chris' but it could go on forever. Currently it's a 52-48 split. Which was somehow good enough to give us fucking Brexit but isn't a big enough majority either way. So, in the interests of not dragging this on, let's just agree that both are good names. However, Lee is a REALLY shit name. I feel sorry anybody called that.

Am I the only that just doesn’t care? I am honestly struggling to understand why people are getting so wound up over the price of cosmetic items. If you don’t like the price, here’s a novel idea, don’t buy any skins. Do people really care that much about what their character looks like? I’m here to play a game, not look in the mirror. If that game comes for free then I’m all for it and am happy to enjoy the game even if I’m in default skins because it’s exactly the same game as people who do spend money on it.

It does, as well as cross-save progression.

I jumped on yesterday for a couple of games during the day and got into a lobby straight away. We won and I ended up getting play of the game with Ana, I was fortunate to have a team of people who just wrecked. Ended up just jumping into some casual games or what ever it’s called, didn’t try any new characters yet as wanted to use my old favourites and get my aim back in. Is this cross play by any chance?

Having never played OW1, I found this to be fairly enjoyable after the initial logging in bullshit. I've been playing around with a few characters, and trying to unlock some of the other ones, but I feel like this will be one I'll enjoy much more with some FGers. I'll dig in to this some more in the coming days. Maybe I'll find a character that sticks with me.

Here ill put in a small summary for you Let's copy over watch one paste it with a 2 and tell everyone it's free so our hame doesn't die oh and also and new characters so they think it's a new game also change all night maps to day day maps to night and make some sort of purchasable currency for all the skins.

I'd put a lot of the blame at the feet of cross play & cross gen. Old generations, it always seemed the first 6-12 months were a slow uptake but this would swell until the vast majority of people upgraded. With more and more games supporting cross play and cross gen, there's less reason to upgrade when you can play the same games with the same friends just with slightly worse graphics. I disagree on this, Moore's law might not strictly apply these days we're still roughly following it which means continued advancements in computational power. The problem is how that power is being used; I will be getting the new CoD but, outside of the graphics, is there anything actually in the game that couldn't have been done 2, or more, generations ago? Generally speaking all we've seen of more power, both CPU and GPU, is better graphics and bigger open world maps. There's been little advancements in leveraging the processing power to make better games; things like object permanence or our actions having impacts on the game world outside of a few predefined story paths.

Here's the full gameplay release event, including the Ambassadors and clubs so far signed up to them. Obtaining Ronaldo I think is solid news and the gameplay looks decent enough, especially for a Free 2 Play game. They've said it includes 2v2 and 3v3....shame I didn't hear about a mode similar to Pro Clubs but we can live in hope they can do something like that on release. The Divisions when playing look great too. I don't think it will play as well as FIFA straight off the bat but this looks miles better than what eFootball offers. A 200 strong team on one game should mean this game gets well supported and has every chance. Would love to see a release date in the first part of the year.

We shall see, I don't have much faith in the triple A boys and football games seem notoriously difficult to pull off. Hope they do 🤗

Yeah, its hard to get too excited over this especially now knowing that absolute gem 😅 However, its not all doom and gloom just yet. West Ham have signed up with UFL as I think you'll be able to buy certain elements of real life teams to help create your own team logo, kit, etc. This video shows a few more bits too and the graphics are promising so far. Still, its that gameplay we need to see and we don't know any release date yet still 😞

This also runs on the same engine as eFootball so it would be hilarious if this upstages it in any way!

After seeing what eFootball has become, can this have a launch date in this year please?

Football Italia on the mega drive was a classic lol and sensible soccer too although I had to go round my mates to play that when I was little lol Variety is the spice of gaming 🤣

That's really good to know, cheers for that. 5 years should mean at least it should be half decent. I recently logged all my games down and found so many football game variations that weren't FIFA or PES so its nice to see another into the market finally. I really hope there's many licenced clubs as gamers are a fickle bunch and it will impact the game if they haven't got many clubs full names, etc. I'm gonna check the interwebz too to see if we can find anything else online and share here!

It's been in development since 2016 as well so they have had plenty of time to master this. It looks like licensed players but they are not sure on how many licensed clubs there will be but I really hope they get a good base of licensed bits just to get the ball rolling. It will be nice to see a rival as you say and I hope this turns out to be a winner 😋
