  1. Been playing this last few days and it's a great game! A light RPG adventure game set in Norway with all the busywork cut out. It's basically a watered down Skyrim with hints of Hertic and made by just one person. Combat is a bit janky but great fun and there are some really good enemies done well like spiders. Kinda feels like an linear open world game with a classic 90's feel. Great soundtrack and only a tenner too!

  2. wow it looks beautiful too with nice atmosphere, how's the story, is it good or at least average?

  3. I'm really hoping this one is good. The fact they have Peter Weller reprising his role is a good sign. Let's hope the game lives up to the hype. Fingers crossed.

    Hi.

Thanks, man. Thanks, man and yeah, I understand. It’s good to know what others are into. The last single player game I completed was The 3D All Stars version of Mario 64 for Switch, I beat the game and also obtained 100% completion in that game last month

  6. At E3, being given unrestricted access to this game it was probably one of my most looking forward to games ever. But that was in 2018, who knows if it's even the same game as before. I don't care personally about fighting on deck, as I was looking to this like a world of warships/ black flag.

No I haven't tbh! I'm looking to get some of the Mickey Mouse games in chronological order at some point. I really need to get back into Kingdom Hearts too.

I really liked Mickey Mania, did you ever play that one Lee? The first level was Steamboat Willie

  11. Gameplay trailer revealed yesterday Looking at it, I couldn't get a huge feel for how it will look and play. We don't know how the gunplay will 100% feel until we see a more detailed gameplay and UI/HUD. The story parts is looking good so far, and the voiceover for Robocop is quality. Still probably a bit to go until we can see if we're looking forward to a must-buy me thinks.

Seem's there are a few of us with a fondness for the megadrive in here so thought I would get some chat going (I'm hopefully going to pick one up later, I think the retro chats with you guy's has given me a kick up the arse to finally replace my broken one 😄 ) I'm sat watching some gameplay of Mickey Mouse's castle of illusion, this was the only game I owned in another language (Japanese for some reason) so for the most part I didn't have an idea what was going on but it was a platformer so easy enough to play ^_^ On the video I'm watching currently it looks like it holds up fairly well as far as visuals and the such goes. So any other fond megadrive memories?

    Hi.

Hi, A few people have suggested I make an introduction thread so here goes. I’m 29 year old dude from UK who is into video games, getting drunk, watching movies, watching TV shows, smoking, vaping and using the internet. Since this is a video game forum, I will name a few genres I like. I like shooter, arcade, beat em up, fighting and platformer games. I’m into all consoles but mainly play PlayStation consoles. You can call me Brett, BrettyBoy or Bretty, whichever works for you. ✅

  14. This looks superb. Everyone is saying it based on Assassin's Creed Black Flag and can honestly say the ship elements in the game made it so good. It does look near carbon copy of those bits barring some PvP combat when onboarding another ship. There's something very satisfying preparing your cannons and unleashing the fury into another ship's stern. Already looks a definite must have.

  15. It’s pretty minimalistic but quite intriguing. You always have a handful of quests to work through and everything seems to flow nicely. You arrive at a mysterious island so you’re as much in the dark as your character but it’s great to see things unfold without it being too plot or quest heavy. I’m 12 hours in and it’s about a 13-15 hour experience which is just about right especially if people are burnt out with open world games of late.

    Skull and Bones

I saw bits of the 'gameplay' (lol) event and the game looks even less ambitious than the already generic as fuck Assassin Creed games. There's no fighting during boarding which defies conceptual belief! They've basically taken Black Flag and stripped 90% of the game. Sea of Thieves had many issues at launch but even that had basic features you'd expect and eventually flourished into a pretty well-rounded experience. This is barebones by even Ubisoft's already shitty standards. Complete waste of time and another pile of shit incoming from the company that is making XDefiant, Ghost Recon BR and The Division Heartlands. Even a decade ago, Ubisoft showed way more originality and ambition with their games. This is another dreadful showing.

  17. Didn't know that, that is interesting! Tbh, its probably time past that allows us to be so nice and forthcoming of both consoles but I do really think they both complimented each other. Whilst at the time they hated each other in the market and were allowed to make jibes at each other (looking at the initial Sega's adverts 😅), now I just look back and would advise anyone to get both because switching between the two at times is such a joy to have the option. Unique games developed either side, alongside the game controllers, makes it worthwhile.

    Hi.

Thanks, man and I play a variety of games to be honest. I mainly play single player but I do play multiplayer sometimes too. Dead By Daylight is one multiplayer game I like playing and speaking of that, my PlayStation Plus subscription expired over a month ago so I’m going to have to get that back at some point.

    Hi.

Nice introduction to the forums Brett, welcome. I'm sure you will enjoy it here. Anything in particular you play game wise? I know you mentioned genres, but we have a good amount of folk who party up on certain nights and it's good banter. Cod, destiny, fifa, gran turismo and lot's more. Again it's great to see you make an intro post so we can get to know you better. Hope you enjoy it here, It's a good place to be. The best gaming forum on the interwebs. 😎

Oh damn I forgot about Desert and Jungle Strike, even the 3rd one Urban Strike. I think because I never owned them, but I played and swapped them with a mate and they were sooooo good! Aladdin was superb as well. Back to the future was impossible, could barely get past the 2nd level. Remember staying at a friends and we struggled with it for the best part of a night.

  26. Desert Strike and Jungle Strike NBA Jam Aladdin Ghouls n ghosts Interesting factoid about megadrive games by EA (with the yellow tab). EA originally reverse engineered the genesis because SEGA wanted much stricter controls on who they would allow to make games. Seeing they had a work around made SEGA buckle and grant them permission.

  27. World of Illusion > Castle of Illusion. The story that could be played co-op was literally one of my all time top games of the Mega Drive. How they made Mickey and Donald work together in certain parts was really ahead of the times. Each level is incredibly made too. Never gets old completing this game. Premier Manager (the original one) was super. I used to play as Cambridge United iirc. So hard to get up the leagues, especially with such pants budgets! The other one that got me into racing games early doors was Virtua Racing. The cartridge is unusually large compared to the others due to 'brand new 3d graphic models' it brought from the arcade machines to home consoles. Grabbed this from Wiki: "Due to the complexity of the Model 1 board, a home console version seemed unlikely, until 1994 when a cartridge design incorporating the Sega Virtua Processor (SVP) on an extra chip was created to enable a version on the Genesis/Mega Drive. This chip was extremely expensive to manufacture, leading Sega to price the Genesis version of Virtua Racing unusually high: US$100 in the United States[13] and £70 in the United Kingdom."

  28. @IRaMPaGe Classic film, I highly recommend it. Most of the actors are the musicians of the time. The main guy, Leroy Horsemouth was/is a famous drummer, for example. Classic tunes and translation into English 🙂

  29. Yeah that tune has fantastic horns and brass and the dub is real. Think King Tubby has a hand in that tune as it's from African Brothers meet King Tubby in dub. Lee Scratch is legendary as well, but your right him and King Tubby were the first 2 that I know of. Almost like the Godfathers of dub. It just hits a different way, I love it when the bass gets a bit wobbly as well. I also respect the fact that the dub pays homage to the original and doesn't destroy the roots. Dub nights sound superb, sadly nothing like that way up here in the Highlands of Scotland. A bit off topic, but Rusko the producer an early pioneer in dubstep is more modern and electronic in the 2000's. This tune here absolutely slaps. It's more modern dub, but I think it has some elements of it with modern sounds and equipment. See what you make of it Phil.

  30. Nice tune👊 Yeah, a dub version is pretty much a remix of a A side in the old days. Producers would normally drop elements of the song in an out of the mix. I'm a big fan, King Tubby was one of the original guys for that along with Lee Perry. They also play around with frequencies. Jah Shaka would often just make the bass vibrate your whole body (and he's a Spurs fan) at his dub nights. A mate of mine from school runs a reggae label and reissues old 7 and 12 inch vinyl so I'm lucky I got to know this music.
