    Cold War Season 2

I've jumped on this game again recently and it's actually not bad now. Loads of maps now we're at the end of it's support cycle. Seems the best thing to do with a COD games is wait to buy it until a year after its release and then you'll play a finished game. I can only manage maybe an hours play and then it starts to piss me off 🤷‍♂️

  3. Beta is now available for download on all formats. If you've pre-ordered you'll be able to play tomorrow. On Friday it's open to everyone. It's around 17gb on PS5. There's a calendar event for Friday buy I'll probably give it a go tomorrow.

Noppity, nope, nope, nope. Let that baby marinade until the New Year then decide after the early adopters find any bugs. Never, ever Day 1 a Microsoft OS

    Cold War Season 2

Funnily enough, the amount of content we get now is what we used to get day one in COD games back in the day. It's such a shame. Cold War could've been decent off the bat if we had 15+ maps rather than about 6 with 2 scaled down ones and then Nuketown for the 30th time. Vanguard has 20 maps which is ideal - it's just a shame they don't seem very good at all as is the entire game. Things have gotten much worse since they stopped the paid season passes for map packs as they aren't obliged to deliver now.

  6. We should set up an evening for that. I really enjoyed a few go's on it with Tom @LordBaguette . Very underrated multiplayer mode.

    Cold War Season 2

In fairness Kenny @IRaMPaGe is still playing it and putting up a lot of videos in his PPR which tells me its still good in its places. I must admit, I can't even remember why people hated this game so much. I personally stopped as I got tired of just playing normal MP modes. I'd love to get back on a CoD to play some Search and Destroy. Its been ages since we used to have many of us dominating that mode on previous CoDs!

  8. Best start a new thread then. This is more of a journal of what I'm doing, what I want to do, any challenges and stuff along the way. If it helps someone then great 🙂 First off, I absolutely loved it. It felt so good to be coding again, I forgot how much I enjoyed doing it, even if it's been 25 years or so since I last did anything. So after spending a few hours this weekend coding and fiddling, I now have a very basic COVID statistics tracker and a very basic weather app. The reason I did this is because I just can't stomach a full 8 hour lesson to have a simple bit of text saying "hello world" at the end as that's always been where I've lost interest in the past. I wanted something that although pretty much useless, is an actual piece of software that works, and also provides real time information. For this I had to use API calls. So I set my sights a bit higher and went for it. All I can say is that it's piss. It's really so much easier than I'd have anticipated, what would've been a 500 page project before was done with no more than a single page of code. The tools nowadays are so much easier too, making it a lot easier than I'd have anticipated. I'm shuffling things around a bit in order of what I would say is the easiest, then the most difficult, in case anyone else wants to have a go. If you're keen, then follow this guide: 1: Download Python from their website. 2: Download PyCharm. This will be your code writing software. 3: Start writing code! This COVID tracker is extremely basic and simple to make, you can have this up and running in an hour or less: If you have problems running the code with something about the requests package not being installed, then simply right click on the word "requests" in the code, click on "context options" or something similar, then "install requests package". Try again. Took me a little while to figure out, I installed the requests package on my PC which didn't work, until I realised that PyCharm is a closed working environment when testing, so it has to be installed inside Pycharm. 4: If you've got all that up and running and want to try a new project, then sign up to Openweathermap.org. Do this first as there's a two hour delay after signing up until you can actually use their facilities. Then follow this video: IMPORTANT: Since the vid was made, a few things have changed in how the API calls work. These will be in the API URL, most notably where it'd say "London" before, it'll now say "London,uk" - small little things like that will drive you nuts. I'll post up anything else in here, but this is a fantastic little side hobby. Even if you just spend an hour doing the COVID thing to see if it's for you or not, it's worth it.

    Last movie you watched

I LOVE that dude!!! I'm actually only subscribed to about a dozen people on youtube, but he is one of them. I check to see if he has new vids every night. His videos are just flat out hilarious, and he's also right on point with his critic of movies as well, I agree with prob 99.9% of what he says about movies. No matter how many times he splices in Jonah Jameson's "You serious?" into his vids, it still cracks me up 😅 That and his well timed comments about "Tatiana" lol.

  10. Got my head down the last couple of weeks and concentrated on getting this game completed. So glad I went back to it. The story, including the side missions, is top drawer. The choice of endings is nice too. Will go back and platinum it at some point as I'm already close and will try the multiplayer as well. But a break first as I've barely played much else.

  12. 😂😂😂 ive been promised that I will still get Thursday nights but we shall see if that actually happens! If he doesn’t get a wriggle on then it’s looking very likely I will miss next week at least… It was really unlucky for you fella clipping that barrier it would have been a really close race at the front between @Mikepjbell @phil bottle you and me. Well done @phil bottle on the podium, it was a really good race and I was rather worried that I had made a mistake by choosing mediums instead of softs, but thankfully the pace (whilst slightly slower) was quicker then the hards which gave me a chance at running long.

  13. 8/10, thoroughly enjoyed it, and I'm the furthest thing away from a fanboi that there is. A few little niggles in the directing but I'm chalking that down to pressures and time constraints due to the 'rona. If you're a bond fan you'll love it, from the shit bond theme that'll no doubt clean up at the music awards to the bond girl who's supposedly a bombshell but is just mediocre and who nobody's ever heard of outside of a bond film, to the cars and gadgets and of course the shaken, not stirred line. Very good, go see it.

  14. l can’t believe I made such a noob mistake but these things happen. After that though it was a good race trying to catch back up so third wasn’t a bad recovery drive. 1 more lap and I would have had Phil too but thatyhow these things go. Looking forward to next week and not crashing myself out on lap 1. Also, @JBR-Kiwi isn’t it about time your Mrs dropped the sprog so you miss a week or 2 😅
