  1. Two good races again last night and I think we had 10 in the end for the first race, so cheers all. Two more 4th place finishes for me, although @Lurch was very unlucky at Tokyo and would have been 4th but for his penalty. James, for someone who doesn't practice you are very quick. Please keep not practising πŸ€— @Mikepjbell made me go weak at the knees at the top of Mount Panorama, i never recovered πŸ˜† @slamminbones and @crispymorgan seemed less vocal in their indignation with the car, track, themselves than usual, a good sign I think😁 @jordie1892 managed good pace seeing as he got his practice in qualifying 😬 Constantly impressed with what @JBR-Kiwi is able to do with the Beetle and @Bluebear too considering he doesn't know some tracks. Standard of driving overall is definitely improving and races getting closer but @Greboth and Kiwi are still a class apart. Special shout to @LordBaguette who managed 1.3 races, hats off sirπŸ˜…

  2. Cheers for the update @Mikepjbell πŸ‘ Next week will be the final two races of the summer season and the Manufacturers championship...so hopefully we'll get another good turnout. Will likely go back to one league race a week in September but any thoughts on that we can discuss on here beforehand.

  3. Had a cracking first race nothing to be vocal about really as Phil said the 2nd race was a little different but at least in both racers I could see a car in front of me which wasn't a lapping car.

  4. I've noticed some weeks so members can't mske the first race on time so something maybe to discuss is possibly have a race first then the 2nd the league race.

  6. Great races last night and as usual I was Mr Third, but that's not a complaint. I'm now racking my brain on how to bridge the gap to Kiwi and Greebs and make up that second or so a lap that they seem to have on me on most tracks. My thoughts are that'll I'll need to make some fundamental changes to the way I'm approaching corners maybe, although Kiwi did notice, to both our detriment, that I was braking a bit early on a corner in Panorama. I'm all ears Kiwi and Greebs on how I can bridge that gap. Maybe just more practice?

  7. Following @Mikepjbell posting in the summer league thread about not knowing where he's losing time to myself and Kiwi. I thought I'd start a thread where we can discuss and compare laps to try and improve everyone's lap times. I figure this can take one of 3 forms, 1. A lap guide. I've done a couple of these in the past but basically talking through one of my fast laps, where I'm braking, references I'm using for braking or turning in etc. If you want one of these just say which track and car class (or specific car) and I shall get try to get it done asap or; 2. Drop me a message and we can hop on a server together and compare laps in real time. 3. Which I think would probably be most useful is if you post a video of a lap and I'll do a lap in the same car so we could compare and see if there's any specific corner or corners you're losing time. Some general tips to get this thread started; Consider the racing line - I think we all know about taking the racing line of taking the widest entry into a corner, clipping the apex on the inside and then running as wide as possible on the exit. However most corners shouldn't be taken on their own and it's worth considering how your line out of a corner will effect the next one. If it's a corner on to a straight you want to focus on your exit to get the best run down the straight. However to get the best line through the final corner, you might have to compromise your line through the last but one corner. This compromise will lose you time through the corner but overall you'll gain back more time with the better run on to the straight. Try to be smooth - this is easier said than done and even more so when using a controller. However any sudden braking (more so coming off the brakes than on), steering input or throttle input can upset the balance of the car causing understeer or oversteer both of which will cost you time. Understand tyre grip - I'm not going to bore you with the full details but the general principle is good to understand. A tyre only has so much grip, if 100% of that grip is being used for braking then if you try to steer you will lock up or, as we now all use ABS *cough* Jordie *cough*, understeer. Therefore you want to get all your braking done before the corner - it is possible to carry some braking in to a corner (known as trail braking) however this is tricky as you need to constantly balance your braking and turning to come off the brake the more you turn in. With some practise it is possible though and I find it easier on longer corners like T1 and Kyoto for example.

  8. Great to see so many turn up, even if I assume it was a little last minute! It sounds like it made for two great races because of it so thanks for people to continue to turn up. I'm not overly down that the scores have ended up how they have as we've had many miss outs this season, with our team one of the most. So whilst it doesn't look tight lower down, @Lurch and me sit with 11.9 average score per FGer, per race whereas 2nd place @Mikepjbell and @crispymorgan sit 13.6. Only 1.5 points off which is virtually a place each on the finish line and it would be a different story. Consistency will always be king on this game though, and its good to have people as objectives to work towards to know you are getting better. @phil bottle a little premature to say good and constructive points, although I agree with one race per week as I think some struggle to make it all night on GT Sport. Sticking with one constructor has been fun though so far, even if it can be more challenging against your own team some weeks.

  11. I've got a PS5 code for curry's that I don't need. So I'm giving it away. It expires on the 17th. First person to ask for it will get it.

  13. I think the key part to this is they would still need c.500 smackers to part with to make the code useful πŸ˜ƒ Many of the keen FGers seem to have one now in the UK and the others are saving up for one. Shame this doesn't help the Americans as I'm sure some of them are more in the space of wanting one but can't get hold of them.

    Diablo 4

Diablo 4 game director Louis Barriga, lead level designer Jesse McCree, and World of Warcraft designer Jonathan LeCraft are all out at Blizzard Entertainment. The news was first reported by Kotaku and then confirmed by Activision Blizzard. "We can confirm Luis Barriga, Jesse McCree, and Jonathan LeCraft are no longer with the company," a representative said. "We have a deep, talented roster of developers already in place and new leaders have been assigned where appropriate. We are confident in our ability to continue progress, deliver amazing experiences to our players, and move forward to ensure a safe, productive work environment for all.” A source at Blizzard also told PC Gamer that the senior developers are no longer in Blizzard's internal employee directory. The news comes during a tumultuous month as Activision Blizzard reacts to a lawsuit by the state of California alleging that the company has a sexist culture and widespread workplace toxicity. Louis Barriga was game director on Diablo 4, and has been with Blizzard for at least 15 years. He was previously a quest and systems designer, and a lead game designer on World of Warcraft. He was involved in the development of The Burning Crusade, Warlords of Draenor, Wrath of the Lich King, and Cataclysm expansions, as well as Diablo 3: Reaper of Souls. Jesse McCree was a lead level designer at Blizzard, working on Diablo 3 and multiple World of Warcraft expansions. McCree had been employed since December 2005, according to his LinkedIn page. He's apparently the namesake of Overwatch character Jesse McCree, and his involvement in the "Cosby Suite" group chats documented by Kotaku led some Overwatch fans to ask the name of the character be changed. McCree also has at least five characters in World of Warcraft named after himself. Jonathan LeCraft had worked at Blizzard since 2005 as well, serving as a senior game designer for World of Warcraft. He has worked primarily on World of Warcraft since The Burning Crusade. This situation is developing, and PC Gamer has reached out to Activision Blizzard for comment.

  15. Ha! Sounds good. I haven't played Minecraft in a bit. I've been hooked on Elder Scrolls and League of Legends lately. I'm definitely due for some Minecraft. πŸ‘ I've had my account for yeeeears, so I'm sure it's the old Java version. I hope I don't run into any issues trying to switch over!

  16. I was chatting to Dave about it the other day but sadly no, we couldn't figure out what was wrong. There several threads about the same thing on the Windows help but none of them actually contain solutions, just lots of people moaning about the same issue. I did find a page that had a few steps to fix it (make sure windows is up to date, reset the store, verify computer etc.) and none of them worked. It doesn't make any sense to me that if Dave is logged in to his MS account in Windows, on the store and his PC is linked; why does it error saying no devices linked.

  17. So this week @RenFenggeand I went to visit Athens Greece and planned a little FG meet and greet with @Tar-Eruntalion who is an Athens native. We met John and his sister for a nice dinner at Hytra, a roof top restaurant with some nice views of the skylines and the Acropolis. I've been making posts of IG over the course of our trip but click below for the photos of the trip thus far in case you uncultured heathens don't have IG.
