With the announcement of the Minecraft better together update which supports cross play we've chatted about having an FG server. Last time though we never pulled the trigger as it still hadn't been rolled out to all platforms. Chatting to Matty @Misneach_ the other day about quite enjoying playing on a vanilla server, he checked and the better together is now across all platforms. So PC, PS4/5. Xbox's, Switch, phones and tablets alike can all play together on the same server and with discord available for free, it's easy to all chat together too. What is Minecraft? I think most people know of the game but having had a few conversations with FG'ers not everyone knows the game. In short, Minecraft is an open world sandbox game with the aim to traverse and survive the 3 dimensions and ultimately kill the 2 bosses, the Wither and Ender Dragon. Along the way you can take the short route, the long, manually mine and harvest resources or set up automatic farms, build, trade, fight - it's up to you. How to join; If you're on console or mobile device, the version you download will be the correct version. For PC, you will need to make you download the version which in most places it is referred to as the "Windows 10 version" (if you want to cross play do NOT get the java edition). If you're new to MC on the PC then you will need to buy it however, if you had an old java account you could, and maybe still can, claim a free Windows 10 copy. Actually joining the server, you will need an invite, however Matt has set the server up as friends of friends, so one of us already on the server should be able to chuck an invite your way if you want to join. We just need your Microsoft account name to send you a friends request and invite. I'm sure there's something important I'm missing but any questions just ask and I'll update this post to include the Q&A's.

So this week @RenFenggeand I went to visit Athens Greece and planned a little FG meet and greet with @Tar-Eruntalion who is an Athens native. We met John and his sister for a nice dinner at Hytra, a roof top restaurant with some nice views of the skylines and the Acropolis. Well the fires are further up north and the ones in a suburb on the outskirts of Athens were extinguished Also yeah I definitely want to visit all of you in the UK etc @GazzaGarratt Someday when things get a bit better both financially and with the whole corona situation

The server has been up for about a week already so we've made a start on setting up a base. We've set up on a Savanna plain for now and this is where you'll spawn in as a new player. Early game it's hard to have enough resources to set up big farms so we have a small crop farm, a small automatic melon and pumpkin farm as well as a kelp farm (which can be used as fuel in furnaces) We've also captured and started breeding some animals as needed the food as well as the wool for beds and leather for books. Matt has set up an automatically storage room for the most common items in the game. This just requires dumping everything in a single chest and it will get put in the correct chests. With more chests down the stairs and the potential for some bulk storage to be added in the future. The red and gold rails on the right hand side of the above picture, is a small furnace array. It's only made up of 8 furnaces but put your items in the top minecart and the fuel in the bottom, flick the lever and your items will get evenly distributed amongst the furnaces, smelted and returned to the bottom chest. Effectively this means smelting this 8x faster and great when you need to smelt hundreds of one item. We also have an afk'able mob farm just off shorte that was only finished last night. Mobs in MC give you several important things so it's useful to have an automatic way to harvest these drops. Due to lack of resources,the farm is quite small but ultimately will be 4x the size of what you see here. And of course, the drops from the mob farm are automatically sorted too 😄 Plenty more still to do but this is a good start 🙂

the med countries as far as I Know bond more over food than drink but I would love to sometime come up north to where you are and go to a pub and have a beer or two but it's nice talking face to face with people from other cultures, such a great experience that is kinda rare, I could talk with @TurboR56Mini And @RenFengge For days about anything, all of you are great here at fg and I am grateful at being a part of this family

Hytra was a Michelin ⭐, and yes, the execution was spectacular. With that said, that was more about the experience. The food, the wine, the company. We were building memories and friendships. The majority of other other meals is as local as it gets. Massive portions, seaside dining, popular squares. Hell, if I found a dude grilling on the street I'd post up, drop some euros and get into it. The island fire looks the worst so far that I've seen. They evacuated one of them, it's scary shit. Very analogous to California which has been on fire for a few years now. As for drinking culture, apparently we have to visit Crete for that 😁.

I don't know Athens but I know a few people from Exarcheia, I bet it's a lot of fun for you showing these guys around your city. Never mind what Lee says, we need an FG holiday in Greece 🤗

Of course we do, food is the ultimate unifier. Every culture has to eat, breaking bread is the most powerful way to experience our cultures. As for the fires, we drove south east yesterday to Poseidon's Temple and saw some damage. There are some raging ones north and west of us. It's pretty crazy for sure. Looks like some international help arrived at our hotel from Qatar.

A quick Google suggests there are third party methods for have 2 discord accounts on one PC. However I've no experience with any of them to recommend any so this would be at your own risk and your mileage may vary. Given how easy it is to use Discord on a mobile device, the easiest way (and potentially safest) would be the PC user logs in on the PC and the PS4 user joins using a phone.

It looked like L4D version 3 but worried it was a shallow game and it sounds like it is. I think if it goes down in price and people wanna try it could come on my radar but we've got things like World War Z that is 4 player and zombie killing levels anyway and that serves its purpose.

Getting shit faced is the most powerful method of experiencing culture in my experience but food comes a close second. Go eat with the peasants though, some of those dishes look Michelin star quality 🙂 I love Mediterranean food, just for things like tomatoes, as they're so much nicer and taste incredible. I'm glad you've not had to deal with the fires, they look scary in some places.

I totally agree with everything said @J4MES OX4D . A season or 2 in the Premier League would of been special to watch and a great test of his ability. Would of been interesting seeing which team he would of went to. Only a couple of teams could afford his wage and sign on etc. Would rather city didn't get him. Would be interesting to see him at Liverpool or Chelsea tbh. MLS or China is a waste eventho the money would be there.

I would've liked to see him in the Premier League as one final test of his ability. It's like he's playing in Championship-equivalent league now which is less competitive than the SPL. It's definitely bolstered chances of winning the Champions League for a final time but there wouldn't be much merit in it after what they've spent and the rules they've broken to get there. Still, it's easy money and an easy league to close out his career and way better than going to the MLS or China.

I get what you mean by the French league, but a bumper pay and a shot at the champions league is the best anyone can hope for before retirement. Even if you are the best of your generation. Didn't Ramos go to PSG also? Who else did PSG buy? Sounds like some serious money getting thrown about over there.

Messi signs for PSG. What a poor way to end your career in the French League but it's his best chance of winning the CL again and he'll get a bumper payday for it. PSG have bought it all and now they have to win it all.

Was really tasty, a malty beer. Reminds me of a darker German beer. It went extremely well with my piles of meats! It is a Greek beer too.

I would have liked for it to be good but from what I've seen it's a paint by numbers soulless version of L4D.

Anyone tried the beta? I could not be bothered. Shills are shilling hard but the general consensus seems to be that this game isn't all that fun, it's bloated and will be filled with microtransacitons. I still can't believe it's £50 to £90 - £25 or 4 for £90 would have been much more appealing. Left 4 Dead 3 on Source 2 with mod support would have been a monumental success but this Warner Bros tripe will struggle worse than Evolve IMO.

This has honestly been one of the better seasons for F1. It's nice to see some other teams getting some podiums this year.

I’m nearing the end of my journey with ender lilies and I’ve been really pleased with it overall. Yes, there have been some moments where it’s been frustrating, but much like old school gaming, trial, error and repetition leads to success eventually. Some boss fights have been a walk in the park while others have been a test of my patience. Effectively using the various spirits you acquire throughout the game are a major path to success. Thankfully, even if moments do get frustrating, the music manages to keep tempers down with its orchestral beauty throughout. Seriously, this games score is on par with any AAA release ever. Overall, I’d give this. 9/10. I’m docking a point mostly due to animation locks and enemies frequently using that to get some cheap hits in as you can’t cancel to block or dodge. Still a magnificent game for those looking for a solid 2D adventure.

Seems that Overwatch 2 has been delayed until 2023. That should be just enough time for this current Blizzard shit show to blow over😂
