Pull up a chair, grab a cup of tea. As most of you know, I do the odd matched betting now and again, and a side effect of this is that occasionally the bookies want me to get responsibly addicted to their casinos. To do this they'll put a nice little lure on their rods and cast it to my bullshit Gmail account, and today I bit on one of those lures, nice and deep. Today's lure was from Grosvenor Casinos and it came in the form of a £10 bonus to use on their live casino. I'll save you the boring shit but live casino bonuses are always great as you stand the highest chance of making something. To do this, I needed to roll that £10 over 5 times which we always do on roulette as it's the most constant win. So I enter the roulette room and stick a quid on red, hit autoplay, 50 rounds, begin. The action has begun. Now at this point I'd like to point out that these offers tend to get flung at me on Fridays because everyone knows that responsible gambling is best promoted on a Friday night when people are pissed, this includes me. So usually when this happens I open a tab on my PC, do the autoplay thing and hop on the ps4. Like I did last time. Now you guys all know the loveable affable chappie I am after a few drinks so last time I did this I was prompted to pick a name. After a few beers. Anyway, fast forward a few months to this afternoon and the wheel is spinning, when the croupier (the well dressed meth heads who manage to keep the shakes off long enough to spin a wheel on a table) starts talking about horses. A bit confused, I put it down to him chatting to one of the players or something. Yet he goes on about touching horses, how disgusting this is, how unacceptable, etc. Proper moody, but I'm just watching the wheel spin and the ball hit the reds. This goes on for 10 mins or so, eventually penny drops when I win again and see my username pop up as a winner on the screen. I giggle to myself. He goes on. Horses this, inappropriate that, and he's getting more and more irritated. Eventually he reports me to the roulette police who then change my name to something less horsy. I've still not said a word in chat or anything, the only way he's seen my name is when I win. So now I wanna play his game. Hit settings. Change name. "safespacepls". Submit. Ha, that'll learn 'im. He starts flapping again at how disgusting this is and says it's unacceptable that I changed my name back again. The roulette police step in again and he's put his dummy back in. Confused, I try again. "safespacepls". He kicks off again, each time getting angrier and angrier. Eventually he's having a moment about how the supervisors are never quick enough to action these pigs who pick these names. The table is spinning. The ball is in action. Whilst he's having a flap, I'm trying to figure out why my name won't change, and in doing so keep changing it back from my supervisor - assigned name to my original name. The wheel slows, the ball lands on red. My name flashes on the screen so he can see it. He rips his cute little coat off, exclaims THAT'S IT and storms off. Someone else takes his place, sees my name and smiles, but never speaks it out loud. He's one of us. So today was the first time in many, many years I've managed to get a croupier to rage quit and it was completely unintentional. The name? Iwankhorses 😄 Funniest £20 I ever made.

I'm inclined to agree a bit here, i'm actually very tempted to just build an awesome gaming PC as the games I play are cross platform anyway.

I thought up an interesting idea a few weeks ago to buy a bunch of old Nintendo Power magazines and put them in display cases to mount on a wall in my game room. First magazine came in today and I’m pumped! Certainly not in mint condition but surprisingly it’s in fantastic shape. Goldeneye magazine should be here on Monday. Still trying to figure out which other ones I want. Obviously Mario 64, Mario Kart, Donkey Kong. Probably Mortal Kombat, Star Fox, Tony Hawk......so many to choose from. I’ll update once the final collection is complete and mounted.

NOTE TO ALL! If you haven’t been on the new map yet, I’d log on slightly early as it’ll need to download the new map. To those who don’t know, we’ve gone from a 6km map to a 16km map.

I was actually thinking about that as even getting the tier 2 trader is a pain in the ass. He’s only 3km away but so many hills! I have yet to find a good way to get there and back so a temp base nearer would be good. I didn’t realise it was a thing either, gives me even more reason to go looting so I can cut down all teh doors.

Maybe the EPL should ban fans forever, that way we'll see a shit ton of goals every week!

This right here @Plumbers Crack will tell you if it is value for money. And then this because of the Microsoft GamePass you can get on your PC. Ultimately, after years of Sony trampling all over Microsoft in the console wars with the PS4 and their exclusives, I think we've all been waiting for a big move from them. The talk behind the scenes a week ago was Bungie but that proved to be false and it was actually the other big company beginning with B.

I actually do hope that the next gen does make more people consider PC. I for one have recently enjoyed my time on my own PC with some different games and cost is always a barrier which may not be in coming years. All I'll say is that just because i'm getting a PS5 at launch (much love to you all btw ❤️)I won't be packing my PS4 away. I'll always be drawn to wherever you all are in the main first. All I hope is that they open up cross gen like Destiny 2 will so I can play on a PS5 with anyone on a PS4 and talk to them too. This place proves you don't need to have the latest software to have a good time 😎 I just love consoles and was always wanting a next gen console to see what they are like. I hope it'll feel like it did with the Xbox 360 for me.

To be fair, ES, Fallout and Doom are all better on PC anyways. Considering there will be only one ES game in the coming generation, I don't see it being that big of a loss for sony. I'm waiting to see how they counter this move though. You've got to figure something is coming.

@Greboth I didn’t realise there was a book for that, that’s pretty cool as we need all the brass we can get. Our garden is looking pretty good at the moment, I’ve maxed out Living off the land, so I get 3x of every plant I harvest. We’re just lacking blueberries at the moment, once we get more of them I’ll turn them into seeds. The blueberry pies are very useful. I’m also looking at upgrading master chef again, so I can make Shepard’s pie and a load of other stuff.

I played it for a few hours over the weekend. It was ok, but didn't set the world on fire. The sniper rifles were buffed on purpose apparently, although I didn't use them at all, I can't snipe in CoD for shit. Mainly used Assault rifles which were pretty fun to use. It must be bad though because I was scoring and "eliminating" enemies relatively easily. Best game I can remember was Kill Confirmed on the desert map at 36-6. There must have been a load of buddy 8 year old Rambo's playing that one. There was one thing that did make me laugh out loud, some guy was trolling a kid in the pre-game lobby telling him that he had eaten his shit everyday and then called him young man!! 🤣 Maps were ok ish, although I did quite like Miami, which might go against the grain. I'm just not sure this one will capture the imagination as much as Modern Warfare to be honest. We'll see what the Beta brings in Oct and go from there. The only bonus was they were offering a cross gen option on the pre-sale. I'm more looking forwards to seeing what DICE do with Battlefield to be honest.

A little update from today; I think I may have found the best book ever! I get the brass door handle from every door I knock down so all the brass for us 😄 Crispy and I went to do a quest which turned in to more of a hunt as we found a few chicken, 2 deer and then I found a bear on the way back so about 140 meat and we weren't even trying to find animals. I think you're right about food though, I have the first level unlocked but moved on to unlocking other things. I want to get the next tier of extra meat then I think I'll put some points in to master chef so I can cook all the food I'm bringing back. I've also made an iron pick, so I think I'll go mining as I've marked so many iron, lead, nitrate on coal on my map it should be easy for me to dig some up.

I've foucsed on farming and food but it's a good idea for multiple people to level up food just in case that one person isn't on. Our farm is massive now, we're just lacking corn but i found two seeds earlier so hopefully they'll pick up soon. The base doesn't need to be reinforced quite a bit and then we can think about starting to build a new one somewhere. Although i think we may have to venture out soon, so we can find more stuff. One thing i will say is that we need to start looting everything. I went into a looted building earlier and everything, except the rubbish, was looted. I got about 6 books, 1000 brass and the two corn seeds from looting the rubbish. Time got away from me today, will try and update more during the week.

We (me and 3 brothers) were a Nintendo house growing up. NES, SNES, 64 were our first systems and that took me from elementary through high school. We got a PlayStation 2 at some point in high school and played that a good bit as well, but my formative gaming years were all Nintendo. The art on these magazines is definitely legit, but nostalgia is the real driver for me.

I'll be doing my game room when I move in a week or so. Can't wait, this is a great idea. Probably more Sega for me though.

Snipers will be getting nerfed for the beta and final game. I might just delete the Alpha and wait for the beta.

So the server finally finish building the world and it is HUGE!!! I spawned in a nice green zone and completed the initial quests for making some plant fibre clothing and bed and the trader it sent me to was in a large town / small city so plenty of loot to find. I originally hid at the top of a Sham foods factory to survive the first night but Rich said about it being a bad place to set up our temporary base so he found a better building to set up in. Rich, Lee and I have gone through plenty of bounty's to get that all important XP to the point I think we had 3 or 4 each to hand in to the trader at the same time. We've also found too much loot so we've had to place storage on the outside of a building to store stuff in that we can then come back to later. Though on that, we found out the hard way that if you loot a building before starting a quest that resets the building, it will also delete any storage you place in the area too 😞 We've had some fun too, the building Rich picked had a couple of zombie bears in so lots and lots of arrows later they were dead. Unfortunately I also found a house that a wolf and boar in the back but I thought they were in a cage. Turned out they weren't so that was almost instant death 😞 Lee has made a few push bikes for us so that will help with getting around. I think Lee has spent his points on getting the bikes where I've gone more in to hunting and cooking. I think Rich has done something similar to me too but not quite sure. I think both Lee and Rich have got up to Tier 2 quests where I'm still on Tier 1 but I've done quite a few so I must be close. I'm hoping it will only take 1 or 2 more quests for me to also get to Tier 2 so that's what I'll be working on.

It's fair to say that it's been a tough time for everyone. When my dad died 3 years ago, you were there when I came home from hospital and just wanted to kick back on destiny 1 ( greatest game ever). When my marriage went the way of the pear, this community was here for me. When shit got real dark, your constant enthusiasm went a long way. When I lost my way you guys always seemed to be there ready to chat. It's been a constant in a significant period of change that wouldn't be here if you didnt work so damn hard. So accept it knowing you are more than worthy. Ggfg 😉

At the moment, the only thing that would tempt me to buy a PS5 is if my PS4 dies. Ive had it since a couple of months after launch day and managed to keep it going since. It sits on top of some game boxes to help keep it cool and has a strip of Sellotape over the eject disc sensor to cure that fault. Some compressed air helps keep the dust at bay I think I’ll probably wait until the bundles start arriving to see if there’s anything I fancy. I think the PS5 game prices won’t stay at £65+ for long....I think they’ll eventually be at a premium of + £5 or £6 over the PS4 version at the discount vendors

Mandatory acceptance? Like I'm going to miss out on any racing! I've heard back about my pedals today and they said they'll send me the replacement part so hopefully it won't take too long to get to me and fix the problem then I can be even further ahead 😁

The only console I ever bought day one was the Dreamcast. At the time, that looked like a significant upgrade compared to the other consoles available. Since then, there hasn’t been that “Oh my god! I need it” feel for other consoles. I’m fine with waiting a bit. Plus, you know, global pandemic and that kinda stuff.

I agree but then I’ve never bought a console day 1. With their desire to support old consoles hampering the new, it isn’t usually until a year+ that the new consoles take over and we see the new hardware truly leveraged. Also...PC master race 😂

For the first time ever, I will not be getting a new console either day one or even within the first few months. There is no need to pay £70 to play an old gen title like Assassin's Creed Valhalla when I can get it on PC for £36. Both consoles have a very limited selection of release titles too. I'd rather wait and then pick up a better version of the consoles i.e PS5 'Slim' for instance rather than being stuck with a first gen unit all the way or having to upgrade to a new model. I had my PS4 since 2014 and it took 4 YEARS before quality games began to release. When I look back at the shite I had - Killzone Shadowfall, Infamous Second Son, Watch Dogs, FIFA 14, Remasters galore - it was just a waste of money and it wasn't until God of War did the games truly begin to shine. All the other multi-platform guff I had on PC for much cheaper. I think the PS5 looks very good and Demon Souls will be an amazing launch title but I'm not sure if it's viable yet. Let everyone pre-order and then just pick up a better unit in the future. If the cooling is as bad as it is on the PS4, I may never pick up one at all though..
