    Gaming Backlogs

What's the situation with your current backlog? Are you working through any of them during lockdown? Which games do you have that you'll likely prioritise? I've really started to work on mine for the past week. I've always wanted to play the games I own but AAA games always got in the way. Online gaming is the beginning of my backlog, as soon as I got online, it was all I wanted to do but that obviously takes time away from playing single player games. Even though nowadays I game single player most of the time, I still tend to go from playing one game for 10 minutes, to then another game and this cycle continues. So I'm trying to make an effort to play smaller indie titles, games which won't takes me weeks or months to finish, so should be less chance of me getting bored or wanted something new and as I'm sure I've missed many gems by ignoring them. Also due to the huge amount of games to play, I will only be aiming to complete the main story unless I really want to play the DLC. So recently I've managed to complete Hamilton's Great Adventure, decent puzzle game but the levels start to feel samey, contains a decent story to follow too. Fran Bow, this game is an incredible point & click game, it's got a dark theme, it's got a sad story and it's terrifying good. Next up on my list of games to complete is another point & click game called Machinarium. Not every game I will complete the story though as I might find them difficult even though I may put in many hours and This is the Police is one of them, I've had 2 attempts to get to the end now but I can't make it without dying. It's something I'll keep trying with for now though.

    Gaming Backlogs

My backlog of games is stupid, i'll defintiely not get through them all but will give it a good ol' go. I purchase the COVID-19 Humble bundle which has a fair few games i'd like to try, This Is The Police is one of them. Do you recommend it? I'm currently playing The Long Dark, only played a couple of hours so far and really into it. Although it's reached a proper grindy part which i'm not too keen on, i will continue with it though. I'm also playing Raft as there have been recent updates that added a load more stuff, will keep playing that until there's nothing more to unlock. Tbh i've been editing more than gaming.

  4. Ergonomically, I prefer the PS4 controller over the XBox version so I’m hoping that the PS5 will be backwards compatible with PS4 controllers

Basically you can use a PS4 controller on a PC. Might be a nice way to play without committing. Via the FG App

    Dark Souls

I accidentally walked into a boss fight which consisted of two dogs and the boss himself in an area the size of a bathroom. I was hit the second I walked in and lost 75% of my heath and before I could get my bearings due to the camera not readjusting, I was dead😂 Very tough game but incredibly rewarding and once you level up and improve your build, you can become very powerful and then go back to sort out all the enemies that took you out in one hit before!

  13. We can pretty much assume the PS5 is going to be whiter than Michael Jackson post-2000's then! I actually hated the DS4 controller - the touch pad was a waste of time and barely utlised as was the speaker and the controller light was a stupid gimmick that could reflect off the TV if you were playing front-on in the dark. They should release a bog-standard controller which is around the £20 mark and then keep the big-boy pad for serious gamers only to fall in-line with the modded controller market. We don't even need an over-engineered pad to play even the most complex of games these days and you could probably get away with using a PS3 pad quite comfortably. The margins are huge though in the peripheral market so things like this may be the only chance for companies like Sony to make decent money as the console units will probably cost a substantial amount to make as it is.

  14. Nothing in-doors but as you know my usual running outside is what keeps me sane. Hopefully the measures we are now under don't get tighter and they don't take away exercising outdoors. @techno I struggle with push-ups, too weak to do them. I've been trying to do them during lockdown, just 10 on a night and the last 2 pushes are hard on my arms. I'll try continue with it though and see if I can improve to do them for longer.

  15. @GazzaGarratt I normally do my press-ups in 3 sets between getting up and going to work during the week and I don't prefer any part of the day above another tbh. I did find the 100 press-ups a day for 30 days to see if it was a gimmick but I actually felt it worked for me, I went from struggling through 30 to actually hitting 50.in 1 go.

You reminded me I needed to reinstall the Remastered edition, so thanks! These games are incredibly difficult to get right. You can be wiped clean before you even know what hit you, and the bosses are such dicks unless you have really learned the patterns.

  17. @GazzaGarratt for bicycles you want to go for a hybrid. But one with a large frame. I have a Specialized Crossroads which has lasted me 10 years so far. Although I've changed all of the parts at some point or other. Cycling every day means I need to change the chain and cogset every couple of years, brake blocks can be yearly. Once in a while I get a professional to service it as I'm only an amateur and some things, like greasing ballbearings, take me too long to do. But that's a once every 5 years type job. I cycle from Hackney to Barbican/St Paul's for work but I cycle for leisure too. There's a canal in Hackney which takes you to the river Lea and there's a whole section of east london green space around that way that many people don't know about, as even in summer its fairly peaceful. There's an old overgrown waterworks and bird sanctuary, plus hackney marshes to the north, and you almost feel like you're in the countryside. I hate walking but on a bike I feel magnificent.
