  1. I was aimlessly looking into my screen for multiple nights here, thinking my life isn't in the most 'ideal' position. And then I looked at 2 things: 1) all the messages i've been recently being talking with and 2) my very first Private Message on here. Firstly, I really enjoy keeping in touch with you all, either on here or whatever way we possibly can. I think when things are difficult or different in your life its always good to keep perspective. Yeah, I'd love to give more to my family but actually i'm in a really good spot and i should be more grateful. I think lots of people don't realise how much other people, that are pretty much your mates that you game with and share the best moments of your life with, can have serious problems in their lives. From depression to critical accidents to marriage breakdowns to severe anxiety and then to life threatening scenarios, this list could go on and on. I'll never share personal conversations, thats not right to do so, but I think it's right for me to say this out loud that for these reasons alone is enough to keep me driving this place forward with the all the great people that support it so much. You see, I will always be there for you all. But it isn't just me. Forever Gaming will be here for you all. Whenever you need us. There's some wonderful people here that have some great views on life and offer amazing support, even when you think you don't need it. I can't do this without @Diddums @phil bottle @tronic44 @crispymorgan and everyone else outside of us that sort out the little adminy bits to keep it ticking over. The second and last point to make is when I was looking for @ChaosGladiator address in my PMs so I could send him a little pressie from the FGFGF, I came across @Stretch616's PM to me on October 26, 2014. It was a blog draft for our first ever Vault of Glass run. Its an amazing write up and made me realise not to feel so bad to nudge and nag (just like this post) some of you to remind you why we're here and why we're more than just a gamertag. I'll put his original post in a Spoiler below but I wanted to pick out a key message in his awesome write that I don't think ever got to a blog post in the end. It was this: However, Forever Gaming is not about the end result, it’s about the journey. I think it says it all. I'll be sharing this around with as many FGers, old and new as I can. I think Stretch's words are worth reading alone. And if you still with me by now, thank you. For that, its the reason why as of today you now see whole new sections for Guides, Tournaments, Photo Comps, Controller Hospital (Patch Notes below) and everything else that was already here. Thanks all for an amazing ride so far. I appreciate every single one of you coming back to FG, however long your absence has been. What I do hope this time though, is you just stay a little longer - you may not know or realise it, but your words and time taken out to read others words might make the key difference in their life. Don't even start me on Ali-A. I mean, with thumbnails like his, who wouldn't want to watch him? Oh yeah, 6 year olds that love a shocked face when the title reads 'Just got up and took a huge shit!' 😱 😐

    Shit Youtubers

We all have our favourite Youtubers, but do you have any you avoid? I have a few which keep popping up in my feed, the only thing they seem capable of doing is talking doom & gloom in the gaming industry and milking every last tidbit of info until there's absolutely fuck all left. Don't get me wrong, I love gossip and hearing how devs/publishers fuck up but these guys are like broken records, just going on and on and on. LegacyKillaHD is leagues above the rest, all this guy does is whinge and whine for ages. https://www.youtube.com/user/LegacyKillaHD/videos The next one isn't as bad but still fucking irritating: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC3nPaf5MeeDTHA2JN7clidg/videos There's another one who I can't think of right now, I'll post up when he inevitable pops up in my feed like a bad dose of crabs amongst all the lookers.

FALL EVERVERSE CHANGES 2h - Destiny Dev Team Hey everyone, Like we did a few weeks ago on the Livestream, we’re going to continue to talk about how Destiny will continue to evolve this Fall and beyond. This update is about how we’re changing Eververse. We’ve already made a number of changes to Eververse in Season of Opulence (we’ve redesigned the store, we’ve made Bright Engrams only include Year 1 gear—and have it bias heavily toward giving you items you haven’t unlocked in your Collections), and we’re going to make more changes to the economy, store, and armor in this fall’s patch. Armor It stinks to go to the Eververse store and see an item that looks cool and then seeing that the item has bad perks on it. In fact, when we’re setting up the armor, we’d twist ourselves up in knots to make sure the Eververse armor sets didn’t have good perks. We did this because we want the best way to get sweet perks on your armor to be by playing the game, not shopping for enhanced Hand Cannon loaders at Tess. The root cause (dating all the way back to Destiny 1) is that Eververse armor has always had perks/gameplay capability as a part of the package. We’re done with that. As of this September, allEververse armor is being converted into Universal Ornaments. These Universal Ornaments can be applied to all of the Legendary armor sets we’re releasing this Fall. They override the look of your equipped gear while preserving the perks, mods, and stats of the original item. Any Eververse Armor you have acquired in your Collections will have its Universal Ornaments automatically unlocked for use on new Legendary armor. For example, if the song in your heart is to have your Titan roll with the 2018 Tin Man-esque Festival of the Lost Helmet, you can put it on any of the new Legendary armor coming to the game this fall. Work in progress build. Evolving Bright Dust Historically, the best way to earn Bright Dust in Destiny 2 has been to buy a bunch of Bright Engrams, shard everything from the engrams, build a giant bankroll of Bright Dust and then spend it when the Warlock Dire Ahamkara helmet shows up the Bright Dust row in the last week of the season. We’re going to change this. This Fall we’re changing Bright Dust from a pay- and/or play-to-earn currency to a play-to-earn reward. We’re adding Bright Dust as a reward for completing Vanguard, Crucible, and Gambit bounties. We want all players to earn Dust for playing, not for spending money and destroying a bunch of items in their inventory. After you complete all your bounties for the week, there will be an additional avenue to keep grinding out Bright Dust. It’s also been pretty uncool to go to the Collection screen and spend Bright Dust to get shaders or Ghost Shells or whatever. We’re going to fix that too. Beginning September 17, Eververse items in your Collections will cost Glimmer and Legendary Shards. If you want to keep pulling out that Exotic Sparrow that looks like a motorcycle until you get the good Sparrow perk (Instant Summon), you can do that with Legendary Shards and Glimmer. Changes to Dismantling Eververse Items Lastly, because we are changing the cost of pulling things out of the Collections, Eververse items will no longer dismantle into Bright Dust. This Fall, Eververse items will dismantle into Legendary Shards and Glimmer. However, that means right now the absolute best thing you can do with all the Eververse items you don’t use regularly—armor, Sparrows, shaders, Ghost Shells, transmat effects—is dismantle them. Sitting on a pile of Midnight Talons or Metro Shift from your Year 1 stockpiles? Shard ’em for Dust. That’s right! Everything must go—dismantle the extra stuff you have in your inventory, build up a huge amount of Bright Dust, and spend it on sweet stuff as it rolls through the Eververse store—because on September 17, everything changes. TL;DR recap for Twitter: On September 17, 2019: All Eververse armor (new and armor you’ve already acquired!) is being converted into Universal Ornaments Universal Ornaments can be attached to any newly acquired Legendary armor Bright Dust is going to come from doing bounties, not dismantling things you spent money on Eververse items can now be pulled from your Collections with Glimmer/Legendary Shards instead of Bright Dust Before September 17, 2019: Dismantle all of your unused Eververse items to maximize your Bright Dust reserves Thanks and see you soon, Luke Smith

  11. I’m down for Monday’s raid if there’s space. I’ve never done a raid but would love to be shown the Leviathon encounters. I appreciate there’s players that doing raids all the time and won’t want a noob holding them up or back so I’d happily join a group of noobs that just want to go through a few encounters then finish it the following Monday if that’s an option for others too?? @GazzaGarratt the complexity is more to do with having to write war and peace to explain the 17,653 different combinations of things. However if you want can give me access to it, I’ll post my ftb guides in there later.

  13. That’s my point, the latest titles may not be able to run at 1080p60 but that is because the devs made the games / game engines that way. It is a choice the devs made to run at lower resolutions and or lower frames. If the devs made a game / engine with the limitation of the consoles in mind and with the aim to run at 1080p60 then the ps4 and xbone are both capable.

I think I covered most of the basics that I know of for the FTB mods. There probably are more I could add but they can start to get more complex. Though happy to re-post (of have the guides moved) in to the new section.

    Weekly Reset

For Iron Banner the quest steps are a bit of a pain at times , see the link: https://www.google.co.uk/amp/s/www.shacknews.com/article/112515/iron-banner-quest-in-the-season-of-opulence-destiny-2%3famphtml=1 I believe the quest will be season long so at least we don’t need to do it all in one go!

  17. Most PS4 and Xbox games run at lower presets with additional elements completely disabled as it is. There's only a few games which can run maxed out and those are built on highly established old and/or optimised current engines. The PS4 also uses a GPU from 2012 with just 2gb VRAM so it's not going to be able to cope with the latest titles running at 1080/60 anyway even with the presets at their lowest internal settings. Even 720/60 would be ambitious in some games.

  18. To further Robs post on buzzwords, it annoys me no end when you see people post things like the current consoles can’t even do 1080p 60fps. Of course they can but the devs decide to turn the graphic settings up to 11 so they only achieve 1080p 30fps. The only difference is on PC you can choose the graphics quality but console it is locked. So to that end I’d like to see some control over the graphics settings. I don’t expect to have the fidelity of controls like PC but when the supposed I don’t think 4k is the majority yet and they’re talking of 8k. I’d like to see even a simple graphics option of 1080p 120fps, 4k 60fps or 8k 30fps for example. I believe that Forza did this on the Xbox One X but I’d like it to see it more widespread.

  20. Which does everyone prefer? Whilst I love the scale and ambition of a lot of open world games; sometimes linear ones I just find more satisfying to play. God of War and The Last of Us are good examples of linear games done right that still offer a substantial 25-40hrs+ playthrough but don't overwhelm the player. The size of some of these modern open world games can be truly overwhelming and some don't have the gameplay backbone to truly support such a grand foundation. A good example of this is Assassin's Creed Origins and Odyssey which look amazing but the gameplay is stretched thin over a vast landscape and ultimately bloated with repetitive filler content to fill in the spaces. Some of these big games are now just too time consuming and I am beginning to prefer a more guided title which may not have the scope or complexity but offer great gameplay that doesn't exhaust or become stale that comes with transversing a huge space. I am currently playing Breath of the Wild and that is a pretty huge game that follows in the format of a lot of open world games these days and whilst it's an incredible experience; after 30 hours, I am beginning to feel the strain and this in the knowledge that I am probably not halfway through yet. I wonder how many of these hours was simply travelling rather than engaged in meaningful combat or the story. The Witcher 3 was probably the only open world game I didn't burnout over before the finale and that's because it really kept me engaged until the end. Apart from Cyberpunk 2077 and Watch Dogs Legion, I may have to think long and hard about future open world games because they are one hell of a commitment and there's a real danger that I'll become drained way before I can finish the experience. A 15-20 hour experience to last a couple of weeks is more my cup of tea now I feel.

  28. My avenue into this line of work was a strange path, I started working with animals purely for the love of them at first but quickly found out that they can also be very therapeutic to others. I also work with disabled children which makes this even better because of the sensory work. Difference textures for blind kids and simply put most of the children never get a chance to interact with any animal so I provide a secure safe environment for them to do so. I also train vet students with safe handling practises and identification of behavioural disorders. Via the FG App
