The magic of WoW and my story therein!
Spacedeck and 2 others reacted to Rumelylady for a topic
I think Healbot is still around, but I'm not totally sure it's as widely used as it once was. Vuhdo basically is the same as far as I know. It's really easy to set up the key bindings. Just open the mod menu and your spell list and you can drag and drop to the key bindings you want. I can't remember the set up I have on my priest as I haven't play it in a while, but for my Shaman I put my most frequently used spells for my base clicks, add shift for my next most used, then ctrl, then alt for whatever I have left over like rezzing. When I set up my key bindings I like to stand around for a while to get a feel for them just on my own. The set up doesn't always work comfortably when actually playing so either ask for the group to stop for a minute to adjust to just make a note to yourself to do it afterwards or during some downtime. In terms of actually healing I don't like to let people get too much below 75% health (unless I'm really bored and want to see how fast I can get them back to 100%). Most often I'll start healing people when they hit even 90%, that way if thing get a bit out of control or the tank loses threat it's less of an issue. Might be overkill, but I rarely lose anyone unless the shit really hits the fan. I like to keep Earth Shield (Shaman ability. I think there's a priest bubble that's similar) on my tank as they are usually taking the most direct damage, as well as a HoT (heal over time) if I can spare it. If the tank doesn't need it or there is someone else that's taking damage consistently I put my HoT on them for support. Don't feel obligated to heal hunter pets if you set up your healing frame to show them. I'm sure hunters appreciate when healers do heal their pets, but they should be your lowest priority and only if you have mana to spare. Also, and this is important, don't forget to heal yourself. I am so bad for that. I get tunnel vision in keeping everyone else alive that sometimes I find my heal had dropped lower than I would like. If there's not much going on and you don't need to heal anyone don't be afraid to help out the dps. A little bit of extra damage is always welcome. I really love healing. It's a fun challenge and can keep you on your toes at times. I hope you go for it and give it a go. Leveling up as a healer makes it so much faster to get in dungeons. If you have any other questions I'm happy to answer what I can. Icy-Veins is also pretty helpful, though it's directed more for characters at level cap.3 points -
Well, I must admit I'm surprised. I'm not sure I've really done anything noteworthy since joining 🤔. Thank you though, it makes me happy 😊.3 points

So, it's something I used to do as a child with my mum, never anything big. Only ever them small square kits for kids. Since I got older, I stopped doing these and haven't picked up a needle in many years. So I now have picked this back up and currently loving every moment. Not much to currently display but I'll show what I have. Now this was actually the first one I did since coming back, I sort of liked the look of the design but it was also my Grandma's favourite animal (she liked white ones). So after she passed last year, I sort of did this in memory of her. Now this next one I have literally just finished yesterday (10th). My favourite childhood film ever, daughter growing up to love the films also. This probably took me around 3 months to complete. Next up will be an Alliance / Horde banner from World of Warcraft, need to order my supplies soon.2 points

Oh hai fellow stitcher! Look at that. WoW healers and stitchers! I love your Lion King stitch. I have no idea if pattern didn't have it or whatnot, but I love it without back stitching. It looks so much softer and more gentle. Also, because of your adorable Squirtle needleminder may show you the Sprite Stitch forums as well as Lord Libian's Epic Pokemon cross stitches (though I have no doubt you have seen them elsewhere on the internets)2 points -

Gambit Mode
Misneach_ and one other reacted to GazzaGarratt for a topic
So @crispymorgan, @Misneach_, @Stretch616 and myself had a number of games last night and here's some of the takeaway from it. Sleeper We had a great little debate online as to whether or not it breaks Gambit. I'm on the fence on this as its early doors and we haven't learned it all. I can definitely agree however something needs tweaking as it can be a game decider more often than not due to the damage output on the boss and OHK on the other team. Nerfing it is out of the question. It is an exotic, it should feel OP. Either other guns get buffed or/and do something to highlight a sleeper is on the playing field. They have strong evidence buffing other stuff to keep up is the right way to go. Equally many others have found ways to win without it. Banking and Mote Collection @Stretch616 decided to focus solely on killing ads. Then simple comms between us 3 to leave specific motes on the ground worked well. The onus is on the mote collector saying "need one more". Then others can call out they've left some. Invading Sticking to one main invader and a deputy works really well. Defined roles that takes seconds before a match just calms down your play. I was main invader but then when i was low on heavy ammo and no super I'd call out to @crispymorgan to take his super over to the other side. Also, timing when to use the portal should only really be used when the opposition are holding motes that haven't been banked. Going in straight after a blocker also helps as you know they are distracted. Teamwork Stick to the task at hand and don't be overthrown by emotion. We won some games comfortably but once we had a a better team it can throw your judgement. We had a few calls of "sod it, I'm going over to get that guy". That's when things can start to fall apart. Not always but alot of the time it does because your team structure is all over the place then. Primeval Focus on ads first. They will protect and slow down DPS on Primeval. Stack supers and heavy for this stage. Its a race against and can become hectic! If an invader comes in, unless you are just about to kill it, all of you should have a quick check for the Invader. Its essential so you minimise deaths. Ultimately its a great gamemode that will be thoroughly rewarding when you win and at times frustrsting to lose games that flip the other way so late in the game. More to learn I'm sure and hope this helps some of you.2 points -

D2 Y2 Armour Perks
Plumbers Crack and one other reacted to Baabcat for a topic
So the return of Armour perks in Forsaken was one of the things I was looking forward to the most. Armour in year 1 was shallow, with only three variations Mobile / Resistance and Recovery. The addition of random perks pretty much means all year 1 armour is outclassed already. Also I think Exotic armour is going to get random perk rolls as well (in addition to the exotic perk) so all that stuff is now beaten by its equivalent in Y2 Looking at what I have dropped so far there's a pretty good pattern of what will drop for each different type of gear. All armour still comes with a bias toward mobility, resilience, recovery (column 1), a choice of two ways to tweak that bias (column 2) and then in column 3 and 4 choices of two or three perks to get the best load out you can. What drops in these columns is not totally random so I thought I'd set out what to look out for Helmets: Column 3 seems to drop two types of perk - targeting perk for specific weapons, or perks that give additional super energy depending on how you get kills - super from shotguns for example. For me teaming up this column with a weapon type to give extra super energy is a no brainer Column 4 is all about ammo, generally for type of weapon. Perks give either extra ammo (reserves) or more ammo drops by type of ammo (finder).. If you can link the extra ammo (reserve or finder) to the gun you are using, and getting extra super energy for from column 3, that's a top move! I've actually got a helmet that gives me super from shotgun and increases my chance of finding special ammo, that's good Arms: Column 3 has perks relating to reload of certain weapons, or perks that impact grenades or melee. Generally I'd go for perks that help with reload but make sure I'm using that weapon Column 4 seems to just have Scavenger perks to help pick up more ammo for certain types of weapon. Combine that with the helmet ammo perks. Chest: Column 3 is all about reducing flinch if ADSing with a specific weapon, choice of 2, good for snipers and scouts Column 4 looks largely to be about how much ammo you can carry for a weapon type (Reserves) Legs: Column 3 is either improved weapon handling (by weapon type), sprint boosts, or class ability boosts., helping with grenade or melee energy Column4 is all about ammo again, Scavenger(more ammo picked up ) and Finder perks (more frequent drops) Class item: Column 3 is all about extra boots from picking up orbs, be it extra grenade energy or health boosts. As a squishy hunter health from orbs is a great perk, as is orbs start health recovery Column 4 is again about ammo, Scavenger or extra reserves One of the great grinds in Destiny is getting this lot to work together, combined with your favourite weapons and sub class so all the perks feed into the perfect set up. A lot of it is about ammo - this is a substitute for heavy ammo packs. Chip in with any other perk types you see and any perfect rolls you get2 points -

Didn't catch it either but I heard we didn't play too badly. You have to keep at the new tactics that we play and struggle through rather than forget it all and really go back to what we were like. Its Spain at the end of the day AND the result should've been 2-2 if it wasn't for the useless Goal Line Referee. Trust the process [emoji6]2 points -
Running / Cycling

That’s a pretty comment issue for most people who aren’t runners. They don’t understand how important it is to be focused when you run. They just put on the shoes, turn on some music, and start running down the street without a game plan. My wife has always said the same thing. Last year she found some running app that supposedly takes you from the couch to a 5k in 30 days. She did it for 2-3 weeks and talked up all the progress she made. “I ran for 10 minutes straight this time!” Stuff like that. This was all in prep for a 5k we did thanksgiving last year. Well she got bored and stopped doing it, then 2 weeks later was the race. She had never run for more than 10 minutes straight in her life. I had been telling her all along that the app was stupid and none of that really matters but whatever, no reason to argue about it as she was just trying her way to get in shape for the race. She’s had a goal for many years to run a 5k and I told her it would be a cake walk if she just followed my directions. Basically gave her the same advice I’m giving here. I ran alongside her and made sure she was laser focused on her breaths and stride patterns and she totally crushed it. We finished in around 35 minutes which is pretty darn good for someone who had never ran longer than 10 minutes straight. We averaged right around 10 minute miles. long story but the point is that running can be “simple” if you have a plan and try your best to stay focused. Also remember that your body can handle 100x more pain than you think it can. I literally told my wife before the race - “you’ll get no sympathy from me and I won’t let you be a pussy and quit”. She zoned in and crushed it. You can too it’s just a matter of understanding and finding that rhythm that allows you to push yourself.2 points -

[The below is many years old so take with a pinch of salt] I used Healbot because it was piss easy to use, upon entering a raid / dungeon it'd create a grid / roster with all the party members which gave me a nice oversight of what's what. I then had all my heals on various mouse buttons with modifiers, so left click = flash heal, right click = penance, shift + left click = greater heal, ctrl + right click = bubble, etc. It's all very easily configurable and made healing a doozy, if it's still being updated, give it a go. Many preferred multiple addons like Grid and whatnot but I found Healbot to be perfectly fine and I heal ICC25 with it.1 point

@McNasty I tried that breathing method while out today and man it felt very good. I'm still not sure on which method suits me yet but I much prefer just counting, I find trying to breath on steps just makes me lose my breath. I ended up breathing in for 3 seconds and then taking little inhales and longer exhales for 4 seconds, then repeating this for awhile. I did find that slow exhaling for 4 seconds a struggle, more like it was taking my breath away. On the decline home, I was able to keep to 3 seconds breathing in and 3 second slow breath out. https://www.strava.com/activities/1834299584 What's your guys Strava? The speed that the other team took down the primevil was astounding. Like maybe 5 or 10 seconds. There were certainly lots of sleepers being used. If we all had sleepers, then invasion would have been pointless. As it was we had our primevil early doors but they kept disrupting. Still a lot of learning to do regarding super choice and use of. Another point I forgot to mention - you need multiple patterns for any run because it’s not all flat. If you’re on a treadmill you can rep it out the same way the whole time, but that doesn’t work with inclines/declines. I keep an eye on my heart rate while I’m running. I have a runners watch that shows overall time/mile pace/ elevation change/ and heart rate but you don’t need to get that fancy about it. Just have a pattern for hills (for me it’s 2 stride inhale, 2 stride exhale) and once it flattens out and I can lower my heart rate I’ll go back to 3 in/outs or 4 in/outs1 point

GazzaGarratt reacted to McNasty for a topic
As long as you're finishing your runs I wouldn't be bothered about slowing down if you're sort of just getting into running as a habit. It takes a long time to condition yourself to be able to improve your speed. The key is to make it a habit and not burn yourself out. Once it becomes a habit, or something you feel you HAVE to do at least every other day, then getting faster is going to happen on its own. It just becomes easier because your body is used to it, and those 10 minute miles start to feel like walks. You'll naturally push yourself faster because you're going to want to feel like you're getting something out of it. Breathing really is the key - I think you'll be surprised how much it will help to find a pattern that works with your stride and just zone in on it. It's like meditation and if it's all you focus on you won't notice pain. Everything becomes about your breaths. Another thing to think about (there are a bunch of different opinions out there on this but I mix it up) is breathing in through your nose and out your mouth. Most of the time I'll breath in through both my nose and mouth, and then out the mouth. Sometimes in/out of the nose. It's also something you need to figure out as part of your pattern but it needs to be repeated. So maybe for 5 minutes you do it one way, then switch it up, but always a pattern. If you're just breathing all over the place you'll never really settle into your run where you can just "go"1 point -

Denmark were forced to field a starting 11 which included a salesman, a student and an internet star for Wednesday's 3-0 friendly defeat in Slovakia. The national team is involved in a commercial rights dispute with the Danish Football Association (DBU). Players from Denmark's top two divisions and those based overseas were unavailable and will probably not play in the Nations League against Wales. Danish futsal players also featured in the makeshift starting 11. Christian Offenberg, who led the attack for Denmark on Wednesday, is a part-time salesman who also plays for Danish third-tier side Avarta. Right-back Simon Vollesen, who plays in the Danish fifth tier, is also a student, while Rasmus Johansson - a midfielder who plays in Denmark's third tier - is best known as an internet freestyle footballer, with tens of thousands of followers on Instagram and YouTube. Slovakia's line-up boasted former Liverpool defender Martin Skrtel and Napoli playmaker Marek Hamsik. Two goals in the first half from Adam Nemec and Albert Rusnak gave the hosts a commanding lead before an own goal from Danish futsal player Adam Fogt, on as a substitute, made it 3-0. Denmark managed only one shot on target during the 90 minutes and had 27% possession. Professional futsal goalkeeper Christoffer Haagh did manage to save seven of the 10 shots he faced. Denmark's next fixture is in the new Nations League on Sunday against Wales in Aarhus - and if the dispute is not sorted out, then the emergency stand-ins are likely to find themselves up against Gareth Bale and Aaron Ramsey. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/454291161 point -

Advanced Dungeons and Dragons
GazzaGarratt reacted to phil bottle for a topic
I managed to miss another D&D session but I'm lucky Sam the GM enjoys writing a synopsis for those that couldn't make it. So Andy and Phil and update for you both. After a long rest at the drow encampment during which time Tom stole the dark elf mage’s shoes, and Andy found a magical panther statuette, the guys investigated the area discovering a cavern that led down to the underdark, to a Drow household. The guys decided wandering around in the underdark was probably not a good idea but Tom, being the klepto he is swiped 3 of the phosphorous mushrooms growing nearby. The team ventured out of the drow encampment following the coastline to the port town of Mason. When they arrived it was nighttime and the guards were under orders to not allow anyone in (except if bribed). Tom managed to convince the guard the dark mage shoes were magical. He was pleased and allowed passage into Arnoch. The team, having been travelling for 2 days went to the local tavern to get a room and food. The tavern, The One Horse Open Sleigh run by Helga, was busy everyone ordered food and drink. Tom spotted some sailors playing dice in the corner and joined in. Turns out they were loaded dice. Tom managed to swipe them and sneak off. The team had a discussion with a locale who they overheard talking about the St Anne being hijacked by pirates and taken to Ship Wreck Cove. Meanwhile Paul spotted a rich looking merchant in the corner eating. Patrick used his magic to create a small disturbance knocking the merchant’s drink over. Paul fluffed the pickpocketing and the merchant wasn’t too happy, threatening Paul with a butter knife. Paul swiped it causing the merchant to draw his sword. He struck Paul. Happy he’d drawn blood he offered a truce. Paul wasn’t having any of this and decided to throw a severed drow head at the guy (they cut the head off the mage). He missed and the head rolled into the corner. Tom tried to diffuse the situation by staggering into them ‘drunk’ then throwing himself onto the table. The table collapsed and the man’s food was sent flying. Paul hit the merchant. Two town’s guardsmen approached to break up the fight. Patrick, being a priestly cleric, managed to convince them the fight was started by the merchant who was dragged off. Helga, not too pleased with the mess and destruction demanded payment for the damages. Paul gave 2 gold pieces. Helga was happy and offered to let them break another table. Everyone retired to the room (only Patrick sleeps as you’re all elves). In the morning after breakfast, the team decided to visit the marketplace. Tom, wanting to flog his phosphorous mushrooms went to the alchemist. The Korean gnome greeted them. After haggling the gnome was only interested in buying them if Tom brought him 500 by tomorrow. Tom wasn’t happy and pushed over a display on his way out. They went to the nearby blacksmiths, Paul bought some throwing daggers. Tom tried to dazzle and amaze the smith into a good deal by producing a magical glowing mushroom. The only problem, the mushrooms only glow slightly and it was broad daylight next to a roaring fire. The dwarven smith was not impressed. The team then got an Uber carriage to South Ridge (where the cave was). It took 2 days (they got back roughly a week after they left to investigate the drow encampment). As they approached they could smell burning and arrived to find the whole town burnt to the ground with fires still raging. Everyone was dead. Tom, distraught about Florin’s death, stole his shoes. They noticed a huge trail leading out of the mines, as though something big had been dragged out of the mines. They followed to find the cave stripped of all the crystals and the silvery liquid gone. Leaving only a big well like hole. From behind them approached a high elf called Azreal. He claimed to be the guardian of he cave. He’d been there for 200 years protecting it from discovery; however roughly a week ago he’d had to leave for supplies only to come back to a defiled cave. He warned that great evil had been unleashed and wasn’t convinced when the team demanded he help them as he ‘failed in his job’. He disappeared into the shadows. The guys followed the trail from the cave back out. Tom then decided to break into the remnants of the keep (which was still burning). He ran in looking for stuff to loot and fell through the weakened floor. He landed in a room where some money was stored a bit injured. He grabbed 33 gold pieces and a ruby before he place started to collapse around him. He took more damage. They left the town to follow the trail that was leading to Arnoch (the main citadel). They didn’t get far before a group of 10 knights from the citadel rode up to investigate the distraction. Initially they thought the team were the cause until they were shown the drow head and told about Hayder’s mission for them. The knights agreed to escort them back to Arnoch, but first they needed to rest. Everyone started a long rest when they were interrupted by a roaming band of 10 orc worg riders and a chieftain. Combat ensued. One knight was killed by a surprise arrow to the neck. The guys put up a good fight, with support from the knights killing all the orcs. Another Knight fell in combat and the pitiful orc chieftain, barely put up a fight being killed pretty quickly.1 point -

This is a pretty interesting service. I've used Access for some time (now lapsed for the time being). The idea of having all games available is great, especially if you are like me and will play new EA games for a month or two before jumping ship and occasionally hopping back 😋. Although after playing some more hardcore FPS games like Rising Storm 2, going back to BF felt a little too friendly. When this releases I'll have a good think about it again. Pretty interested in Anthem and the new BF. ETA: didn't realise this had already become available to buy 😮.1 point -

One level is negligible to be honest. You get better at a lot of things simply by doing them and you level up soft skills gradually. Level 1 v Level 40 is always doable (because a head-shot is always a head-shot at the end of the day) but the lvl 40 player will be faster, stronger, have more stamina etc What makes a difference between early levels and being overpowered, is your relationship with the traders. Starting gear is decent but basic. Traders have 4 levels and you can't reach trader level 2 (with all the extra better gear) until you are at least a level 15 character. Traders also give you tasks for more exp. Better trader level = better weapons, attachments, medicines etc1 point
