I've had a bash at this today and my opinion changed wildly. There's no tutorial of any description and the menu system is confusing to say the least. When you get in game there's no further explanation of what you have to do other than to defend the mining drill. The Metal Gear part of the title is the only part of the game that is metal gear bar the Fox engine and the standard sound effects However......... I persevered for a 5 or 6 games and then I started to get to grips with it all. There's purposely a lack of ammo in the game so you have to think about when is the right time to use precious ammo and when you go all hack and slash of their ass! The crafting becomes interesting and then makes sense and then you can really think about what the best way to defend the base is, picking from a vast array of different options. Teamwork is not optional in this. You will die or struggle if you run solo or ignore your team mates. For me, its been quite enjoyable so far but not sure its a full price purchase. Will give it a bit more play and see how the few levels we have add to the melting pot

It's worth noting that the Beta only gives us access to the side game of the full release and not the proper games itself. How much it would differ is anyone's guess but certainly worth remembering before anybody writes this off

I’m a little late to this though Bart and I have spoken about it in the past. I am happy to go with whatever and the consensus is for a reset so my vote, for what its worth, is a reset too. I’m not too fussed about loosing items, a couple hours mining would have the important stuff back. As for my build, I like it but there’s a number of things I’d change, I just didn’t want to tear down half my build to do it so fresh start ftw. Starter houses tend to me quite small so maybe plan out spawn with some plot on to limit build size and we can build our starter houses together to make a small village / town. There’s no reason why people couldn’t then build bigger out in the world but it would potentially give us a nice spawn area. As for what we do in terms or mods etc. for the reset. I still don’t understand a lot of the mods, what goes together, what doesn’t or what the server could cope with. However, for the record, I am happy to go with the same mods, more mods, less mods or even no mods.

Based on a couple of games, if it that's mode mainly then i'd say its reasonable to start charging £25 from new to start. I wouldn't say it's more than that but it would be good to find what extra info is around for any type of support it will have post live?

Honestly, at this point in time it seems that Treyarch are the only studio that can make a decent COD. IW haven't made a good COD since MW2 and Infinite Warfare (excluding the campaign) is hands down the worst COD I have played. Although I enjoyed AW it seems that the community didn't and a lot of people dislike WW2 as well. Plus the helped make the MW3 MP which, whilst being OK, wasn't as good as previous MW games. For me, Treyarch haven't made a bad COD yet. I never played WaW but all 3 Black Ops games have been absolutely fantastic and the most fun I've had in COD MP. So Activision should fuck off all the teams apart from Treyarch. Get them releasing a game every 2-3 years and get them constantly updating their current game until the new one is out.
