  1. Being born in 1993 I didn’t have too much time with video games in the 90’s. That being said, I did have a game boy and a Dreamcast. So I would have to say Pokemon Red/Blue for me, with a shoutout to SoulCalibur too!

  2. So many great games, it's impossible to choose but here's a few mentions: Super Mario World - SNES Goldeneye - N64 GTA 2 - PC Age of Empires - PC Medal of Honour - PlayStation

  4. Looking back we were in a state of transition, moving away from 16 bit graphics to experience our first forray into 3d. A lot of the 3d models were blockish and certainly would not hold up well today, heck it's not often you see someone make a 90s style game but people do keep going back to our 16 bit era. So, are there any games you remember fondly? For me it'ss the obvious final fantasy games, but in addition to that I always remember fighting force. Spending a lot of time on streets of rage when I was younger I suppose this was the sort of game that evolved from them, walking around 3d levels beating the crap out of people. So, are there any that you remember fondly?

Back to this topic again as we seem to be getting inundated lately 🙈🤪 Obviously goes without saying, take care not to click on any links from randoms until we get around to deleting them. And thanks all for reporting when you find them 🖤👊

  6. The original crash bandicoot was one of the games that basically cemented me being a future gamer. Was also revolutionary for its time, came out in 1996

  7. Very tough choice because the 90's made some huge strides in very little time and the industry kept evolving and innovating massively - imagine going from Doom to Half Life in just 5 years! The gulf between a 2019 game compared to a 2024 one now is almost nothing. Metal Gear Solid is a very strong shout because it told an incredible story and had some unforgettable gameplay moments. There's also Half Life as mentioned, Resident Evil 2, FF7, Super Mario 64, GoldenEye, Age of Empires 2 and many more. I'd probably give it to MGS overall as it pushed the PS1 to the max and also exposed Nintendo's mistake in using cartridges as even some of the sound files were bigger than an entire N64 game! Games going from 2D to 3D was big in those days and Mario 64 was also a significant leap. I really miss huge innovations like that these days.

  8. The 90's you say? Metal Gear Solid. It was just so good back then.

Hear hear @phil bottle. I do add some protection from keywords to try and stop as many as we can not even posting but it is inevitable we'll keep getting them over time. Like Philly the Great says, keeping reporting them. Note, you can use a button instead of replyign to report content if needed. That sends an email straight away to all Moderators and Admins that a post has been picked up by someone that looks suspicious. Thanks all GGFG ❤️🖤

  12. I was born in 1990, that's no excuse! 😛 A lot of my gaming was gameboy / megadrive to be fair. The gameboy was the first one my parents bought me but I got the mega drive quite young as I was given it by my cousin, he was much older and I think at the age where gaming got left behind a little while he went off chasing girls and such I suspect.

  16. I've played 2 hours of the game, it's a bit janky but I'm really liking it. I chose the LRI faction, which can never be changed, and this means if you have friends who choose one of the other factions (there's 3 in total) you can't play with them as they are effectively your enemy. A dipshit team-killed me tonight which was a bit stupid as you can see all your faction players location on the map. I hunted the prick down and had my revenge : ) Game needs some work but they seem to be pretty responsive as we can shoot from helicopters now, so hope they continue to listen to feedback 🤗 I bought the game for 29.99 and if they carry on making it better I'll support them by picking up one of the supporter upgrades...will see anyway...

  20. Just looking at my retro collection the last few days, it's quite brilliant when you consider how old some of it is and how well it has lasted. But it got me thinking, will modern consoles last as well? Will we even be able to play half the games in 20-30 years time when they have turned off servers and you can't get the day 1 patch to make a game playable? Are we just going to have a load of doorstops in a few years time?

  21. Sony are already removing paid products and shutting content servers down plus you also have the likes of Ubisoft even revoking licences and making games totally inaccessible so all in all, several games in the last decade have become unplayable. Some titles even require day one downloads to function because the disc is incomplete and about as useful as a paperweight. If a game has a single player component and can play out of the box then it's fine but there will be many titles that will become wholly unplayable. Thankfully most of the modern shite isn't even worth treasuring which is why 99% of my games are digital now and I couldn't care less. Don't think I'll have the urge to visit The Crew 2 in 15 years time. I think after the PS3/XB360 era when physical media died and live service took over, that's when I stopped giving a toss. It's also the time the industry changed for the worse.

  25. I played and beat Tunic on Xbox Game Pass, fun little game but a bit too hard for me so I had to tone the difficulty right down 🤣 I don’t care for Destiny and I already have EA Sports FC. Really excited about GhostRunner 2 but I still haven’t got around to playing the first one that was on PS Plus a while ago, maybe I push these up the backlog!

  26. There's mooted to be a new map about to drop soon, among order stuff happening at a forthcoming DayZ event. A winter map in Norway possibly but really no-one knows yet. Plus all owners of DayZ who never bought the previous dlc map, Livonia, are being given it for free.

  28. So we managed to get on this last night, Lee, Tom and once we managed to install the games (the auto downloads did not work for various reasons). Anyway I had a lot of fun with this, it's a very different pace compared to Helldivers, COD etc. I managed to kill Lee with a bomb thinking friendly fire was off, we almost burnt down the ship multiple times, I watched Tom raise the anchor while the ship was in flames all next to him, we also locked Tom in the brig only for him to die and come back as a skeleton (just on my screen apparently). Oh and if your crew mates are drunk definately don't fall off the ship! It runs really smooth and the gameplay is quite simple in all honesty but it was kind of refreshing to play after some of the recent multiplayer games we have been into. There was no pressure to do anything and I think at the end of the session we were just sailing about aimlessly, playing music and just visiting random islands and such. I am quite looking forward to diving back in and unlocking more quests and such.

    Grey Zone Warfare

Only 44% positive so far but I'm guessing lots of people are leaving a negative review after 0.3 hours after experiencing performance issues or bitching that the game isn't finished🤣 Arma Reforger seems to have come a long way of late and the population is picking up so I may check that out in time.

    Grey Zone Warfare

I've played about an hour or so. It's definitely still in an early access state. I was getting 60+ frames but there's a bit of stuttering and occasional lag and that needs to be sorted. A few server issues getting into the game but didn't crash on me at all. Arma Reforger is in a much better state and right now I'd tell folk to go for that first but I'm happy with this game, hope it gets supported and they sort out their servers.

It's 30 quid, you can buy supporter packs that give you more equipment and space etc but I'm fine for the time being. If I enjoy the game and feel like supporting the devs I'll look at that down the line.

  32. Now that the draft is in the books we can start looking forward to the next NFL season and another year of FG NFL Fantasy Football !!! Can anyone topple 2 time champion @jordie1892, or will he make it back to back to back titles? There have been some big quarterback moves in the last couple of months that could make for an interesting season. If you would like to take part in the next season just reply to this thread. For previous entrants please confirm if you would like to take part again this year, the more we get doing this the better it will be 🙂 @G_dub52 @Ally @GazzaGarratt @Lurchzy @jordie1892 @Findmartin @Plumbers Crack @techno @Baabcat @Laidback Lankyman @Luseth
