Genuinely hard to call so far. If Chelsea or Newcastle get a run going you never know. Spurs look strong so I do wonder who can get consistency after the International break. Realistically its between the arse, the bin dippers and man shitty, I can't see anyone else being consistent enough. J4MES OX4D 10,461
Liverpool look awful this season - 3 defeats in a row now but they have actually been fortunate to win any matches. Late goals and last minute winners have saved them but their frailties are costing them dearly now. Even Man City are catching them. GazzaGarratt 11,306
Well, its international break again and good time to take stock. Prem wise not sure how Sunderland have managed it, but they keep on flying high. Home form is so crucial and its a very intimidating place to go. So many teams having a stutter. Man City a small resurgence, Liverpool free falling. For once it does keep it very interesting week to week for sure. Can't see Wolves or Burnley staying up currently. Not enough in their teams for me. I'm loving watching Moyes take Everton up the table though. Decent team, some good English talent in them. I hope they make Europe. Championship...ahh, well i'm trying hard not to think about it. Blackburn are in a sorry state, on and off the pitch. I don't know how the next few years will go tbh. I was probably hoping we could somehow be forgotten and sneak up the table. You never know as its far too early. Frank Lampard's Coventry City (IYKYK 😉) have been excellent upfront. Unless they start to bottle it, they should be now clear favourites...although their defence really haven't been tested and are pretty poor back there. I fancy Middlesborough still. Losing a Manager and still winning, thats tremendous value for money. A very good squad too. I think everyone else maybe in false positions. Lots of teams aren't performing well but have gathered points. I still wouldn't have put Sheff Utd, Southampton and a few other big names down the bottom though. Maybe Sheff Weds could pull off the unthinkable and stay up? As for the Prem, I did not foresee LFC having some major issues, it's definitely been a more interesting league the last couple of years. Just waiting for the Arse to bottle it again 🤭 Please. England are playing against Serbia right now. In theory playing for a place in this summer's World Cup, however England already qualified, so no stress. The World Cup will be taking place in a few American cities so you'll have lots of games in your time zone to enjoy 🏆 GazzaGarratt 1 Link to comment https://forevergaming.co.uk/forum/forums/topic/52-football-played-with-feet/page/176/#findComment-162478 Share on other sites

If it wasn't for all those last minute goals at the start of the season, they'd be sitting in 19th right now. Slot has to go as nothing is working. Pretty amusing situation as the consensus at the start of the season was that they'd with everything with all the signings they made yet they are lucky not to be in the relegation zone🤣 Link to comment https://forevergaming.co.uk/forum/forums/topic/52-football-played-with-feet/page/176/#findComment-162590 Share on other sites

MrBiron 1,516
I think that Leeds will be going straight back down. The recruitment team utterly failed in the summer and just didn't get in the players we needed. We've been crying out for a decent striker for years but we never get one. Farke is out of his depth in the PL as well. I was all for giving him a chance after he got us promoted but I think that he needs to go. He's incapable of changing things up when he needs to and always picks basically the same team. Add to that the fact that he won't make changes at half time when it's blatantly obvious that we need to make changes. I guess the only issue is who would we get to replace him? 🤔 J4MES OX4D 1 Link to comment https://forevergaming.co.uk/forum/forums/topic/52-football-played-with-feet/page/176/#findComment-162594 Share on other sites

I think you could call it "generous". If we get promoted again, I think we would get wrecked most games and be straight back down again. My preferred result would be narrowly miss playoffs, strengthen the squad and finish strongly for two more seasons before possible promotion. Actually I would be happy with top 8 finishes every season playing entertaining football. Premier League is the dream but can be a nightmare as well J4MES OX4D 1 Thanks to Capn_Underpants for the artwork Link to comment https://forevergaming.co.uk/forum/forums/topic/52-football-played-with-feet/page/176/#findComment-162595 Share on other sites

Premier League is the dream but can be a nightmare as well The gulf between the Championship and Premier League is ridiculous and it's getting wider all the time. I think Ipswich have a good squad but I don't think any team in the league this year would be good enough for the Premier League, not even Coventry. Ipswich last night created some decent chances and looked dangerous but just lacked anything clinical in the final third - partly down to our keeper having a great game and perhaps being burned out after Hull away on the Tuesday and some crazy away fixtures in succession. I can definitely see you lot challenging for promotion and securing a playoff place but the days teams can do a Bournemouth or Brentford and maintain a Prem place are long gone. Add to that the fact that newly promoted teams can only spend a limited amount due to PSR whereas the bigger teams can just go and spend £600m plus. Declan Rice going to Arsenal cost nearly as much as our entire summer spendings. Newly promoted teams just can't compete. Seems that Sunderland may be the exception to the rule. Fair play to them if they do stay up.
