  1. Episode 6 of Dice to Pixels is LIVE on Youtube and spotify! This week, we talk about GTA5 RP, RP in gaming and some simulator games! Check it out and please subscribe if you haven't already. We really appreciate the support!
  2. Remember trying to figure out which direction you had to go in certain castles in the original super mario bros? No guides, no internet, all trial and error. Same with figuring out which weapons worked on what bosses in Mega Man? Unless you used Metal Blades, then fuck it. Lol!
  3. Man, this is a hard choice. I have way too many to choose from. Pizza is definetly up there, as I do love me a good pizza pie. There's a shawarma place in town that is 100% the best in the city. I'm always a sucker for some cheeseburgers, fast food or a dedicated place like The Works here in town. They do some crazy stuffed burgers that are amazing. Sub sandwiches are a staple in the house as well. Specialty poutines at a local place here are really good too, and we can't forget wings and chicken sandwiches. Fuck it, I'm not choosing... I love them all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  4. Finished up the old west scenario this morning. That was a fun chapter. You begin play as an "outlaw" being confronted by a bounty hunter. After evading, you come upon a small town that you eventually have to help defend against a group of outlaws terrorizing the area. You spend the fair majority of the chapter finding resources to use for traps before the final encounter to help reduce the number of enemies in said battle. That was a fun one to be sure. Onto to the Present Day chapter.
  5. Finished the Ancient Japan chapter the other day, and I'm moving on to the old west.
  6. I'm gonna start a death metal band now that I've got a name for it. Maybe a fusion band? Metal-Country? hmm...
  7. I am 100% getting this one today. Both @Rumelylady and myself have been anticipating this one for some time. A rouge-like with some town building sim in it where you're building a cult to the demon that resurrected you. It's got a very cute graphic style that really makes the theme and purpose of the game so witty. If you've played it or plan to, leave your thoughts and impressions here.
  8. Can you imagine if they had that shit back during the NES/Sega glory days? "Did you enjoy the Chrono Trigger? Want to play a New Game+ where you have all the experience, weapons, armor, items etc. for a new game??? Then head over to your local game store and by the password to unlock it in game for $49.99!!!" 🤬
  9. I'm currently reading through the latest DnD book Journey to the Radiant Citadel, and also The Tibetan Book of the Dead, Martyr by Anthony Ryan and Will Save The Galaxy For Cash by Yahtzee Crowshaw.
  10. Happy Birthday @Stretch616 @Deep_diving_in_Lake_Hyrule !! 🤘
  11. I’m currently playing the Japan chapter. Very sneaky.
  12. Episode 5 of Dice to Pixels is LIVE on Youtube and Spotify/RSS feeds. We discuss Stray, the latest PS4/5, PC release, as well as World of Warcraft and other little gems. Check it out and please like, subscribe, and tell 3 friends so they can tell their friends. 😉 🤘
  13. I'm so fucking jealous...... YOU HAVE AN FG MUG!!!!!!!!!! 🤪
  14. 4/MW1 was my favourite and last CoD game I ever played.
  15. Here's one that would also be a good little FG Friday game. It's pretty much a King of The Monsters, next-gen/3D. Just released this week. It does have a story mode in it so I imagine it would involve playing as each of the fighters/monsters during it. Looks very cool though. I can see this one being a PS Plus game at some point.
  16. This one just released this week. It looks really good and it's giving me a FF7 remake kind of vibe with the combat system just from the video alone. Also not a full priced game. I may have to check this one out at some point. Some reviews I've seen have been positive.
  17. Yet another remake of a classic title from back in the day. This one is releasing in November on pretty much everything. If you liked FF: Tactics, or Vandal HEarts, This will be your jam. Tactics Ogre: Reborn Announced, Releasing This November WWW.GAMEINFORMER.COM Which path will you choose?
  18. Just completed the Imperial China chapter. Really good story. An old kung fu Master seeking disciples to carry on his art, travelling to various villages to find some, and subsequently training them, though you should only focus on training one. I really enjoyed this one. It probably had one of the best final boss sequence I've played in an RPG of this style.
  19. My inner child says NES/SNES, but my inner teenager say PS1. Adult me says, "Fuck it" I like them all. 😂
  20. The smash bros clone with BATMAN!!!! I've read that it has some pretty shitty monetization in so far as unlocks go but I could see a bunch of us playing on FG Fridays.
  21. I pretty much agree with everything in that article. The one big thing is complete games. It was always a big deal when someone came up or heard of a "cheese" or "easy way" to beat a boss or pass a level and have it still be there to use if needed. The pause trick in Mega Man 1. After shooting your electric shot, rapidly pause the game when it first hits an enemy/boss and the damage will tick every time you unpause the game. It made some boss encounters in that one a breeze. Challenge I'm iffy on. Some games back then were flat out cheap as oppose to hard. I look at games like the Souls series, Elden Ring, Sifu and all of those have learning curves that once learned, make the game more manageable. Some retro games had the same formula, but due to the tech at the time, still ended up being really heap with respawning enemies if you move off screen then come back. Ninja Gaiden... Castlevania... I've actually been on a retro style fix lately. Live A Live, Odin Sphere, TMNT, Mega Man, and some retro style current games like The Messenger. There's just something about that style of graphics that tickles my sweet-spot in just the right way.
  22. I just finished it tonight. There was one really broken item I got from a unique boss fight called cola bottle. It's an accessory that you can use infinitely as an item that does guaranteed 999 damage to anything you attack it with. Broken as hell. The pre-history chapter was really fun. It closed up nicely. I was a little shocked at the length to. I managed to finish it at around 7 hours. On to Imperial China where an old martial arts master is seeking a protege to carry on his fighting style. The voice acting is really well done too, as well as the ancient Chinese themed music. Good ole 16 bit soundtracks are just fucking awesome
  23. A bit late it's a long weekend herein Canada) but here is the latest episode of Dice to Pixels. We talk about the new campaign book Journey to The Radiant Citadel for DnD 5E as well as our preferences for playing said game. Also available on RSS and Spotify.
  24. I never seen this one for sale in my part of Canada, but I remember reading some articles in various magazines about it. It was one of those instances when trying to compete with the Gameboy was damn near impossible. The only other handheld console I ever wanted at the time was the Neo Geo Pocket Color. Sadly, I never seen that one either...
  25. ok, I'm a fair bit into the pre-history section so here's a few of my thoughts so far... I'm really digging the combat in this. It takes the ATB (Active Time Battle) system and adds the strategic element of a grid based system. As battle begins, you can move one square in any direction you wish. As you move a space, all time bars (which is called a Charge Gauge) for both player characters and enemies slowly fills. If you haven't made it to an enemy in time to act, there's a very good chance they will before you can. It really adds a but of forethought into movement. Some skills have a specific area they will affect. The one skill my character has currently, as an example, is a jump attack that requires you to position yourself further away from the enemy in order to hit. Others encompass a huge amount of the battle ground that can hit multiple enemies, but be warned. Some skills leave an area of effect on the ground that can damage your other characters if they are currently occupying those areas. As far as I can tell, there doesn't seem to be any random encounters thus far. The main character in the pre-history section can "sniff" the air to "catch the scent" of creatures or items scattered around the area. These seem to be limited but you can refresh the area by going in and out of other locations. So far, so good.
