  1. Right there with you buddy lol. I saw the keys in the picture first and knew immediately. Thats a pretty sick present, definitely would put them in a display This was the first Christmas in who knows how many years that I didn't go anywhere, and that was awesome. We usually spend the days around Christmas running around visiting family so I was actually really looking forward to this Christmas. The wine was flowing early. Aside from some gift cards from family I usually only get a present from my parents. Me and the wife stopped giving each other presents a long time ago. Usually I get something house or camper related from my folks but this year I really couldn't think of anything I didn't already have so I didn't give them any ideas. They decided to get me an Oculus Quest 2 VR set which is something I'd never even thought about honestly. It's amazing how far these things have come compared to the last time I tried one of these about 5+ years ago. I haven't played any games yet but I did watch about 3 seasons of Turn on Netflix lol. Its like being in a legit movie theater with a massive screen. Also jumped out of a few airplanes with a wingsuit on flying down mountains, rode some roller coasters, Blue Angels ride alongs, etc. The Oasis cannot come soon enough! And TIL about Lynx Africa gifts being a thing lol.
  2. Hopefully with a new actress. I don't know what it was about her but it seemed really amateurish the way she delivered her lines. She sounded like a little teenager with no emotion, or overly fake emotion. When I first heard her speak her first line I literally did a cringe face. It didn't match what I was expecting at all. After that the whole interaction just felt empty and fake to me. I loved that episode but that was a pretty bad casting I think. I'll take any star wars spinoff I can get but man I hope they find someone else. On another note, when the jedi showed up at the end and I was like hell yeah, it's going to be Rey! Then Luke appeared and I was like wait, WTF? TIL this series doesn't take place after recent sequels lol. Overall it got much better as it went. I'm still bent about how much the Mandalorian sucks at fighting and still gets his ass kicked at least once or twice every episode, almost dying every time and getting saved by the skin of his teeth. Why can Boba Fett show up and go full jedi on those storm troopers like a badass and all we get to see is Mando getting shot in the armor a bagillion times. Everyone else is a badass fighter in this series except Mando and I can't get past it lol.
  3. I've been a big star wars fan since the beginning, and I'm enjoying this series but to be honest it's getting overly redundant and I'm frustrated that they haven't progressed the main story line at all. Every episode is the same thing - goes to a new place, someone needs some help so they go fight some big boss battle, they win and then fly to another planet. Oh, and this "mandalorian" who everyone is scared of because they're such amazing warriors gets bailed out seemingly every episode by someone else. He almost dies, someone else comes in to save him. Every single episode is like this. I just want there to be more of a point to what I'm watching. He's been "delivering" baby yoda almost the entire series and he's no closer to that goal than he was in the 2nd episode and we don't really know anything more beyond that. I think I might be one episode behind as I haven't checked this weekend, but that's how its been for me so far
  4. With you on that! Strangely enough, I was never much of a cook before we bought our trailer but I found that cooking was probably my favorite part about camping. So I started trying to make some pretty fancy stuff and surprisingly they almost always turned out incredible. Now I plan out one or two unique dinners every trip to have something new and fun to look forward to, and I always crush the breakfast omlettes/biscuits/gravy/potatoes every morning. Love the mornings when it's cold and restarting the fire then cranking up the grill. At some point this week I'm going to buy a 22" blackstone griddle which is going to be my go-to both at home and at the campsite. I certainly like smoked food but only once in a while for me. I'm strange I guess - I can absolutely crush some barbecue and get strong cravings for it, but once I've had a meal it takes me a few weeks before I get any cravings again. So blackstone it is for me which is going to take my game to a whole new level. If you guys want to talk about Outdoor Grilling - you have to check out this guys youtube channel. I've copied so many of these meals it's not even funny. The guy is a hoot too Kent Rollins
  5. We (me and 3 brothers) were a Nintendo house growing up. NES, SNES, 64 were our first systems and that took me from elementary through high school. We got a PlayStation 2 at some point in high school and played that a good bit as well, but my formative gaming years were all Nintendo. The art on these magazines is definitely legit, but nostalgia is the real driver for me.
  6. I thought up an interesting idea a few weeks ago to buy a bunch of old Nintendo Power magazines and put them in display cases to mount on a wall in my game room. First magazine came in today and I’m pumped! Certainly not in mint condition but surprisingly it’s in fantastic shape. Goldeneye magazine should be here on Monday. Still trying to figure out which other ones I want. Obviously Mario 64, Mario Kart, Donkey Kong. Probably Mortal Kombat, Star Fox, Tony Hawk......so many to choose from. I’ll update once the final collection is complete and mounted.
  7. That’s strange man it’s still active and I’m right in the middle of leisure suit Larry 4, and just started Indiana Jones Atlantis. As long as it works I’ll keep coming back. I’m not a torrent guy or whatever the hell that stuff is......just randomly came across this site that hosts a web based emulator (I think that’s what it’s called), and I’ve played through probably 30-40 games. Monkey island series, kings quests, whatever. I don’t really give a shit about the legality I already bought all those games I’m just revisiting them because my PC doesn’t have a slot for floppy disks lol
  8. I think I’ve told you about this site before.....but they’re also free to play, with saves, on playclassic.com. I forgot all about Heretic and Hexen. Remember Blake Stone lol? The amount of old PC games that you can play on that website is pretty insane.
  9. That’s what baffled me the most when we looked around for our camper. They are all so similar and without having any experience with RVs I didn’t even know how to look for the differences. Since then I have spent ungodly amounts of time learning and researching because I want to know everything about everything when it comes to these things. I also grew up camping in tents and then my parents bought a pop-up and we packed in 6 people for years and years. When I went to the dealership to buy one, I really thought I could make due with something small. Stepped into the first one that was maybe 20ft or so, and nope’d out in 5 seconds. Ended up with a 37 footer and then found out later that 37 ft for a TT is crazy long. I didn’t even factor length into the decision, I just liked the space and the price worked so that’s what I bought. Its nuts how much I know now versus when I bought it. Youtube is awesome for learning about stuff.
  10. @GazzaGarratt My oldest has been itching for one but we have a Wii U at home that gets a ton of use and there aren’t any switch exclusive games that would make me want to get that system. We’re waiting for the next system to come out. Keeping the SNES mini in the trailer sort of forces them to explore a lot of the older games because it’s the only thing we let them play. Camping is for doing outside stuff but at night or when it’s raining, it’s been a lot of fun watching them explore those older games. Link to the Past, SF2, Super Mario World, Contra, Super Metroid, Earthbound, and F-Zero are the games we play the most. @BO7H B4RRELS you should definitely get one and keep it in the trailer. Gives the kids one extra thing to look forward to when we camp.
  11. @BO7H B4RRELS Haha I forgot that I made this thread I was really hammered lol. Thats cool to hear that you’re in the RV world Tommy. This is a Pioneer DS320 that we bought a little over a year ago and its my first trailer and it has worked out really well for us. TBH I had no idea what I was doing when I bought it which is pretty unusual for me. My buddy had just bought a MPG Ultralite a few months earlier and we hung out with them at their campsite to tailgate for the G-Day game (where UGAs first string plays against second string). Its a big event down here. Anyway after spending the day with them hanging out my wife was sold and convinced me that we needed to get one. I didn’t even own a truck and had zero towing experience so I was really nervous about the whole thing. Went to a dealership near us and bought this a week later, then spent about a month trying to find a truck. Its been fucking awesome though probably the best family decision we’ve ever made. We camp at least once or twice a month. I’m fortunate to have in-laws with a 50 acre farm near us where we keep it setup with power so whenever we want we can drive over and camp for a few days. Its been a life saver with this Covid stuff when all the state parks were shut down. Georgia has a ton of awesome state parks with well maintained campgrounds so that’s where we normally go. Here’s a pic of where we keep it at the in-laws, it’s pretty sweet
  12. Thought you guys might get a kick out of this. I keep a SNES mini in our trailer for stuff to do when camping when it’s raining. The kids recently found SF2 Turbo and they are completely obsessed now. Brings back a lot of good memories for me. My oldest made me look up all the moves for the players. My youngest picks fucking Dhalsim every time and does the long kick shit over and over and over. I can’t beat him without resorting to sho-ryu-kens from deep lol. Technology advanced too far where games like this just don’t appeal anymore, but man those early SF and Mortal Kombat days were something else. I remember sleepover parties with my soccer teammates and we’d stay up all night working on fatalities lol.
  13. Yeah can't complain too much. It's like Groundhog day over here and I've gotten pretty tired of it so I bit the bullet and joined the golf club in my neighborhood a couple weeks ago. Guy that lives across the street is a member and he has his own golf cart, so we go play and get nice and hammered and then drive the course to get back home so no worries on the 5-0. Getting the kiddos into it as well and played a few rounds with them. We also finally got our travel trailer hooked up with 30 amp power at the in-laws farm back in March so we've been spending a lot of time camping out there which has been a life saver with this COVID isolation stuff. They have 50 acres out in the country and our camper is in the back portion of their land so we have about 10 acres completely to ourselves. Beyond that, riots and shit are happening everywhere over here right now and it's not looking good tbh. As if we didn't have enough BS to deal with due to COVID.
  14. I just completed this quiz. My Score 53/100 My Time 140 seconds
  15. If you enjoy fantasy books - read the Mistborn Trilogy. Im almost done reading it through a second time which I’ve never done before with any book(s). Everything about the trilogy is perfection. also The Name of the Wind by Patrick Rothfuss is the first book in a trilogy and it is insanely good. 3rd book not out yet...
  16. Too little too late for me. They had their chance to dominate the market for years but they are a pathetic excuse of a development team. I have like 400 wins in this game and once I moved to Blackout, I cant stomach 5 minutes of PUBG anymore. I dealt with a full year of getting crashed out sometimes 4 or 5 times in a single game. Its just sad really. Game had so much going for it but in my opinion, this was the biggest blown opportunity in the history of gaming. Never going back its permanently deleted
  17. With this styling the vette it might actually have a chance overcoming its stigma as the go-to sports car for: 1. Recently divorced mid life crisis fueled white dudes 2. Old geezers who miss that feeling of youth and excitement so they go buy a vette and drive it around like it's got a lawnmower engine under the hood 3. Assholes. You know the kind where you can just look at the guy and know he's an asshole right away. Nobody cool drives a vette.
  18. Portable air compressor and a ceramic space heater. We bought a travel trailer this year and there is always cool stuff to buy for it. My favorite present was this shirt I asked my wife to make for me
  19. The Expanse is so damn good and it gets better and better every episode and every season. I tell everyone about it. I found it a while back after hearing some astrophysicist on a Joe Rogan podcast and he was drooling over this show. Definitely in my top 5 all time. Some of my others: 24 Band of Brothers Heroes Lost Vikings Family Guy

    VAR

Theyre going to start doing this with balls and strikes in Major League baseball within the next few years. The umpires behind the plate will have an ear piece that tells them the call. Already being tested in minor leagues. They’ll still be there to call pitches that bounce and after the hit plays, but the computer is taking over. Its a boring slow ass sport anyway though and you cant slow down a snail that much Soccer on the other hand needs to keep the pace. There are no timeouts, and stopping play left and right messes with any game momentum too much. Id agree with everyone on limited use. 1 per team, and maybe a guy in a booth who can over-rule blatant misses by the ref

  22. I'll walk through what I do as it's not very complicated, but gives you a full range of things to do that keep you going to the gym multiple times a week while also giving muscle groups the appropriate time to heal and recover. With weights, the most important thing to do is focus on certain muscle groups that don't overlap on the same day. The next session, focus on entirely different muscle groups. Don't try and do a full workout of all muscle groups in the same day. It takes too long, you'll burn yourself out, and most importantly you won't give enough attention to each muscle group individually because many of the exercises overlap in the muscle groups they use. Just as an example, if you do lots of push-ups and then try to do tricep work like lat pulls or whatever, you won't get anywhere because your triceps are already burnt out because of the pushups. I'm not an expert by any stretch and just to keep things simple, on one day I'll do chest and triceps, and the next session I'll do back and biceps. That separates muscle groups out well for me and if I lift every other day I get plenty of rest. I'll only do 20-30 minutes of weights and then do cardio for 30 minutes and call it a day. I don't do any leg weights because I get all of that from the cardio work. To find the right weights to use, start off with a weight where you can do multiple (3 to 5) comfortable sets of 10-12 reps. First set should be easy, and go up 5 lbs at a time until you can get maybe 6-8 reps on your final set where the last few reps are tough to finish. Go easy for the first 2-3 weeks and when those last sets become too easy - start increasing your first set weight by 5lbs and keep the same cycle. Eventually you'll find something that works but you need lots of reps, and you need a good starting weight. Once you get a lot stronger you can lower the reps and up the weight, but just keep it simple. The main thing is to focus on certain muscle groups at a time, give yourself 2 good days to recover, and then get back to those muscle groups again. My best advice is to only do 20-30 minutes of weights when you're starting out for the first few weeks, and do some cardio each time you go. That mixes things up to keep it fun and cardio is really good for overall health and fitness. Also take L-Arginine immediately after your workout. Can't stress that enough. Starting out you'll be sore as shit, and L-Arginine is the best thing you can take to prevent soreness. It's crazy how well it works. Being sore and working out sucks.
