Xenia Canary *cough cough🤣 I have all 3 on the 360 and the Ultimate Edition on Windows but it runs like absolute ass. If they are available on Game Pass, I'd recommend giving them a shot although only the first can be played on PC along with 4 and 5.

That's just corporate waffle. The leak surrounds them potentially doing a u-turn on the planned Year 2 MW2 DLC and instead releasing it as MW3. That's a huge difference if so.

Sledgehammer created 20 original maps in 14 months of development with 10% of the staff IW had at the time. IW created several decent original maps and other real-world ones for MW2 that were met with legalities but soared in detail so they are perfectly capable but something is clearly butchered with the post-launch support. It's possible that most of the team have been moved onto the next project and all that's left is a skeleton crew of asset designers. Black Ops 3 already had an open SDK of this and custom maps have been a thing since COD 4. People have even created custom zombie maps and even full campaigns. I've probably played on about 70 custom maps through Plutonium and other clients using a mix of the old Q3 engine up to the ID tech used in BO3 and some of the originality and imagination that goes into these maps is amazing and that's because it's made by passionate long-term fans. Some have even built high-end asset libraries for more complex and detailed environments. Sadly this material will never make it into the core and it would be seen as the developer's passing the buck, but it's entirely possible to concoct quality maps from scratch without having to recycle anything. A new mainstream open tool would be beneficial for the more ambitious creators but I don't think it would integrate well in the game itself. Even Halo Infinite Forge has really struggled and that's supposed to offer a decade of material.

I don't mind withheld content as long as we receive 100% of the base game to start with. MW2 is probably 40% complete on launch and by the time 12 months is up, then maybe we'll get 100% of a game - something 10 years ago we would get on day one. As the year wore on, we'd then get another 50% of a game to enjoy through paid content. Vanguard last year released with more content than any other COD game and that should be the expectation for every release going forward - MW2 launched with 66% LESS 6v6 content than Vanguard which is insane. There needs to be a minimum entry threshold and something like 16 original maps with then 4 new ones per season guaranteed. The only maps they are probably holding back right now is ones they can pluck from the Warzone 2 one and I think they are winging it in every other respect. I also don't buy into the logic that because they are supporting other MP playlists within, that means content quantity should be spread - I don't want to lose the prospect of 3 6v6 maps in return for an extra Ground War map for example. There's no reason why we can't have 16 6v6 maps, 6 Ground War and then 2 Battle Royal ones right out the gate and why they can't produce 3 new maps and a GW map on top. There are more developers than ever working on these titles backed by insane budgets compared to what the franchise had a decade ago so having less content and it being spread more thinly just doesn't suffice for me and it's absolutely killing the game right now so much so, it's going to be very hard to bring people back. The post-launch support just isn't up to par - season delays, unclear roadmap and a lack of content and this is on top of a sparse launch. The likes of Epic already have Fortnite's 2024 roadmap completed yet Activision now seem to be toying with whether to launch COD 2023 as DLC or a brand new game. This is just no way to run a franchise or live service and what's tragic is this is actually a good game underneath - it's just let down by an awful seemingly non-existent forwarding strategy which should not be expected by such a longstanding and experienced series.

Big leak from Tom Henderson which suggests COD 2023 will now be a full premium game release and possibly MW3 made by Sledeghammer who are already the confirmed developer. This would make sense - rather than having a DLC for MW2 which may be dead in the water by then, they reinvigorate interest by rebranding it and just making it the final game of the trilogy. Will definitely need to have more meat to it that just being an expansion with a new name if this proves to be the case but SHG are very capable of delivering original content of a decent quantity. Activision definitely winging it proven right Major CoD 2023 leak reveals expected release date & beta details WWW.CHARLIEINTEL.COM CoD 2023 details have surfaced after a leaker revealed the expected release date for what could be Modern...

Since when is Ground War 6v6?😂I only care about the paid component of the game developed solely by IW - the ONLY part of the game they produced. I bought the game in good faith because it comes from experienced devs of a franchise I regularly play and had a promising foundation as outlined. Sadly me and millions of other gamers have been badly let down and as a consumer, I have the express right to complain. What I criticise is perfectly valid issues and nothing that established franchise partners haven’t already complained about either. You have literally Activision’s own content creators telling them their game is a bag of shite. it’s nothing compared to what is being said on Twitter so don’t get so deeply offended by it. Oh and sorry, I didn’t realise just because people supposedly didn’t play (nonsense) Vanguard on here, I cannot praise it and Sledgehammer for their efforts? What sort of fucked up logic is that. No need to get jealous over praise of another game jeez. Also as you don’t play the paid MP portion, what right do you then have to lambaste anyone who does play it of their concerns? Bit weird gatekeeping part of a game you don’t even play. Stick to playing bots on freebie DMZ made by another developer. That bears no relation to the MP. Oh and because I also don’t like Forspoken, I am apparently ‘one of the most toxic individuals’😂 you may want to head your head out of your arse from the COD section and look elsewhere on this site. Really not sure why you’re so protective of this game - it’s almost like nauseating 2009 fanboyism all over again. No thanks to that.

I'd take 4-6 maps per season or none at all. One or two lazy recycled maps is simply not enough whatsoever for a game of this nature and I just wont play it otherwise. The COD community should not accept this level of service - it's beyond insulting now and bordering on laughable. Even Vanguard last year had 3x more map content than what we have now and they probably had 10% of the resources to make their game. People are largely sick of recycled/re-imagined content now - maybe 5 years ago this was still fine and even into MW2019 but not now. We're all mostly fed up of these once-iconic maps like Nuketown, Summit, Jungle, Firing Range and original content is what's needed. No point in having a brand new engine and rebooting a game and then rehashing old stuff. If they are to go down this route then at least back it up with new content on top. If you're giving us 2 old maps but 4 new ones then that's fair enough but 3 old maps out of 4 is embarrassing. IW proved they could create new content and the base game maps of MW2 are pretty decent even though they were naive about a few real world locations but having to resort to recycled stuff or material lifted from Warzone is not good enough especially if you're giving us nothing else.
-
No maps listed aka; 'we're making it up as we go along'😂 They'll probably bring back Rust once again to compliment Shoothouse and Shipment or something desperate. I'll keep my eyes on the usual dataminer suspects because they are usually ahead of the game as what to expect and most of the time it's never good news.
-
She certainly is 'rowling' in it though - making a fat royalty for every copy sold without having to do a thing!

I'd happily pay for a map expansion like before because it was guaranteed content, you knew what you'd be getting plus it was an obligation and incentive for the developers to produce quality and original (even reimagined) material. I'd take that over painfully waiting for new content that never materialises and always being in the dark about what was coming because not even the developers seem to know half the time. People are paying more on fortnightly bundles now than what an entire quarterly map pack used to cost and I didn't mind paying because the return was always tens of hours at worst and plenty more enjoyment. This time of the year a decade ago and during the golden age of COD, we'd be at around the 24 map mark by now. Even Vangard this time last year had 26 original 6v6 maps at this stage.

Nearly 500,000 people are playing Hogwarts Legacy on Steam before it's truly out | PC Gamer WWW.PCGAMER.COM Despite the backlash against it, Hogwarts Legacy is already a major hit on Steam and Twitch. Just on Steam alone!

I've just realised (only saw the small image on my phone) that Al Malik and Zaya are both battle maps which mean they will be likely be ground war-type ones. Literally just cut off a a portion of the Warzone/DMZ map. This means that Dome and Museum are the only two 6v6 maps - one recycled and poached off Warzone 2 and the other one from the beta. The rumours they would pass off the removed Valderas map as 'new' season 2 content were spot on even though it had been legally cleared since the beginning of the year to bring back. It's even worse than I first saw! Content creators jokingly said they will probably carve up the entire Warzone map bit by bit and integrate it as 'new' content for the MP portion and it looks like that has come true entirely.
-
LMAO! That’s the final nail in the coffin for this game. They really expect to pass off an old beta map and then 3 cherrypicked locations from the battle royal map as ‘new’ content that will suffice, Christ. The new mode bloat will just spread thin an already depleting playerbase and those playlists won’t survive long-term either. They’ve made a mockery out of fans now but at least the reaction on social media has been absolutely damning, not that it will change anything. I wasn’t expecting much for the paid portion but this is taking the piss. Even Cold War will get more content than this I bet. What an absolute disgrace.

J4MES OX4D replied to Spacedeck's topic in General Gaming Discussion
Just completed Gears of War after revisiting it for the first time in 16 or so years. Now started on the 2008 sequel. Hoping to get in Metal Gear Rising in a couple of weeks for its 10th year anniversary and somehow gotta find time to squeeze in Hogwarts Legacy if I pick it up this month! -

Great news for the shareholders but that means nothing to the gamers. We hear it every year - ''X game has broken X records and exceeded expectations blah blah and continues to be enjoyed daily by X amount of players blah blah blah with a total of 358728953247592758 bullets being fired waffle waffle waffle we made more than last quarter blady blady blah'' Also of course there is an increase this quarter just gone - the last two were at the tail end of Vanguard on its last legs and when Warzone was fizzling out. The release quarter is always going to bring a huge spike and even corporates surely can work that basic trend out. The fact they've stopped releasing the concurrent active users per game is the most telling part. There probably is considerable panic behind the scenes with MW2 and its ongoing reception but the only way they are going to assure gamers of its true sustainability is by providing content and a clear forwarding roadmap. They can reassure the money men every 3 months that things are going well and will get even better but it's us gamers that deserve to know where the game stands. If games were measured on quarterly success then Diablo Immortal would've been the 3rd best game of 2022.

Remaster releasing next week I never got the original from Sierra because I was mostly playing Age of Empires 2 and Civilization 3 back then but this looks really decent. Anyone have this classic back in the day?

I love how the site is now being used so people can track which streamer is playing the game so they can go watch, follow and even sub to them. Love it when a plan backfires🤣 It's quite a sensational turn of events really - an extremist feminist now being targeted by other extremists wanting to be what she is but is currently who she despises. I do think a lot of it is taken out of proportion especially when you have further clowns like Emma Watson and Daniel Radcliffe worsening the tensions online but the trans community really don't help themselves with their approach consisting of positioning themselves as the victim but also making outlandish threats. Really not the way to endear to others especially when they wont listen to others and are too busy trying to 'cancel' people who don't share their way of thinking. What goes around comes around for poor old JK!
