  1. I hope they finally add some meaning to the combat and escape from the usual; 'move forwards to activate checkpoint to stop enemies respawning' formula. The combat feels so bland and there are far too many scripted elements which many modern games are guilty of. Also hope it's more than just the 4-6 hours of the same old stuff.
  2. I'm really looking forward to the Advanced Warfare campaign - it looks like they've really pushed the boat out for a spectacular story, locations and characters. I haven't really enjoyed a COD campaign since MW2 in all honesty - the last few have been pretty forgettable and typically more linear and generic than ever. The Black Ops 2 campaign was intriguing with the new gadgetry and essentially a Create a Class system where you could choose you're weapons, even from the past such as the Galil and AK47 but the missions, particuarly the Strike Force ones fell flat and became annoying. Ghosts was something new in terms of narrative but essentially the same old one-dimensional styling. The characters and locations were pretty lame although there were a couple of stand-out missions that looked and played pretty good. Apart from Ghosts; I have done all the campaigns first and I definitely want to experience AW this way. I am not one of those that wants to reach Prestige 10 by December and think that rank means anything because it doesn't in COD. I can't wait to see the multiplayer in action but I think the campaign is shaping up really well and shouldn't be overlooked. I absolutely loved COD 4 and MW2's for their memorable missions on stunning backdrops such as Cherbobyl and the Russian airport. It's so tempting to jump into the multiplayer from the off but I enjoyed COD back in the day when I gradually saw the entire product unfold and not overlooking features or flitting between the modes here, there and everywhere. Campaign first for me, definitely!
  3. Man Utd v Real Madrid got 109,318 fans in Michigan which isn't bad considering it's only soccer and a poxy pre-season friendly
  4. I thought he was joking about Mark Rubin not tweeting since November but it's true He only shows his face now when he's trying to sell you something Almost a big of a ballend than that bloody Robert Bowling bloke who did a runner once Activsion got their money for MW3 and to hell with the community.
  5. Man Utd beat Real Madrid 3-1 in Michigan in front of 109,318 fans
  6. This is the price structure for the Playstation Now service beta and I am stunned at how ridiculous it is! $4.99 for just a 4 hour rental of Deus Ex Human Revolution or $30 bucks for a 90 day rental period? Bloody scandalous! I paid $3.24 for the Directors Cut on Steam and you can get it for a few dollars on eBay second hand. No option to buy and retain titles in full either. MGS 4 is $3.99 for four hours and that will barely get you past the intro I'm sorry but this is really disappointing. I was expecting to get my hands on the likes of Gran Turismo, Metal Gear Solid, Crash Bandicoot, Resident Evil 2 and others for just a few quid to keep permanently and not some stupid expensive rental scheme with a fixed time period. To think they slagged off EA Access for being too expensive also. Sorry Sony but this is a right royal fuck up. http://uk.ign.com/wikis/playstation-4/List_of_PlayStation_Now_Games
  7. Really enjoying TLOU so far! The AI and stealth mechanics suck but the story is gripping and the cinematics are gorgeous. Looks absolutely slick on the PS4 with nice lighting, effects and general atmosphere.
  8. I think history has a big part to play with soccer worldwide. In countries where it thrives; it has a lavish past where it's become established and inspired people from a young age. The passion in families for local teams and the general publicity it receives engrosses people. In the UK and Europe; there isn't a sport in second place that is remotely close in terms of popularity and with a dedicated fanbase interest. Rugby is probably the next one on the list but 9/10 soccer fans could not care less about it apart from the major international matches where there is a heightened interest. The US has many major sports with Football, Basketball, Ice Hockey and Baseball all having a distinct history behind them and Soccer cannot seem to develop interest to that tune because it hasn't had a long lifespan behind it and lots of memories. Also competing with 4 major sports with a proven level of fans is always a tough ask. I think Soccer in the US is what Rugby is to people in the UK. A sport that has it's own fans but will not turn heads as there is one that a person has a more dedicated level of interest in. I don't mind Rugby and I like the big international competitions but I'd never follow it as soccer is my preferred sport and it's what I grew up playing and watching. It's part of my history and that's where Soccer in the US will struggle as people cannot relate to it overnight and in some ways; it's kinda being commercially weaved in to an already packed sector.
  9. 4.7 BULLION? That's a golden typo
  10. Yeah, I nearly choked on my Pepperami last night when I saw that headline It kinda makes makes sense as the MLS doesn't start their new campaign for another 8 months or so.
  11. Looks like Vermaelen will definitely be leaving Arsenal with Man Utd the favourites. Very strange transfer and all the chat that has come with it last two months. It's like Man City signing the likes of Anton Ferdinand or Real Madrid buying Michael Dawson. It's just weird
  12. Assuming Microsoft hasn't craftily nabbed all the streaming links for Live owners only; I assume you'll be able to watch it live online through IGN, Twitch and the other main sites. Will probably be uploaded to YouTube soon after the unveiling too and then the Ali-A and Tmartn; the free advertising puppets under the thumb of Activison will probably publish their breakdowns in more detail.
  13. The postman has delivered! Love the smell of a new game when you open it
  14. York City FC of League 2 are still better
  15. System Shock II £1.19 for the next 7 hours
  16. Even more of Ashley Cole
  17. Well Usain Bolt labelled the competition and Glasgow 'a bit shit' allegedly and I think he runs tomorrow and many spectators are supposedly going to turn their back on the race. Should be interesting indeed
  18. Oxford Utd have a Danny Rose but he's a white chap. Equally shit too. Would love to swap I was at the Arsenal game when he came on the scene with that epic goal but he's done sod all but go backwards and become less popular since. Been on loan a few times but is really only a player to fill the team sheet IMO. Spurs can do much better.
  19. Titearse Bumhole as we call him
  20. I forgot COD Ghosts existed. http://mp1st.com/2014/07/31/call-duty-ghosts-nemesis-dlc-first-trailer-launches-august-5/#.U9p-VPldV8E
  21. Haha that's fucking brilliant!
  22. Auto fail I hope for the love of god doesn't get implemented but Bungie seem fixated on 6 players, no more, no less at all times for Raids. If you're even playing in a party of 6 in a Raid started at 6pm let's say and it's going on 9.30pm and it still hasn't ended but you or one of your team needs to get the dinner in the oven, put the kids to bed, phone goes off, an emergency, pick up the wife from work etc..you all end up losing over 3 hours of effort because of natural life occurrences. With no matchmaking; you can't get someone to hop in if such a thing materialises for the final hour+ and by the sounds of it; you can't even invite someone to join mid-game just to cover the person(s) who have unfortunately had to drop out because of certain circumstances. Also if you're playing with a buddy from the other side of the world and someone loses connection; game over too? Firefights on Halo were fine as you could play 1-4 players at any time and players could join via matchmaking but leave of their own accord if they had to opt out and could be replaced by someone else through invite, join or common matchmaking. With Raids being fixed at six and in Bungie's words; an essential and conditional number to play the mode; it seems the flexibility isn't there and they have made a catastrophic error of judgement on players habits, health and availability. Even with Raids planned out to the precise second; you always have to prepare for the unexpected in life and may have to remove yourself from the game but I hope that everyone else doesn't have to suffer hours of lost gameplay because of Bungie's strict and ignorant approach. Raids seem overly ambitious but Bungie haven't considered a host of factors that could impact the experience.
  23. Can't wait for this tomorrow! I'm going for the Platinum trophy
