I'm not a fan of Fortnite but its development is far more smoother and impressive than compared to PUBG. It being free, ideal for a variety of people and not too serious, makes it very popular and welcoming game. PUBG on the other hand has had its day - it'll still be successful going forward and be popular, but greed, lousy development and numerous issues really sour the overall experience. Both games have been incredibly successful but on the face of it they are nothing special - just a popular mode (that's been around for 5+ years) that is becoming more saturated by the minute. Neither game has much scope, variety or depth and if it wasn't for the virtual marketplace on PUBG or the Fortnite cosmetics; not many people would care. PUBG was brilliant in the first year but ironically when they 'finished' it; that's when it started going downhill whereas Fortnite goes from strength to strength as the more YouTuber's ram it down people's throats; the more it will continue to thrive until the limited Battle Royale concept fizzles out and people move on to the next big craze whatever that is. I don't think BR will be as prominent as survival was but it's certainly had a bigger and faster impact on the industry. Not sure if either game is deserving of its overall success but they have both proven to be the right games at the right time even if they aren't anything all that defining.

I saw this the other day and thought; it's bascially Dying Light Battle Royale with 94 players missing. It being a standalone and costing money smells of a disappointing cash grab attempt. Dying Light was incredible but I can't see this doing too well especially in the long run. C'mon Techland; you can do better than this.

Played a bit more today and the vehicles are great entertainment I must admit. Had some great fun in the plane and also discovered the flame thrower also. Almost echoes of Far Cry 3 at times but without the story to back it up. There's been a few highly entertaining missions I've come across also but there's still quite a lot that are bland and repetitive. Hopefully the game maintains this level of enjoyment and I'll be able to get through it without getting tired with it.

I've managed to get in a few hours today and it's exactly what I was expecting; good fun with a disappointing story and generic, repetitive filler missions. It feels like it's 5% story and 95% side missions in an open world sandbox with the gameplay plastered all over it rather than having a story carefully crafted within the world where secondary missions play second fiddle. Far Cry 3 balanced this well and was perfectly paced. I remember Ubisoft saying a few years ago they wanted to move away from story-based games and focus more on online worlds - so why the fuck do they keep making games like this? The story could have been intriguing if they actually bothered expanding it and gave characters some meaning - the nameless character you play doesn't even talk for fuck sake and everyone else is largely forgettable. I will definitely get plenty of hours out of it and I wasn't expecting much in all honesty but this is such a step back from the likes of Far Cry 3. If you're not a fan of the series or didn't enjoy the likes of 4 and Primal; you will not enjoy this one. This game looks and feels like a last gen game too. Looking forward to the editor though.

I didn't spend £1400 on a new PC just to play a game that I run on my iPhone when I'm on the toilet

I shall be playing this tomorrow. Reviews seem fairly positive so far but there isn't much of a story sadly. As long as the game is pure fun though, that's all that matters for me and I'm really looking forward to the editor. Wasn't expecting much from this package but it looks like it could be very enjoyable despite not being anything drastically revolutionary.

Yeah, I was still happy with my 770 and probably would've got another 18 months out of it had the PC not broke. I actually didn't think there would be any affordable builds available with the GPU price scaling but luckily there was still some good prices that weren't deliberately bumped up.

It's black and has lights on it My old PC packed itself in where only a complete reformat and re-installation of everything would fix it and I couldn't be arsed with that shit so I decided to get another one instead. Not only are they the best in the world by far anyway, why do something so cheap that you couldn't even get away with it in the 90's when TV cameras weren't so advanced!? This may mean sod all in most countries but Cricket in Australia is like royalty and there's already been a national day of mourning. Stupid sport anyway. Rounders is better.

If the rumours are to be believed, I think they'll release the campaign first for £20/$25 and next year when the game is finished, they'll offer an 10 year anniversary MP upgrade for another £20/$25 on top. I can't see the most iconic MP game of all time having its main portion neglected. COD is getting trampled on from all angles right now where even mobile games are more popular so they've probably brought the release forward by 18 months in a bit to stay relevant and also get paid off twice in the long run. Even with upkeep costs, they money they can make on supply drops easily outweighs any costs and their spare dedicated server structure can host remastered matches to fill slots of people not playing games that run on the same infrastructure. I think most of MW:R's matches were played on disused Advanced Warfare listen servers. Should be very interesting to see what happens though and everyone is pretty much in the dark and dumbfounded!

How is the final game so far? I've heard there is barely anything to do and ACG's review was pretty damning but that was pushed out fairly fast. This is a game I'm still interested in but longevity is worrying me a bit so far.

I bought the standard edition but this is one package where I may very well get the season pass soon after launch as the game looks like it's packing some serious worthwhile content on the side from the main game.

This is so ludicrous I honestly believe it will happen as not even the biggest bullshitters in the industry could make this level of shit up.

Looks decent for a F2P game with solid mechanics and a vintage COD feel. Might be worth a try sometime

I see a load of 'MW2 Remastered releasing next month!' rumours are doing the rounds out of nowhere and at first I happily dismissed them as total BS but things like this don't circulate without some foundation and it seems the possibility of it happening is growing although this is still incredibly unrealistic. Either this is just pure nonsense where even the seasoned COD cakesockers have fallen for it or it could be a very sensible time to release the game out of nowhere. Why it could happen:- - WW2 isn't pretty dead right now plus Condrey and Schofield have left Sledgehammer. With only premade content and pre-planned events left and the population woefully small; there isn't much going for the franchise until BO4. - COD suffers greatly over the spring/summer after peaking at release and is usually in decline come spring. A surprise release could cause global carnage and bring people back. - Fornite is dominating mainstream gaming and the COD target audience where even the Activision sausage riders are playing and streaming that rather than COD. - Classic COD's like Black Ops 1 have been hugely popular in recent months, getting over 100,000 daily. If people are playing those and not the current COD... Why it probably wont happen:- - Supposedly the game releases in 5 weeks and we've heard nothing official from a marketing-dominated franchise and publisher. - MW2 10th year anniversary is next year along with the new IW's next game. It would be fitting to have it then unless Activision are in panic mode and IW's next game is lining up to be decent for a change. - The development timescale doesn't fit unless the intended release was Spring 2018 all along from when the game was first commissioned. There's a year and a half difference between now and the expected 2019 release. I personally can't see it happening and I think this rumour may have been pounced on people for easy clickbait because there are no consequences of pushing fake news like this on YouTube. I wouldn't mind a fresh COD game this time of the year though even if it is a remaster but after the terrible original MWR; I'd be worried that this absolute classic would be forever tarnished by Raven and Supply Drops.
