  1. I can't be bothered re-installing the game but it's great to see how far it's come since launch and it gives me hope for the sequel. If they can get it right straight away then it'll likely be a continued success rather than people drifting in and out between major updates and the playerbase never really remaining consistent.
  2. Pretty funny stuff
  3. It's not about digital games though - it's the price of the indie games in general. Seems that publishers are using the Switch to peddle their old games and charging a massive premium for the privilege that fall slightly under the AAA threshold. Overcooked for instance launched at £13 on Steam and on PSN https://store.playstation.com/en-gb/product/EP4064-CUSA05399_00-OVERCOOKED000000 plus has dropped below a £5 in its time. To release at £30 on the Switch is beyond extortionate. It's not like games like these are being built from the ground up - they are quick-fire ports. I don't know if publishers are exploiting the current lack of titles and are hoping to tap in the pure Nintendo market of one-system players but these games should be priced in the £12-20 region so they are more attractively priced and affordable. It's the indie/family game range which will stem the time between major exclusive releases and if consumers feel they are being ripped off on games that can be bought at a bargain bin rate on other systems and stores; it could see a lot of problems for the console going forward. Nintendo need to bolster their catalogue but having publishers holding them to ransom isn't the best way to do it. This is the problem with Valve, Nintendo, Sony and Microsoft these days - their quality control and Store ethics aren't as strong as they should be and bad games/pricing easily slips through the net. Money first standards second sadly.
  4. Liverpool v Man City in the Champions League
  5. This case was concluded with a fairly lenient sentence http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-43410816
  6. These are old games though that have just been released in threadbare form on the Switch at what is quite a ludicrous pricepoint especially the indie titles. I think it could price a lot of owners out of games on the system. Rocket League can be got on PS4 for £15 as a physical copy, Doom is £12, Minecraft Story is £15 and Payday 2 complete is around £20. The entry pricing is just too much and it's not about being comparable - it's more about getting the best possible deal for games without ultimately getting ripped off. The Payday 2 developers were giving the game away to everyone for free on Steam a few months ago so charging £40 for a watered-down Nintendo version is pretty outrageous really especially as the game is very old. I think they are tapping into the pure Nintendo market and hoping players who wouldn't game on any other system buy into the mainstream games but it's at a ridiculous price for a far lesser version. It's not even remasters; it's old build ports which makes it more crazy. Easy money for publishers and developers and it taps into a market that may have never played the games before but that is savage pricing really.
  7. Thing that is harming Switch is the prices of games I've noticed particularly the indie ones. Not only can these be got at on PC much cheaper; it's also pretty extortionate for non-AAA titles. This is only a handful I've picked out plus a couple of more bigger titles. I was very tempted getting a Switch late last year but dodged it after seeing it would cost £400 with the accessories I wanted but seems the games would also add substantially to the grand total. Payday 2 is £39.99 whereas on Steam you could get the collection in the sale for £8.74 Rocket League is £34.99 but on Steam it can be got as low as £7.49 Minecraft Story mode is £34.99 but in the Steam sale, it regularly drops to £5.74 Rayman Legends £29.99 but on Steam £2.99 Skyrim £41.99 but the enhanced complete edition on Steam is around a tenner at best Overcooked £29.99 but you can get it for under a fiver on PC from numerous places Doom £39.99 but this was £6.66 on Fanatical a few weeks ago Resident Evil Revelations £39.99 but £5.74 on PC usually Binding of Issac Rebirth £29.99 but barely £7.49 on Steam complete
  8. Oh god, I can already tell it's gonna be terrible! They'll probably turn it into a spin-off TV series too. I lasted 3/4 of the way through and it was one of the worst films I've ever seen in a long time. Even Die Hard 2 with all its cheesy lines was ten times better.
  9. 9 times out of ten it's usually the user to blame with incidents like these - they end up downloading malware to their PC which keylog their credentials and most are dumb enough to store their payment information to their account because they are lazy which can prove fatal if their security isn't up to the minimum standard. This has affected a miniscule amount of users so I can't see Epic being at fault. The most common way for this to happen is some shady site or malicious advert offers 'FREE IN-GAME CURRENCY' where you 'sign in with your Epic account to claim your rewards' and once you sign into the fake client or API; your details are given away to the hijackers as easy as that. A lot of users wont be using 2FA and you can even script bots to auto login to these accounts to further save on aggro.
  10. I'm gonna grab it on release I think. Got a bit of money in my Steam wallet and I will probably have finished KCD by then. There isn't much out right now either and hopefully FC5 will keep me entertained for a bit at least. Still not 100% sold on the game but it does seem a good package overall and if it's fun like Far Cry 3, I'll be more than satisfied.
  11. Just seen there's another one coming out next year. After the fifth installment, I am not too confident and it wouldn't surprise me if we see McClane going to Mars to police space Aliens with his zimmerframe! The original was one of my favourite films of all time and I really enjoyed the 3rd. Even the fourth was a decent up to date addition to the series but the last film was a shambles. Hollywood is 90% remakes or reboots now with many classics getting tarnished and I really hope Die Hard doesn't go the same way.
  12. Aston Villa 4-1 Wolves Aston Villa 1-3 QPR Thanks for fucking up my accumulator Villa Oh well, at least Mourinho has come unstuck
  13. Oooooh you're showing off now. FYI my tin opener Robert Dyas and was once on the QVC channel so suck on that
  14. Jesus Dave, my electric tin opener is more powerful than that
  15. I missed a 96% hit on X-Com 2 and was so enraged that I uninstalled the game. After calming down I then had to re-install the whole thing again! Hopefully we'll get some new gameplay videos this month but from what I've seen so far it does look very good and the combat system is slightly more detailed albeit very similar to X-Com. Just hope the campaign has plenty of varied missions.
  16. I'm keeping an eye on this one. Made by the same team that did Shadowrun too. X-com with mechs sounds very intriguing.
  17. I'll take a wild guess that Nuketown will be a pre-order bonus as usual. It was so bad in BO3 that I uninstalled it so I wouldn't have to play on it ever again. Treyarch have some of the best maps in the series such as Summit, Firing Range, WMD, Jungle and Standoff but I wouldn't want them to recycle/remake/re-imagine any - I'd rather have a fresh batch this time around and no sniff of NuketoIVn either. I have a horrible feeling this game will have a Battle Royale map too so COD can keep up the tiring trend and also win back some of the kids that went to Fortnite plus all their trusted cakesocking YouTuber's.
  18. I have all the DLC's but you don't really need any of them as the core free updates make up the meat of the improvements and the DLC usually just adds minor things such as new races or gameplay features that aren't a necessity. Paradox's content policy is rather confusing and complex especially to unfamiliar players as the DLC's can be tied in with the new updates. Many people are enraged by the developers holding back essential gameplay mechanics behind DLC paywalls on games like Europa Universalis IV but with Stellaris it's not half as bad as most mechanics can be used in the base game and the expansions aren't really required but are worthwhile in some respects. Stellaris's expansions worth getting especially at a reduced price in the sale is the Synthetic Dawn pack which adds robotic AI which can be great to play as or against especially as there are story elements also added to the campaign rather than just being a basic generic race. Utopia is the first expansion and that allows for megastructures and more advanced government features - not ideal but adds some extra depth. Apocalypse which is the second major expansion that was just released recently adds space pirates and more end game elements such as planet killing colossus weapons - this stuff is more for the end-game. The DLC is quite pricey and non-essential especially as the 2.0 update which was free, contains the bulk of the new features. Worth picking up in the sale down the line after you've become familiar with the game. The rest of the DLC is fairly minor and surrounds portraits, new races and minor story extras. The total DLC cost is about £35 at full price but that can easily be whittled down to about £27 in the current sale. The base game alone is worth playing as is though and anything else can be experienced in the future.
  19. Jamie Carragher not doing the Scouse stereotype any favours Don't know why these pundits make such stupid mistakes to put their very comfortable and well-paid jobs at risk.
  20. Another 'full house' at the Emirates yesterday
  21. Not only did the thing look like a VHS player but the always online, compulsory Kinect and no pre-owned games was a disaster right off the bat and then the ones that did buy it after the infamous u-turns found out that the console was dreadfully underpowered for its cost and then there were little good games available. Hard to believe this was the follow up to the iconic 360! At least Nintendo have learned from their mistakes whilst Microsoft just keep on making more and more.
  22. The Switch and the PS4 have one thing in common; first party titles for their own in-house developers. Quality and quantity of games matter so much and these consoles have stacks. Doesn't surprise me that Nintendo are thriving so well - the Switch launched with more top games than the Xbox One has mustered in 4 years. This is where Microsoft have struggled throughout and deservedly so after their woeful entry into this generation with a VHS player, Kinect, no devs and needing to throw money around at the likes of Titanfall just in the hope of getting a foothold in something 'exclusive'. They may have the Xbox One X which is complete overkill for gamers and devs but if you've got jack shit games then what's the point and it just proves how desperate and wayward Microsoft have been this gen from start to finish aka now. There's absolutely no point in the XB1 at all really which is a shame as the 360 was a wonderful console. Just goes to show that money can't buy success now matter how much you throw around and if you don't have your own studios you ain't got no games. I hope Nintendo can maintain their quality titles in quantity also, and that they continue to attract developers and other major games in years to come. It's definitely been a very encouraging start.
  23. I think it's supposed to be set between Black Ops 2 and Black Ops 3 which is good. I'm hoping it wont look as cartoony as BO3 did and hopefully there wont be things like specialists either as that was a bit of a downer for me and the campaign was god awful; probably the worst I've played in the series. Treyarch are the only decent devs left that you can trust so I'm sure they'll deliver something half decent regardless but I can't see them ever producing anything like they did with WaW, BO1 and BO2.
