  1. I've only just got round to playing this game after almost a decade and it's one of the best I have ever experienced in a long time. Not sure if anyone else has played it as it's a bit of a hidden gem at a time when COD was dominating gaming and GTA 4 was the biggest game of its kind. The story is incredibly well-written as is the character dialogue. The visuals still hold up today and the gameplay is excellent with some highly immersive combat and scenery destruction. The fictional city is beautiful and driving is decent too. Unlike GTA which is an open-ended sandbox, this is a chapter-based game with fixed missions. It's more linear and shorter but equally it keeps you glued into the story and the missions flowing rather than simply parading around a map of icons at your own pace. It is still open world and you can do where you want and how you want but it's not free roam in the typical sense. I'd definitely recommend picking it up in the Steam Sale on PC as it's tremendous fun that a lot of people may have overlooked due to a wealth of other big games at the time. Here's some screenshots I took
  2. Definitely not a penalty. The defenders foot may have slightly touched the strikers but it didn't seem to impact the shot at all. Completely scuffed it before contact I reckon anyway. In terms of the offside, I don't think this should be given offside either as the margins are merely millimeters Another thing I couldn't stand was the commentator yesterday after the disallowed goal - she said it should give us confidence after it was ruled out but actually things like this with VAR can have a dramatically demoralizing and soul-crushing impact on the team and affected player. Not the first time I've heard this bullshit logic in this tournament.
  3. VAR ruined yet another game last night. Thank god I only watch the football league😎
  4. ReviewTechUSA is another one that I've just remembered. Guy doesn't actually review tech - he just reads IGN each morning and then makes is own video for the day. The funny thing with him is that he often misinterprets articles and when forming his own opinion in a supporting video, he usually get's it so badly wrong and is always too stupid to realise it. A fine example was The Division 2, when after reading some sales figures on PC from a Ubisoft statement which said sales an increased by 6X over since leaving Steam when compared to the original; he assumed it meant that the game sold six times more on the Epic Store and completely forgot uPlay existed which was where 99% of the sales were. He finally deleted the video but it was up for many hours and was a right shit show of misinformation and sheer stupidity.
  5. First is the hardest and best overall for me.
  6. To be fair, Newcastle have already won the league in recent years. Too bad that league was only the Championship😎
  7. Pretty much all the rumours and suspicions were correct. If you don't fancy reading the long article, this is a good watch:-
  8. Ah well remembered😀 I'm tempted to get the 2019 anniversary edition as it's only £25 on CD Keys.
  9. Another interesting read from Kotaku The Human Cost Of Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 KOTAKU.COM One Friday afternoon a few weeks ago, the developers at Treyarch held a happy hour event to welcome the summer interns. There was pizza... How times change - they used to be able to rattle games out within two years pretty comfortably. Activision and the demands of the industry has certainly taken it's toll. Now they have barely a year and a half to make Black Ops 5.
  10. Do it in order I would. Trilogy + Reach and then you have 4 games in one for £20. The original probably hasn't aged as well as Nigella Lawson but it's one of those games that has to be experienced.
  11. Probably😁 I'm happy to spend the cost of a game but I wont stretch to any other form of soulless monetization to it which only really lines pockets rather than benefits the game. Same thing happened with Black Ops 4 - game 'under performed' so instead of enticing more players to the product with assurances and improvements; to mitigate the lost revenue, they simply just monetized it more aggressively instead and held existing owners to ransom. $1 for an operation level instead of playing 45 minutes or buy a gun that costs 75% of what you paid for the main game. Because they are rolling in so much money from secondary revenue streams, that's why so many AAA games are poor, neglected or well below the expected standard these days.
  12. Another game last night decided on a bullshit penalty award. Point blank shot from the Dutch slammed into the body of the Japan defender and the ref awards a penalty for handball. New rules from this month (only implemented to cover up all the bad penalty decisions made in recent months) say that if it's handball in the area intentional or not, it's a penalty no matter what. It wasn't even clear if it struck any part of the defenders arm at all last night but it's getting to the stage players are gonna have to run around with their arms behind their backs or players are going to have to sign players without arms.
  13. I don't have a problem with shareholders and in the gaming industry, I never really considered them until recent years. For me, people that invest in scummy companies who don't need the capital in the first place to make a big return out of horrendous practices such as supply drops can burn. At no point in the past decade did Activision need to make so many shares available - they've just made a company that was worth X billions into a few billions more. The investments that are made in the company plus the money that is received from sales is never truly invested back in the products and even without shareholders, the next game would be easily funded from unit sales regardless. I think a lot of AAA gaming companies are raising unnecessary money that the gamer will never benefit from and the people that support these arseholes in their heinous practices to make easy money rather than support a product are no better. A company worth 10bn just becomes worth 15bn - the gamer doesn't really benefit. It's all about making a quick buck from the perspectives of the publishers and the shareholders and gamers and games are being destroyed for it. COD is probably worth 10X more than what it was a decade ago and that's down to supply drops, not investment in the product or a drastic improvement in quality. I can't blame shareholders lumping in though with gamers being as dumb as they are these days!
  14. Publishers like Activision are under pressure to keep shareholders on board, income thriving and the company value in growth. The minute the value starts declining, shareholders walk away, share price sinks and the value diminishes. BO4 made record breaking money yet they started making cutbacks soon after release. If it wasn't for them publishing Sekiro outside of Asia as a one-off, they would've been in deep shit even after generating huge figures. With supply drops under fire and with no season pass, they are going to have to monetize the absolute fuck out of the game just to come close to BO4. The company as a whole as a tiny portfolio now so this is one of only a few brands that makes money. Base game sales don't even touch the sides and they have to make up all those lost sweet revenue streams somehow. This game will be fine for a week or two and then it'll be a casino. Supply drops, operations, in-game shop plus more.
  15. Very sad news Missing YouTuber Etika's body found WWW.BBC.CO.UK The gamer, who went missing last week, had uploaded a video describing suicidal thoughts. Didn't watch the guy but I saw a sad thing about him a couple of months back and he was clearly in a bad way. Surprised he wasn't hospitalised for a considerable amount of time because he came out still in a poor mental state. Seemed a likable and talented person.
  16. Newcastle may very well regret letting Benitez leave. Just when the club was finally turning a corner they allow that to happen.
  17. Another VAR fiasco this evening in the USA v Spain women's match - penalty awarded in the 69th minute and it didn't get taken until the 75th because of VAR. Foul was committed, penalty was given, everything was eventually set up with the ball on the spot and the keeper ready and then the ref went to consult the video footage which took 2-3 minutes before the penalty was confirmed. Finally converted about 6 minutes after initially awarded. If the video refs gave it, and the penalty was set, why did the match ref then want a second opinion? It further slowed down what was already a slow process. As it stands, I'm expecting nothing less than 10 minutes added on.
  18. This most probably
  19. I watched the whole of the England game and it was painful as a spectacle as VAR ruined what should've been an exciting game. In the end it was entertaining for all the wrong reasons. There were 15 MINUTES of added time because of all the stoppages and 3 red cards that never were even after VAR referrals. The best solution is for matchday officials to get better at their jobs.
  20. Cameroon Women have just had a perfectly good goal ruled out for offside against England. Probably the worst decision ever made on a football pitch. The footage was shown on the big screen and I think everyone in the ground including Phil Neville knows that was a goal. How the hell that's been given offside I don't know. The scorer was in tears and everyone else was in shock. This is nitpicky at its finest Also Cameroon should have been reduced to 10 men...I mean women after a few minutes after blatant elbow to the face. How was a yellow given for that? Should've been two other blatant reds after VAR referrals. This game should be used as the number one example of how fucking flawed VAR is and how fucking useless the officials are at following the rules from incidents that they have been able to watch. What a ridiculous game of football that was.
  21. Great news! The Peacekeeper from BO2 is back and in the game. The bad news is that it's locked behind supply drops😁 People are pissed as usual!
