  1. The footstep audio is a bit hit and miss - it's really authentic in some circumstances especially as the player but can be a bit iffy with the enemies. I think the directional sound is fine but the volume isn't quite as consistent as it should be. At least it's not totally broken like Blackout where you can't even hear vehicles if you have your back to them and can be run over out of the blue!

I played about 30 matches and although I didn't like the mode and probably wont play it again, I think the game shows tremendous promise not just for a Call of Duty title but for an FPS game in general. It's a fine balance between realism and arcade that's enjoyable but takes some skill on top. It took a bit of time to adapt to the controls and find the sweet spot but I finally got there after early frustrations. The presentation is outstanding particularly the animations. Treyarch games of late have become wacky cartoony arena shooters with painfully simplistic mechanics and very basic design that's just overly-rewarding and underwhelming. The Black Ops brand is just a joke now. Just having real weapons with recoil adds so much and removing the tiresome three lane design format of maps will add so much flexibility to playstyles and variety to matches. Zero recoil weapons and three lane MLG map philosophy became so ingrained in the franchise that every COD game was stale soon after launch and aspects like sniping as intended were rendered redundant. It's gonna be nice battling for power positions and weeding out campers again rather than just running up and down lanes hoping to not get shot from behind. It'll also be nice to choose from a variety of weapons types rather than having to pick the usual AR's or SMG's because of the samey map design. MW has so much potential that I hope isn't ruined by Activision's unknown monetisation strategy. IW certainly know what they are doing and what people want.
  3. Users who participated in the alpha can remove the 36gb file from their PS4 HDD as it's now obsolete and will not be connected to the beta.
  4. My biggest concern is the growing wave of users on console who are playing with mouse and keyboard. If they don't find a solution to peripheral-rigging, the input-based crossplay will be rendered useless. There is enough XIM cheaters as it is and games like Rainbow Six Siege have been ruined for it. I ran into a handful during the alpha and it was always going to be an issue without crossplay but running into players like this makes the experience unfair and unplayable.
  5. Yeah, I've been on the receiving end and dished out my fair share of BS I'll admit. There are definitely a lot of the usual COD inconsistencies and many surrounding bullet detection. There's a lot of gameplay moments I didn't record with some truly downright unfair moments. It's really noticeable in this mode too because of the population and scaled down maps. Hopefully things will improve and not be as prominent when it comes to the standard matches.

  7. Another big name at BioWare, Fernando Melo, has also left the studio after 12 years of service. That's a huge blow not really to Anthem but to Dragon Age 4, any new Mass Effect plus what's left of BioWare going forward. You can just see DA4 being some shitty online service with Anthem's horrible engine😂

  13. I remember Generalminus from a decade ago and he is the OG of griefing and teamkilling. This kinda thing is pretty dated now and was saturated come Black Ops 2 as others joined in but his material back in the day was purely iconic and absolutely hilarious. This is my personal favourite:-
  14. Docks map has been added. A nice change of aesthetic but I’m not too keen on the overall map.
  15. Played a few more matches today and still don't like the mode but I think the gameplay in the main multiplayer will be very good indeed. Weapons are fantastic and they feel really good to use. Makes a change from the usual zero recoil fantasy shite that Treyarch give us. I'm still struggling to adapt to the controls especially when turning and mantling so I may have to tweak my sensitivity hopefully not at the expense of my ADS which seems fine. King is probably the only map I enjoy though - Pine has some nasty aesthetics where it's hard to spot enemies and Speedball looks nice but it's too open and predictable off the bat. Two more incoming including a night one.
  16. I believe the event went live earlier this month but nobody cared or realised it happened. EA and BioWare just kept silent rather than drawing attention to it I think after its initial dead reception.
  17. When the alpha is finished, users are instructed to remove the file as the beta one next month will be different. Two key issues so far regarding frame drops on Pine and the film grain setting resetting itself is being investigated apparently. My best score so far is 15-5😎
  18. Some of the ‘issues’ I experienced are down to personal taste so other users may not feel the same. The mode, controls and it looking aged on my original PS4 aren’t things that can be magically patched sadly but someone else may not have issues with these problems. I think my experience will be totally different in the main multiplayer beta though - I just don’t think this mode is very good and the other things I would learn to live with if I got it on my old PS4. I wish there was a practice arena included as that would useful for a change.
  19. Christ this Gunfight mode is fucking terrible. Very hard to get a feel for the game playing this. Maps are too small and there’s nothing very tactical or varied about it. First gen PS4 really showing its age and the controls are clunky as fuck. It’s clearly optimised for mouse and keyboard rather than a pad which is probably why everyone was playing on PC’s during the IW event. A good tip right off the bat is to turn film grain and motion blur off as those retarded effects just put you at a disadvantage. Guns and animations seem very well done but I sure as hell wont be touching this mode if I do get the final game.
