  2. I will never ever use the Epic Store ever. It has less features than Steam did over a decade ago. Fuck all those developers/publishers that sold themselves out for what is essentially Fornite money backhanders. Any company willing to lose sales for the sake of receiving a lump sum up front deserves nothing. Now devs/pubs are beginning to stab their own backers in the back like the Shenmue 3 saga. Epic have moved into this domain so they can keep their company floated highly on the stock market. Once Fortnite money starts drying up, shares prices go down, company value plummets and shares get sold off cheap, so Epic need something to retain their high valuation so the share prices and overall value of the company doesn't decline. The Epic Store and launcher is merely an overnight knee-jerk feature designed solely for this purpose dressed up to pretend it's onside with publishers, developers and gamers. If a game is available elsewhere, I'll buy there or not at all. Steam is the market leader - it may have a higher percentage cut per product sold but the size of the customer base and the amount of features for the sake of a $100 publication fee is quite astonishing for developers and publishers. It's a great platform for gamers with a great UI, community elements, the workshop and with sales. It is the only one to have a fixed refund policy in place. uPlay has also improved massively in recent years with most past problems non-existent. Origin is pretty bad in terms of the interface but they do have some exclusive franchises in there which are popular so if you just wanted to play those, it's worth suffering. Origin Access is also excellent value if you are interested in a handful of EA games. Unlike Steam, you're not going to be spending too much time on there not playing games. As long as it doesn't become one launcher per major publisher, I'm happy to use a handful of established and proven ones. Bethesda already tried it, failed and have come crawling back to Steam and Epic have fucked off a few of their business associates with has seen products been removed. Ideally, I'd prefer to have my games in one place and Steam is ultimately the best across the board which is why Bethesda are back, Bungie are en route and Microsoft are joining the fray along with a few others. Epic can continue to give away as many games as they wish for free but you cannot trump experience, market presence, features and quality that other proven launchers have.
  3. Yep, it's a pretty clean and well-organised format in a familiar template. As long as they don't bloat it with unnecessary features or overly-complicated menus, it should be very user friendly and easy on the eye for everyone.

  8. LG are coming out with a new IPS G-Sync compatible 1440p 144hz HDR monitor which is 1ms finally https://www.lg.com/us/monitors/lg-27GL850-B-gaming-monitor I may grab this is it's nicely priced.
  9. Twitch is also as bent as it gets - he'll have a couple of days off then he will be back and front page as usual. Anyone that violates their ToS or breaks the law just gets a slap on the wrist with them but any small streamers who commit minor infractions that don't bring in by AdRev, they get terminated without notice or right of appeal.
  10. Spec Ops was also confirmed. Anyone remember when Call of Duty used to be centre stage at E3 and the big showpiece event? Now all it can muster is a one hour chitchat session on the sofa after everyone has gone home. Activision not even bothering turning up say's it all really.

  12. They revealed two multiplayer 'screenshots' and that was it! Also the panel raised more concerns if anything - the game is still in pre-alpha apparently and basic questions about crossplay were dodged. This game will probably release badly unfinished and without key features like Infinite Warfare did.
  13. Screenshot with Mr Raymond Tracing in action
  14. Final Fantasy VIII is also being remastered which is a strange decision especially going toe to toe with a remake of 7.
  15. E3 Demo
  16. This is actually one of EA's most publicised games of the show and their flagship title so what we see now is probably as good as it gets. I've followed this game quite a bit and there doesn't really seem to be much excitement from the devs or the community and the big demo looked rather average by today's standards.
  17. I admit I laughed a bit
  18. Infinity Ward will be running a small 'talking' panel later at E3 and speaking about the campaign. Doesn't appear any gameplay or MP info will be showcased. COD's chance to shine at the main show and they've bottled it .
  19. This could be huge - Xbox One and PC (XBGP)
  20. People don't realise that this 8K they're banding around will cost them $$$$ but they may never get to see it in action plus it will slice their framerates. PS4 couldn't even handle 60fps at 1080p in 99% of its games and the Xbox One struggled to hit 1080p in many bog-standard AAA ones so this is a huge leap and total overkill to see who has the biggest penis in the market. Both MS and Sony should really remain grounded and focus on 4K 60fps next gen. I don't think there's any reason for MS to release another system when the 1X has been neglected and is still OTT for console gaming right now. 8K native wont be until 2028 I bet.
  21. The one thing Microsoft must sort out is their file compression on PC. 130gb for Gears of War 4 is a joke PLUS downloading is incredible unreliable on there. People have reported spending all day downloading only to get screwed over at the last minute by a corrupt download or interruption leaving them to start over. I think they were planning on releasing a patch that took it down to 90gb but that much for a two year old game!?

  23. I can only assume that the decline in popularity leaves them no choice but to do a complete refresh of a new game to bring people back. Doing this may actually kill the original off or maybe it'll offer enough differences that both games can sit side by side. It means they can also be paid off once again. A new expansion probably wouldn't have been enough to bring people back or sell enough so a brand new game of a dying brand by rejuvenate it. Having said that, this being Activision Blizzard; I bet it was originally an add-on but they've decided it sell it as new for the ultimate cash grab.
