Remastered to 4K with multiple improvements to visuals as well as refinements to gameplay... This was an extraordinary game back in the day that really propelled the series spanning over 20 years. Shogun was a great introduction but this was the game that really did it for me. It'll be interesting to see if it stands the test of time and can be brought up to date without losing the original feel. 50% off to owners of the original so that's just £12.49 for me!

    Managed to grab a £20 copy of FIFA 21 (PS4 disc) which gives you a free upgrade for the PS5 version - just install the game and then download the free update on top. Not a fan of FIFA these days but the attention to detail and overall presentation is really sublime especially in the lower leagues.

    Lead Gameplay Desginer has left after 8 years of service yesterday. Too bad the actual gameplay in Cyberpunk is over 8 years out of date as it is. 4 months on and still no sign of this game returning to the PS Store. I think they'd be better off taking the hit on the old gen and then trying to reclaim sales through 'Definitive'-type editions down the line. Nobody who refunded £50/£60 will pay that rate if the game does become relisted so their best bet is to develop proper next gen versions try and claim that amount of money 18 months down the line. They will need to overhaul and develop so much that I'm not sure it will even happen. The patches have been slow and mediocre and this has further been hampered by an ongoing ransomware attack. Total shit show.

    Microsoft used to be so innovative and now they are just desperately throwing the money around to get their hands on anything. Their last true project built from the ground up was Kinect I think😂

    Played the PS5 Maiden demo earlier and it was a good experience. Running at 4K 60fps and HDR which was very nice and there are some outstanding texture and detail work. Does feel a lot like Resident Evil 7 in terms of the mechanics but I'm liking the setting and characters. Not sure if I'll pay full whack but I'll definitely pick up the full game sometime down the line.

    Anyone watch this? I manage to catch it now and then and it's a great show - basically contestants are tasked with creating common and legendary weapons from knives, swords, katanas to even scythes and these are then pitted off against each other in a form of strength and durability tests. You get to see how the weapons are crafted and how they would perform in certain situations. Well worth a look and here's a snippet from one of the episodes

    Even winning the League Cup now would feel pretty meaningless unless a top 4 place can be achieved. The players seem disinterested and completely unmotivated right now and if they carry this into the final then it'll be an easy win for City especially with the form they are in.     They launched it in the same week Battlefield 1, Infinite Warfare and Modern Warfare Remastered were released from what I remember. EA completely threw it under the bus. Thankfully Apex reignited Titanfall as a brand and really put Respawn in the spotlight. They seem to be the one studio EA wont meddle with so I hope it stays that way. If Titanfall 3 exists, then it'll be Respawn's call it seems. They did the Star Wars game so there is definitely resources available outside of Apex so a new Titanfall is a strong possibility now.

    60fps makes a huge difference especially for a game like that. I couldn't even get through Bloodborne on the PS4 without feeling sick as the framereate was wobbling around the 25-30 mark and the smoothing was non-existent. There's a few games which are perfectly acceptable at 30fps like God of War, RDR2 and Spider Man but that jump up to 60 is so significant, it's almost a game-changer for console gaming.

    Finally decided to unbox the PS5 as I picked up Demon Souls for £55 the other day. Haven’t played anything just yet and the interface is as shitty as ever from Sony but the controller feels absolutely amazing!

    Sega are making a fair bit but that's mostly through the Total War strategy games. Konami have PES and more importantly Metal Gear Solid. If MIcrosoft snap them up and make MGS an exclusive, it would be a humiliating blow for Sony. Playstation owners are praying for a remaster of the original Metal Gear Solid and even with Kojima gone, the series still has legs especially with the right backing. Sega also have Persona which is major Playstation series along with Yukuza. Microsoft would essentially be tapping into Japan and pulling Sony's pants down in the process. Really hope this doesn't happen.
