  4. 100,000 is an horrific milestone - we were just too slow off the mark to take strong preventative action. The Cheltenham festival should have been postponed along with the Liverpool v Athletico Madrid game. Both those events were responsible for an early surge and a window of action was there to be taken. The most significant one was the amount of overseas people returning to the UK from high-risk places such as Milan and Madrid who weren't tested at either end and nor were they told to isolate. We did get a grip on it through the summer but people became far too relaxed whilst others, especially in the East of England persistently violated any restrictions in place. BLM protests did not help along with the insane numbers at beaches down south. Several politicians have also violated the guidelines they supported which was a huge kick in the teeth. That Scottish SNP one who berated Cummings yet she went up and down the country having taken a test, neglected to isolate and was found to have Covid potentially infected tens. She then claimed Covid impaired her decision making which was the ultimate insult. Thank fuck she has been charged criminally. Labour have been vocal but have offered fuck all in strategic terms - their entire purpose is sit on the fence, point out mistakes after they've happened and then play the hindsight card to make themselves look good. The amount of political point scoring attempts by them through this process has been disgusting and now even the vaccine has gone political with the EU who are clearly still bitter after Brexit. The political landscape in this country is beyond fucked so matter who you follow - they are all a bunch of clueless, dishonest clowns. I've lost count of how many said a second lockdown was an overreaction and not needed and now the same ones area saying we cannot lift the third one anytime soon! The only way out of this would be to take the number of cases down, get everyone vaccinated and then employ strict control and trace methods with enforcement on par with Australia, New Zealand and China. This will no doubt trigger the Piers Corbyn crew of conspiracy theorists and other nutters but it's the only way forward to normality. Thankfully the vaccine roll-out is off to a strong start and the UK currently sits behind Israel in leading the way so whilst other countries in Europe deal with bureaucratic red tape, we can at least set an example in this respect. The good news is the rich continue to get richer especially the mega corporations. Cannot wait to buy my fruit and veg from Amazon and my Newspaper from Facebook in the future.
  5. Still haven't played through Resident Evil 3 yet so I may have to try that soon - I can get it for about £12 but it only being about 5 hours long is a major disappointment especially after the incredible RE2 Remake. There is a concept mod for RE7 which has a classic camera that looks good - would love to see the future games support both perspectives including an over-the-shoulder view.
  6. I would wait a few months because a few new monitors are hitting the market this year which are designed for 4K 144hz gaming which would get the best out of the PS5 for an entire generation. Asus have a new TUF range coming out with these specs including a 28 inch IPS panel, 1ms and HDR one. The VG28UQL1A should be out around June and is supposedly affordable. If you buy anything now you'll end up with a 2K one that will leave your experience dated for the next 7 years or a 4K screen that will hold you back in terms of the potential performance. On both counts you will probably end up buying a new one 3 years. If you get a new PC down the line then you'll be coming right into this level of the market. The monitor market is really jam packed right now with so much choice but they are all largely for 1080p and 2K gaming from the last gen. If you've got a decent amount to burn and are buying into the PS5 and a new PC then it's best to invest in something appropriate that will last many years.
  7. Not surprising really. Whilst I don't believe the £200m he spent (LOL) was all his own signings, they should be doing a lot better than what they are regardless. He had a good first season when they had nothing to lose after being under transfer embargo restrictions but they're actually doing significantly worse since then having spent all that money. Timo Werner cost £47m and he's only bagged one goal in 16 games and that came against the mighty Morecambe in the cup! Lampard has only proven that he's not a big game manager and has struggled against the top 6 sides. It was a too big of a jump for him.

  9. The merchant defeats the purpose of the entire experience of Survival Horror - why bother searching for items and conserving ammo when you can buy shit from a teleporting fat merchant. They'll probably start selling in-game currency for £49.99 too!
  10. Thankfully Microsoft have reversed their decision a day after making it but they essentially increased their Xbox Live prices out of the blue i.e 6 months sub went from £30 to £43. After a backlash, they reverted it back to the regular pricing. Pretty anal move really because the new console and the Live service isn't exactly offering much right now to justify any form of increase and this is on top of the lackluster generation they've just had. Kick in the teeth to gamers who invested in a Series X/S at what is a difficult time with the pandemic yet these multi-billionaires need even more money apparently!?
  11. Another thing that has me worried is the series seems to be drifting away from Science Fiction and heading more towards fantasy. Agree with Lee about it being in first person too - whilst it is immersive, the mechanics aren't solid enough especially in regards to the combat. I think the more traditional 3rd person is way better and would be more suitable here. Resident Evil 7 was a great experience but it felt like I was playing a first person mod of a RE game and it looks the same here. Visuals do look fantastic though.
  12. Looks like they made a mistake and the game is back to £49.99 which is still a lot. The £65 version now contains RE7 which everybody practically has who would buy Village so it's a bit of a silly package. I'll either grab it on an external site where I can get at least 20% off or just wait for a sale. I love Resident Evil but I dunno if I can justify paying full whack.

  14. There is also a demo available on the PS5 now. Game is £64.99 on Steam which is fucking ridiculous though. Not paying next gen prices for a PC game.
  15. Almost 3.5m views in 3 days. AngryJoe also talks about it here
  16. The comparisons really do put things into perspective and the real eye-opener is how much the individual developers exaggerated, mislead or outright lied right the way up to release in regards to certain features. There is also enough content for a part 2! Crowbcat's videos are amazing because he doesn't say anything - it's all raw material gathered from the developers and the community whether visual or verbal. Everything is then laid out to be scrutinised leaving no stone untouched.
  17. What I've noticed in recent years that the previous COD to the current one always has a huge spike in popularity come post-Christmas - more than likely due to people getting fed up with the new one lacking content. People went back to BO4 when MW failed to deliver any worthwhile new MP content and now a lot of Cold War players have gone back to Modern Warfare because it's a complete game now. I bet in 12 months time people will be returning to Cold War over the latest COD😅
  18. I just wish they'd support it properly. I don't play Warzone but every COD MP is pretty much dead in the water come Christmas these days and now developers instead of bolstering that portion of the game and trying to win people back or keep people on board, they (particularly Treyarch) just give up and focus on the BR or seemingly the next title. Free maps was actually one of the worst things to come out of this now because there is no set content timeline or anything consistent to what we got with the paid map pack content. Not only are we getting less maps and material than ever at launch, the staggered release of new stuff and lack of information is causing huge harm. At least with paid map packs the devs were obliged to support the game and we knew what to expect. Core MP is more worthless than COD Mobile now which is tragic.
  19. I'm actually surprised they're bothering with the traditional COD multiplayer these days. Warzone seems to be the developer priority, it brings in the most money and creating/supporting the latest COD game seems to be a burden for all. The money they make from unit sales they could probably claw back through selling cosmetic crap in a couple of months without needing to spend a penny on development or upkeep. If they're gonna persist with the core multiplayer then I wish they'd do it properly.
  20. It’s also destroying the experience for average/casual players but Activision don’t really give a shit about those - it’s all about the sweaty tryhards spending money in-game, creators with their codes and simply giving the game exposure through gameplay garnered against the very foundation and metrics ironically in place. None of this is also considering the artificial factors such as ping manipulation based on performance. This is what happens when you design your game around money first rather than quality.
