  1. PS5 had some bad performance issues too with the game running at sub-30fps and barely averaging above 35. It doesn't suffer from crashing issues but that's still piss poor for a current gen console in 2024. The PC issues are quite frankly unacceptable and a dreadful middle finger to the platform which actually popularised the game in recent years which allowed for a sequel to be commissioned. The microtransaction saga is more of a principle thing so it doesn't really matter whether players need them or not. The first game was also significantly smaller so fast travelling wasn't really required but this one has lots of barren lands on an expansive landscape so to charge for something that should just be included in the game as a free option is just ridiculous. There are already a few games inching towards the £100 mark too and they are loaded with microtransactions and after-launch passes and expansions. GTA 6 will probably be the first base-game that costs post-£100 but that will still have £hundreds more on top. If Dragon's Dogma 2 released in a good state and had no microtransactions then it would be a great game in the vein of the original. Nickel and dime greed and a lousy release has severely ruined it and games like Payday 3 have paid a devastating and irredeemable price for such a thing.
  2. It's pure greed and nothing else and this is reflected in publishers balance sheets. A game like Dragon's Dogshit 2 does not need any microtransactions especially ones where users have to pay £1.99 to create a new character or start a new game. If they deleted the save file locally then they got banned by Denuvo for 'system tampering'. This is an utterly despicable practice. Games like COD and FIFA also have pay to win elements which are reflected in longstanding concept patents in place to drive people to buying the latest bundles and then shadow-nerfing them before a new one is released to move users to the next. Videogame prices have gone up and the quality has gone down. Some games are even built around post-launch monetisation which is why they release in such a shit show. The likes of Activision and EA don't need to recoup costs when they surpass their development costs within a week and then go on to post revenues in the billions per quarter alone. EA just posted a $5.8bn profit for 2023 and most of that was down to microtransactions. Baldurs Gate 3 doesn't have microtransactions and it isn't a pile of broken diarrhoea either - one of the most successful games this century. Multi-billionaires Capcom did not need to sink this low especially when they have worked so hard to become re-established in the last 7years.
  3. Some more Binary Domain
  4. Apparently if you try and start a new game with a new character after deleting your local save file then Denuvo will ban you for system tampering lmao! What an absolute shit show.
  5. Another promising game that's had a miserable launch which will sour it permanently. This time a disgusting amount of microtransactions along with aggressive Denuvo implementation and performance issues. Literally charging $2 just to edit your character! Never got the original despite it's cult success but it just defies belief how companies literally ruin their new game for the sake of greed. It's not like Capcom need the money either and it's a full price bloody game too!
  6. More drama about the England shirts and this time with the flag on the collar. Really not sure why we need an American company to not only produce, but also design our shirts. Surely there is a UK sports manufacturer that could do this? Umbro are surely still in the game. Nike should stick to basketball and selling 40000% marked-up clothing and footwear.
  7. Horrible shirt ruined by the overly-big collar plus the price is £100-125 apparently which is beyond disgusting. Probably cost £3 to make in a Nike sweatshop. These shirts should be £40-50 max.
  8. 1,000,000 sales now Top-tier deckbuilder Balatro hits 1 million sales in less than a month, which hopefully justifies all the hours we've collectively lost to it | PC Gamer WWW.PCGAMER.COM Upping the ante.
  9. FA Cup Quarter Finals were pretty insane this weekend - Wolves 2-3 Coventry, Man City 2-0 Newcastle (yawn) Jammy Chelsea 4-2 Leicester and Man Utd 4-3 Liverpool. Really enjoyed watching all those games minus the City one which I comfortably ignored.
  10. BigFry also did a vid with lots of feedback

  12. Down to 19% now. The game unpacked is apparently over 60gb which is hilarious. Developers couldn't even be bothered to compress their upscaled textures which suggest it was probably done by AI also. Another classic destroyed. Very weird how Aspyr were able to do the Tomb Raider trilogy very well but this one was remarkably low-effort if no effort at all.
  13. 'Probably one of the worst launches of all time': Star Wars: Battlefront Classic Collection players tear into Aspyr for bugs, crashes, and 3 64-player launch servers for nearly 10,000 users | PC Gamer WWW.PCGAMER.COM The Classic Collection was meant to bring balance to Battlefront, not destroy it.
  14. Game has released and it's sitting at just 21% positive right now. Looks like a very low-effort re-release and a very expensive one too. Netcode and input lag issues seem to be the biggest complaint. The modded originals that you could've got anytime for a fiver in the last 15 years look way better.
  15. C&C Collection now added to Steam plus more Now we know why those four Command and Conquer games got a price slash: EA just dropped a bundle of old-time classics on Steam, including virtually every C&C game ever made | PC Gamer WWW.PCGAMER.COM Populous, Sim City 3000, The Saboteur, Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri, and Dungeon Keeper have also made the move to...
  16. Massive success story with half a million copies sold already Poker roguelike sensation Balatro sells more than 500,000 copies in just 10 days | PC Gamer WWW.PCGAMER.COM People sure do like their Balatro.
  17. Would never have expected this. £36 for the trilogy though is quite heavy especially when you could pick up the collection for £5 back in 2014 on PC. Then there's the extensive modding scene which has proven to be essential and so beneficial over the years. I think £6.99 each would've been a far better pricepoint and you can run these games literally on a toaster.
  18. Great news! Pre-purchase Ghost of Tsushima DIRECTOR'S CUT on Steam STORE.STEAMPOWERED.COM A storm is coming. Venture into the complete Ghost of Tsushima DIRECTOR’S CUT on PC; forge your own path through this open-world action adventure and uncover its hidden wonders. Brought to you by...
  19. They certainly enjoy milking DLC - Snowrunner has 4 season passes at £22 each whereas the original Mudrunner had 3 free map DLC's and an expansion that cost £9. Snowrunner is basically a shell and if you wanted the entire experience it would've cost about £105 and even then large parts of the game remain neglected or unfinished. Expeditions seems really watered-down especially coming off the back of Snowrunner and even the OG Mudrunner so it'll probably cost another £90 on top to get all the upcoming DLC's if not even more.
  20. Dishonored is another one that is commonly overlooked probably because most people play in low chaos or just don't make the most of the powers on offer. I certainly am nowhere near good or creative enough to pull off half the stuff in this video but it just goes to show what can be done if you go beneath the surface and really utilise everything on offer.
  21. This game looks a bit downgraded and simplified even compared to Snowrunner. I do like how they’ve done something new with the theme but it all looks a bit unspectacular when compared to lugging some serious cargo in the likes of Spintires and the original Mudrunner. Expeditions looks a bit straightforward and arcadey which is great for newcomers but veterans may be a little put-off. Since Snowrunner, the realism has taken a bit of a knock too and this one looks even more basic so I’m really on the fence but I do like the alternative theme.
