  1. How could we possibly go on this long without this? Now obviously this is gonna be aged based, because I'm sure what I start with some of you younger guys will be saying "whaaaaat"? lol. But some of you older guys (Uber ) will agree. But no matter the age, post what is the best TV/Cable intro you love. A few of mine (yes you whiper snappers from the old days ) And I'm not all old, this is one of my NEW fav shows (and intro) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2j74saGRVoI
  2. I've honestly already made the decision, that's not an issue. Just need whine a bit about it I guess more than anything. Because I think she is one of two girls I have ever thought was nice enough to dream about, and the other one I was engaged too
  3. BTW I'm not asking for approval, just frustrated and need to vent a bit
  4. That's the whole thing there. I think she is just unreal man, but I know if I acted on this I would lose him as a friend in a heartbeat and he's proibably one of the most down to earth good guys I have ever meet in my life, so if I hurt him I'd probably never forgive myself for it God I wish I meet her somewhere else
  5. Come on Tommy...right?
  6. I'm not gonna go into too much detail, but just want to ask a few of you guys here if you have ever been in this situation. A good friend called me tonight, he just broke up with his GF of the past year. I've known him and her for the same amount of time (just over a year) and I wont lie, when I meet them both...I feel in love with this girl. Just fuckin perfect (only no red hair ) but 6ft tall, dark hair, green eyes, full lips, sexy ass neck and beautiful tits and ass, just unreal and awesome looking IMO. You ever meet someone and just all the sudden feel like "holy shit where the hell have you been all my life??" That's how I felt when I meet this girl. It wasn't just how sexy she looked but just in talking to her for 20mins she was just so damn sweet and awesome it was unreal. But I never once did anything because she was my friends GF. Now he calls me tonight, they broke up a few weeks ago. I was being a friend to him tonight and will continue to be, I wont persue this chick even though I swear to God I have seriously dreamed about her for two weeks after we meet (no shit) But man o man it's hard to stay a friend when you feel like you meet the perfect woman.
  7. Yep the white sand I use is actually called "paver sand" grit #20 from Home depot. It costs me $3.49 per 50# bag and is the exaxct same thing as the white sand most pet shops sell for $25 per 20lb bag
  8. Yep white brother. I think the white will reflect the light better since the tank is so deep. Plus white is the natural color for them so I went that route.
  9. Okay...I'm the "old guy" so let me interject some HOPEFULLY wisdom into this thread or not lol. Anyway... First off...I did not read past the first post from Dave, why, I didn't need too do so. Because I see 40 replies, I didn't read them, yet I bet I know EXACTLY what they all say....it was Dave saying to stop the childish stuff and then 40 replies saying sorry Dave didn't mean it. Am I close? Listen, I have ran 3 websites for the past 10 years....been there done that basically, seen/done it all. BUT....get this.....I can tell you with 100% certainly I know what makes a website stand the test of time (hence why my sites are 10+ yrs still to date) and what makes a site last.....members that care/like it. Just like I see most the guys here do, you all for the most part care, so seriosuly lets all stop the kidish BS and "he said/she said" and "here's why this guy left Blah blah fuckin blah"....know what, be a man. Enjoy the site, enjoy the friends, enjoy the outlet Dave has given us. Seriously I'm 42 yrs old, when something happens to me, one of the things (maybe second or third) that I think of is posting it here...why? Because I consider all you guys friends. So I want you all to know what goes on in my life. Guys like Dave, Tommy, Jay, Doc, Adam, even Fracee hell I could go on and on. I even though I have never meet these people in person I still think of you guys to share shit will, if I didn't then I would not even be here. So I'll be the one to say this. Stop all the childish bullshit. We have a great site here where we can all enjoy, Dave provided it to us, at his cost, so lets repay him by at least showing how we like/enjoy it because I bet he would enjoy that. That's all I got to say.
  10. Thanks bud, I really appreciate that
  11. Still a ways to go, still shooting for water/fish by Thanksgiving though, but getting closer every day now. Said panels are now all done. Just have to pick up some "Pond Armor" to seal the whole background with and then I can final install the background and side panels for good. Next job will probably be framing the edges of the tank window with some nice finished wood and getting the "cave lights" hooked up.. Here's the current state of the tank/office. It's amazing that a 7ft long by 31" tall tank can actually look so much smaller in a picture lol Really starting to look forward to getting this up and running now.
  12. Here's the backstory behind this pic My 16 yr old nieces homecoming was last friday, shes a very pretty girl as you can see from this pic from last week... Anyway...after 'Homecoming" she had some people come back with her, and I told my sister I would come over and stick "around" just to see what boys came home with her other than her BF Austin. So I made sure I looked..."Uninviting" I guess. Heres a pic of me that night before I went there So would you as a 16 yr old boy like to speak with me?? lol Needless to say it within 30 mins it was just her and Austin left lol...Game , set, match.
  13. Beard is filling in big time now. Chuck Norris would be envy of it... Will post a pic in a few.
  14. Goof balls.... nothing better than Detroit in Feb, just sayin
  15. Moon lights at night are LED blue. I was orginally leaning white, then thought black....now I was thinking white agin because it's more natural looking for where these fish come from. Now I'm torn again lol. I just want to make sure I pick one and not change because last thing I want to do is change out 200lbs of sand in a 31" deep tank later on I may have to hire the Pool Boy Dave to do that if that's the case
  16. How about some quick input here on which looks better to you guys because I'm having a hard time deciding which way to go with this. I am leaning towards one over the other but lets see what you guys think first. Excuse the rough quickly photoshop job, but you get the idea I'm sure.... Which will look better in your opinions...White sand or black sand??
  17. Detroit FTW woot wooooot!!!
  18. Been working on the side panels and some lighting tonight. This is the first side panel, as you can see from this pic taken from the rear of the side panel I'm building angled "rocks" which will have an opening behind them that will have the intake tube for the filters so it's all concealed with only the strainer of the intake open to the tank. Here's the left side panel carved and the first coat of Drylok applied. The lighting I am doing for this tank since it is an odd size will be four dual T8 48" fixtures mounted side by side and one in front of the other so it lights the entire nice well. I bought two of the fixtures today and currently have them filled with Daylight spectrum 6500k bulbs. Once I pick up two more fixtures and some actinic bulbs each of the fixtures will end up with one actinic and one 6500k in them. Here's a shot with just two of the fixtures lit up.
  19. Rolling along very well now after a ton of work today. two full coats of drylock and a coat of black over that on all three pieces. Then two dry-brushed coats of Drylok to give it the base rock color with black depressions. After that I did some more dry-brushing with dark brown to simulate some dirt, as well as some dark green to simulate some algae. Then dry-brushed some white highlights on all the edges and raised portions to make the rocks look worn so it give it some nice depth to the rocks. Some pics of it mocked up in the tank Also started working on the side panels which will hide the intake tubes for the dual FX5 filters. Once the side panels are done then all that will be left on the background will be to coat it all in Pond Armor 2 part epoxy which seals it to durability and then I can start working on the cave lighting, tank lighting and substrate etc etc. This big background was a lot of work but I'm very pleased with the way this one is coming out.
