  1. Doc...we are close to the same age, so...if what you said was true...you telling me if a kid in 1980 killed himself because of being bullied it would not make the main stream news?? Sorry doc, I always like and agree with you, but that one I do not agree with bud. I remember back in the day everything was broadcast. I remember news stories from states and people I never thought of back when I was a kid. No biggie but I just don't agree I guess.
  2. Well....I do like Gerald Butler a lot, IF someone is gonna play Swayze's role he would be a good choice....but still, no, just NO. Have they said who would play Reeves role?
  3. Sennex if you don't mind me asking, what sort of autism does your Son have? because I personally never knew that there were actually different types of autism till I meet my friend Jenna about a year ago, and she says she has "high functioning autism" but I really never knew she had it till she said it. So I never knew there were different levels/type of it. I also agree with Adam, when I read that "fix it" that just blew my mind. How do they think they can "fix" autism?!
  4. NOOOOOOOOO say it ain't so! Patrick Swayze will be rolling over in his grave! I can't believe they are redoing that, point break was the original Bromance movie
  5. I think he's putting the weight back on again isn't he? Because I saw a pic of him about a month ago and he looked like he had put back on at least 40lbs or more.
  6. I totally agree Cal. The majority of remakes usually fail pretty badly because they are taking something that people saw earlier in their lives and enjoyed and they are redoing it which takes away from the enjoyment for a couple reasons. 1- If you enjoyed it as a kid or earlier in life then even if you say you wont compare it to the original, you know damn well that you can't help but to do so, and originals are almost always the best because it is brand new to you. 2- There are just flat out certain movies that SHOULD NOT BE FUCKED WITH. Couple that come to mind that should not be / shouldn't have been messed with.... Star Wars, Rocky, ET, Red Dawn, Robo Cop, Mad Max, The Goonies, Karate Kid, Top Gun, Predator, Footlose, Rambo, Terminator, Gone with the wind, Casablanca, Taxi driver, Scarface, Platoon... Those are movies that were big in the day and to anyone that grew up during that time they are classic you just don't fuck with. I think Hollywood needs to stop taking what they view as the easy way out (remakes) and do what they should be doing and come up with new movie ideas rather than use the script from an existing movie and just switch it up a bit to try to cash in on an easy dollar.
  7. I understand, but that's also my point though to a certain extent. My point was that back when I was younger kids were bullied as well back then, but they never tried to kill themselves or hurt themselves in any way. And that's what I am getting at. I don't mean this in an ill manner or to insult you or anyone else Dattebayo because you know I like you your a pretty good dude so please don't take this the wrong way but I just don't know how else to say this than to just say it like this.... These days it seems kids that are bullied just automatically hang their head in shame and get all emotional and depressed and then start doing things like cutting themselves or trying to kill themselves. Back when I was a kid it someone bullied you then you didn't get all emotional and depressed, you called that F'er out and you had a fight and kicked his ass and normally that would be the last time he would bother you after that. And if he ended up kicking your ass then usually he would still stop bothering you because even though you lost you earned his respect for standing up to him. I am not advocating violence, and I know some people will disagree with me on this and that is fine, but I just feel that society today with all it's good intentions about raising kids to be a certain way is actually having the reverse effect and it is turning some kids into meek depressed kids that have no self value and no inner strength and that in turn creates problems like wanting to kill yourself at 11 yrs old. Like I said I know some people wont agree with me, but there's a time when standing up for yourself and kicking some ass does a world of good. I'll get off my soap box now
  8. No problem, we don't agree on the kids with phones thing, no biggie. My thoughts on that though would be if it's for safety reasons then get a prepaid phone and it solves that issue. I just don't think a kid 11-14 years old needs a phone. My sister let my Niece have one when she was 12 yrs old, she pays almost $100 per month for her to have the phone. She said it was for safety too, but yet what it boils down to is she is paying $100 per month so my niece can text every 15 seconds because that's all she does. I just don't agree with kids that young needing a phone, but again that's just me. Far as the suicide thing- I believe it didn't happen as much in the past though as being true because of a few reasons. News has always been out there, back in the 70's-80's when I was growing up there was basically just three UHF channels and two VHF channels on TV (no cable) so there may not have been as many outlets for news, but because of that fact anything that was actual "news" such as a kid killing themselves due to being bullied surly would have been on the news when it happened. Plus you hear more of this sort of thing even in local schools here now. My niece knows a couple girls that are "cutters" because they have problems dealing with things. We never had kids cutting themselves back years ago. So I do believe that this suicide and cutting and all this stuff is mostly more prevalent in the past 10-15 years than it ever was back 20-30 yrs ago.
  9. True...which is why the parents need to be doing their job and monitoring what is going on in their kids lives IMO. Most of these kids now a days that are being bullied or doing the bullying are 11-14 yrs old. At that age they really have no need for a cell phone yet IMO, and personally I would not let my 11-14 yr old use social media till they were a bit older, or if they did then I would oversee what they are posting/receiving. So I would say if people want to stop this bullying/suicide nonsense then it needs to start with the parents.
  10. I think it's sad that people feel the need to pick on someone else just because they don't agree or understand what they person likes. I myself don't get the fascination teen boys have with the my little pony thing these days, but hell it's better that they like that than something that is not good for them so it's not my place to tell them what to like. I'm sure teen boys wouldn't like some of the stuff I am into so who has the right to stand in judgment of another? Didn't strokes for different folks is my opinion. On the flip side though...I just don't get the whole "I got bullied so I'm gonna kill myself" mentality either, why is that the big thing these days? When I was in school if someone bullied you then you simply meet them out in the back of the school yard after school and settled it then and there. Why is it that a kids first thought these days is I got bullied so I'll show him, I'll kill myself. I don't understand that.
  11. Totally agree. Personally I think people these days have lost sight of what life really is about. They feel they need to constantly be "plugged in" to something and that it somehow makes their life better. When in fact they are missing out on life because they are constantly plugged in. You can't enjoy life when you are a slave to your electronic devices. Kind'a like Ferris Bueller's famous line..... “Life moves pretty fast. If you don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.” Personally I have moved in the opposite direction myself over the years. I had a cell phone back around 2000-2003 (back when the only thing you could do was call someone and play "snake" on it for a game) but I ditched it about 10 years ago and you couldn't pay me to have a cell phone these days. I no longer use social media except for once in a very VERY great while, I only use the computer about 25% of the time I use too, pretty much have cut out a lot of the stuff like that and I'm a happier person for it.
  12. I saw about 30 mins of the first one and turned it to something else, just not my style of what I consider humor. I just simply don't get into what the younger people these days consider funny, it's just too in your face obvious slap-stick type of humor which takes all the thought and wit out of what humor should be IMO. Johna Hill, Will ferrell, Ben Stiller, Zach Galifianakis, Steve Carell ...I just don't think any of them that people say are so funny these days are actually funny in the least bit. But that's just me, everyone enjoys different things. I agree that Jonah Hill is talentless though. The only thing I think he was decent in was Money Ball. I'm sure I will sound old but Comedic actors like John Candy, Bill Murry, Gene Wilder & Richard Pryor, Tom Hanks, Chevy Chase...those were talented funny actors. Actors now a days just try too rely to much on blatant toilet humor which you can see coming a mile away. Sorry Dave, not tryin to be a dick because I know how much you loved the first one, just not my taste is all
  13. Yeah I can totally understand that, but how about you and the wife taking him someone yourselves just the three of you? Perhaps Disney isn't an option for you right now but is there somewhere somewhat locally he has been wanting to go, maybe a family weekend trip together somewhere would be in order.
  14. Don't view it as that. View it as you protected your Son from a trip where he would not have received the proper care/attention that he needed. Your actions show a good Father, not someone whom denied him something.
  15. I'm a big Liam Neeson fan and I've liked all his movies every since Next of Kin back in the 80's. His latest one coming out looks to be another good one!
  16. For once I am going to agree with Adam To put it short and to the point- Any "drinking game" leads to more than normal amounts of alcohol consumed in less than a normal amount of time. Too much alcohol in too short of time leads to bad choices which a person would not normally make if they were thinking clearly.
  17. He could actually get up to 12". Most aquarium raised ones get between 8"-12" but since he will be in such a big tank when it's done, plus he eats very well, I expect him to probably grow another inch or two before he is as big as he will get.
  18. Thanks, that's a 10" male Venustus (I call him Big Vern lol) He's actually going to be going into the 265g office tank soon as it's ready. Sure man go right ahead and post some pics would love to see some of yours.
  19. Did a little rearranging this evening and added a few fish to one of the 55g tanks upstairs in the computer room.. . . .
  20. Yeah no kidding, and you would avoid all them damn ebay seller fees. I HATE how ebay rips you off on seller fees, final auction value, insertion fees, paypal fees That's the worse thing about selling on ebay...it's a monopoly and they know it.
  21. Just some more pics. First off one of my fish (Mbamba Bay female) spawned and had around 35 fry . . Then here are some of the fish I have in holding tanks waiting for the big office tank to finish being resealed and filled with water so they can go in there. . .
  22. I do a good amount of buying and selling on ebay. Right now I have 832 feedbacks all 100% positive. It's not hard at all, listing something is a simple process. You may find some people that are hesitant to buy from someone that has no feedback score yet though. If you have been a buyer though you probably have at least "some" feedback though right?
  23. It actually took me about 30 seconds of watching that Daniel Craig one to figure out what the deal was with it, then I finally noticed LOL
  24. Just heard it. Personally I was not a fan of his acting, but I always hate to hear when someone loses their battle with addiction.
