About half way done with it but got tied up lately with rod work, cleaning the rest of the basement, family B-days and all sorts of stuff so haven't finished it yet.

You guys wouldn't believe me if I told you. You know how much of a HUGE fisherman I am, I wade rivers all the time, love being on rivers and fishing and just being out on the water in my boat or wading etc etc. I have a fear of water, no BS I'm serious. I think it comes from the fact that when I was a little kid and my dad tried to teach my sister and I to swim I would always take my fishing rod and fish rather than learn to swim, so now I can't swim for shit these days. I love the water and wade all the time, but once I get about waist deep wading it freeks me out so that's as deep as I wade. Had that my whole life, I don't even like to get water in my eyes when I shower. Yet I spend half my life on the water I know, weird lol. Me being scared of water is like a pilot being afraid of heights

I thought I had a new thread for my tanks since the site upgrade but I guess I didn;t, so I'll start a new one now. Just picked up a breeding group of 5 of these guys last week. They are a somewhat rare fish in the hobby called White Knight Alhi's. Pics can not do them justice because they have a unreal iridescence to them that just does not come through in pics like in person. I've seen these fish sell for as much as over $100 each, I picked up five of them for $70 from some fellow club members

Sorry for your lose of your friend Huly. It's hard to lose a pet that you are close too, after awhile they aren't "just" a pet, they are family and losing them hurts just like the loss of a close friend. I've got three cats myself, they can be just as good a friend as a dog can IMO. I've also had to put three cats down in the past 10 years. One was 17 and the other two were 18yrs old (indoor cats) and it sucks every time you lose one for whatever reason the loss is. Domestic cats are really at the mercy of their enviornment though when let outside, there's just so much that can happen to them that is beyond our control. Sounds like you really loved Howie though, she certianlly was a pretty Saimese.

Just seeing this Tommy. Okay, well. Hard to just link without saying why, but I'll try. I had a low point in my life back in my mid 20's, I drank a lot and had a hard time with life, this song was one I listened to every night because I was in such a low state and my girlfrind back then hated this song because of that. Now a days I like it, because it when I hear it it shows me how I have changed so much. No other songs has as much meaning for me now.

You know what bud, that may be true. I never really thought of that. I have known he's having issues dealing with it still even today, but I never really even though that maybe what we use to do reminds him of times with her. That's actually a good point I never thought of.

Good topic brother. Being a man to me... Keep your word. If you say you are going to do something, do it. Be there for your family. Me personally, I have foregone things I want so I could buy/loan/give money to my family. Do what you need to do for family no matter what IMO even if it hurts you personally, and never let them know it hurt you IMO. Admit when your wrong. I know many guys that will never admit they are wrong. My opinion, if I am wrong, I will admit it. A man will always admit when he is wrong. Help people, don't be smug or holier than thou. Lastly...just try to help people. Trust me I am NOT a people person lol. Every test I take tells me I am an "introvert" and I honestly do not like people. All my hobbies prove that (Bonsai, fish keeping, fly tying, rod building) all solitarie hobbies,yet, if someone needs help/advice, no matter what I will be there to help them, just ask guys here. I could add more but I think that covers most IMO. Oh...and a beard!

When his wife died I went out of my way and drove 70 miles to be with him at the furneral home. Not trying to say "I did this" or anything, but just to tell ya what happend and why I feel how I do. Anyway, I did that, I was there for him, I cried with him and was there for him that day. That was March. In June we had a falling out. He wanted me to build a rod for his new girlfrind. He started this online dating shit not even 2 months after Deb (his wife) died, that really bothered me. Anyway, he wanted me to build a rod for his new online woman I told him I would but postponed him, we got into some words, and did not talk from June till Septeber (that was 2012) Late sept I called him because we had to good a frienship to let it pass. So I was the one that manned up and dropped dime. We spoke maybe once every 2 months since then. Now the last time we talked was early June and we said "lets get together when I'm on vacation in July". That was over 3 months ago.
