  1. Read the OP dumbass
  2. Yep. I was just thinking about this the other day. CoD used to be a military shooter with *some* degree of realism, but it's just evolved into an arena shooter with loads of kids shit. I don't mind though, I just wish we could have a proper one again, with ghillies and stuff.
  3. I don't know about the DZ, but I was doing a mission the other day and lost connection half way through, I reconnected and was in the same mission, everything was saved - health bars, corpse locations, the lot. I suspect that as the DZ is a "live" zone it'll be the same too. I doubt it Bob, although I did notice during the beta that there are some areas which only have one exit, presumably these were added for that very reason. Plus if you're rolling with a team you can always ask your team to defend you while you go squeeze one out.
  4. Just to clarify, I wasn't referring to anyone from here with my post, but rather what I've been reading on Reddit and other forums.
  5. No sir, if you walk in to the DZ and get killed before you loot anything, you lose nothing. I'd like to see PVP geared perks on DZ gear and PVE geared perks on everything else.
  6. I'm already reading loads of complaints about it from the usual "I just want to go in and get loot and leave" crowd and this irritates me. There will be other means of getting high end gear, such as crafting, hard mode missions, lucky drops, and hopefully raids. There are enough risk-free ways of getting gear, I sincerely hope that Ubisoft doesn't cater to these people and leaves the DZ as it is. It's a high risk area where you have to be on your toes and risk all your gear in order to get better stuff, and this is a brilliant concept. What loads of people seem to be forgetting is that you can only lose what you pick up that session. Everything you have on you when you enter is 100% safe, people can not take that. You can not lose XP that you gained outside of the DZ, you can not lose cash that you got outside of the DZ and you can not lose gear that you got outside of the DZ. The same applies to sessions. If you extract something, that's it, it's yours forever. You can not lose it next time you go in to the DZ, so the only stuff you can lose is what you gained that session. It irritates me that people are wanting Ubisoft to tweak the DZ into a cuddly friendly place where we can all dance together and get loads of free loot. There is enough content outside of the DZ to keep people busy, so can they kindly keep their hands off the DZ? I love it. I love that excitement of getting something nice, the tension of defending it until extraction, extracting it, and the relief of finally seeing that heli take it away. It's a tense and exciting area and that's exactly what it should be. /Rant over.
  7. So far I'm loving it but that was to be expected. The first few levels were pretty tough but once you start unlocking weapon mods and other stuff you can really feel your character grow stronger. I'm currently level 9, died a few times but nothing too major. I've had missions where I just face rolled through them and missions which required a very slow approach which is nice, if a mission is too hard I can simply leave it and come back later. The amount of content is astonishing. Apart from the main quest lines you have side quests, encounters, and random stuff. Then there's the secondary stuff like phone recordings, crashed drones, echoes, missing agents, little boxes of loot everywhere, a crafting system, and more. I must admit I'm genuinely surprised at how much there is. I ventured in to the DZ at level 6 and walked out with sixteen new arse holes so I'll give that a miss until later on. It's not without fault however, the laptop activation thing was a pain for many, people standing in doorways, that kind of thing. One bug which irritated me was when Cripspee was stuck on the hospital mission I joined his party but ended up on the other side of the world and couldn't fast travel (didn't think to try fast travelling to the mission itself however, will have to check that out). Another small thing which drives me up the fucking wall is the speech. Being in a difficult fight means having to take it slow, and having a JTF dude standing next to you repeating the same four words every ten seconds made me want to rip his throat out. Other than that I'm loving it. It's beautiful, there's loads to do, PVE, PVP, solo play, Co op play, it's all there. I'll have to see how long it lasts as I will probably have minced through all the content in a week or so but if Ubisoft keep on top of the bugs and don't tweak the guns every time you blink I can see myself sinking some considerable hours in to this game.
  8. Damn, this is awful news. Dizzy was always one of those people who would never hesitate to help with anything and was always polite, a true gentleman. My heart is with his family and friends at this horrible time, rest in peace big man
  9. I wouldn't touch Asus ROG stuff with a barge pole again. I bought the ROG Swift when it came out, it had backlight bleed, loads of dead pixels and a wonky stand. The way Asus saw it I paid and that was that. Luckily we're covered by law here so I just sent it back to the supplier and got my cash back. Their service was enough to put me off for life (this is also a common trend with Asus, sadly I wasn't a one off). Don't get me wrong, it was an absolute beast of a monitor and I did try everything to get it right but their lack of interest just shut that door for me for life. Maybe Murica is different, dunno.
  10. The one I posted is an i5 (double check the names, one letter or number out can be a completely different laptop).
  11. Can't you hook it up to another system and use that OS? Or make a Linux USB and boot off that.
  12. Acer Aspire V3-574G Decent CPU, dedicated graphics, eight gigglybites, 1080p screen, good build quality and Acer's legendary warranty / after sales service. In real money it's £570 at the moment which is a shade under $1200NZD. Anything cheaper than that will be a MASSIVE downgrade, you'll probably lose the dedicated graphics for a start. I don't know if you have deal sites like Hotukdeals or cashback sites like Topcashback over there but it's worth looking around. Also look for places where you can trade in an old laptop, they usually knock a bit off the price if you give them a used junker, if you don't have one, find a used one for cheap and use it to benefit from the trade in. I don't know what NZ is like for tech but in South Africa you pay out your arse for it as it takes a million liters more fuel to get it there in the first place. Lemme know if this isn't suitable and I'll find something else.
  13. I can't believe you guys fixed it. That's disappointing. I would've loved to see James in a straight jacket licking a spoon.
  14. I still play it but to be honest the inconsistent connections has fucked me off to the point I don't really want to play any more. Having a match where I'm tearing people up doesn't feel good because I know that on the other side of the connection they're probably suffering big time. Likewise it sucks balls being on the receiving end. I'd say for me games are split between 40% decent connection, 30% favourable connection and 30% GTFO connection. What irritates me the most is that at 10pm-ish every single night without fail the game somehow fucks up and it's lag central. Before then it's ass kicking time. Knowing that the potential for stable connections is there but is being withheld from us is what does it for me. I personally think that after Ghosts and AW lost a lot of the fan base so soon after release, Activision decided to run this one with much less server capacity as too much capacity would be wasted, then Treyarch actually made a good cod for once and Activision didn't allow them to upgrade the server capacity so we're spreading it around a bit. Sometimes you get a decent server connection, sometimes you get a shitty host-based connection which probably connects us to Juan in Mexico who then promptly shits all over us and sometimes Juan in Mexico connects to us, and we shit all over him. Fuck all consistency. That said, I really like this COD, I've had an absolute blast playing it and SnD will Euanisapoof and the rest will keep drawing me back, but solo play is off the table. It's just not worth the frustration. Don't even get me started on the cheap fucks that the community contains though. Cunts, the lot of 'em.
  15. Hmm. Might give this a go but wit Division coming out it won't get much playtime. I played the beta years ago for my youtube channel and remember it was pretty decent.
  16. I like the front. I like the Bugatti semi-circle integrated in to the side. I think the interior is shockingly poor for this kind of money. The centre console is a row of buttons ffs. Where am I going to put my Chopard De Rigo Vision Sunglasses? Where am I going to put my coffee? The arse is naff as fuck. It's basically a framework covered in mesh which although is light and probably has the drag coefficient of a fly, is still a framework covered in mesh. I'm with Rob. I prefer the Veyron.
  17. Nope, only next match. Oddly it happened twice last night, both times on the same map.
  18. One step closer to PC master race really. Bout fucking time.
  19. Just to quickly hop in and save the day!
  20. So who's getting it then? We're exactly a week away, it comes out on Tuesday and as it happens, I have that day off, yay me. Let's hear it, let's go spank some shit and slaughter noobs
  21. This is brutal. Fuck knows what happened but watch this vid from 11:20 to see what I meant. Also, as a bonus, there's a nice little triple kill at the 00:40 mark
  22. I do t think Lee has enough brownie points to go bidding on stuff for a little while Dave
  23. I still don't know who put that there. I think either Bartacus or Christy. Bout time I had a new one though. Hint hint
