Shop option isn't even there. This is textbook Blizzard tbh. They won't open another one for Alliance, I'll be very surprised to see one, and even then it'll be to transfer Horde off the server, or Alliance on to the server, to try and balance the mess they made.

Obviously none of you are noob enough to be up to speed on this story but it's currently taking place and as we were all on the forefront of the whole thing, it's close to home so is most certainly worth sharing. Basically Flamelash is a PVP server, the one we played on. @Middle Class Caveman, @Misneach_, @J&B, @GazzaGarratt, we were all on this. When we joined it was a 60/40 Horde server, with the Horde gaining more members over time, and the Alliance not so. Before I continue this story, let me touch on the PVP system in World of Warcraft. Killing enemy players awards Honorable Kills, which in turn reward Honor Points, and Rank points. Honor points are of course a currency, however the items that can be bought using this currency ranks in Tiers. You start at T1, and make oyur way to T14. It's a very complicated system however, so all I'll say is that you're competing against your own faction for whoever has the most kills, and only the top players are awarded the higher ranks. This is where the images of people with buckets of shit under their chairs come from, because it basically boils down to whoever has the most time, plain and simple. People take months off work for this shit, it's crazy. Now, that said, none of this was implemented when we started playing. That means that whilst we could kill each other, there was zero gain from doing it. No honor, no ranks, no cash, no money, no fuck all. We were getting constantly killed by players 20+ levels higher than us, and generally in groups. It was fast becoming the most inhospitable server in the whole of WoW. Then Blizzard released what we call Phase 2, which is when the Honor system went live, and it basically became a complete and utter wankfest of a bloodbath. When I say it was impossible to play, you couldn't walk more than 100 yards without being killed and having the Horde corpse-camp you to the point that I had multiple characters all over the game world so when I was corpse camped I could log on to a different character to wait for the Horde to lose interested and move on. Blizzard eventually stepped in to try some damage control and eventually gave all Alliance players a free character migration to different servers. Pretty much the entire server upped and left, leaving the Horde with nobody to fight. The server, as it currently stands, is dead as a doornail. It's becoming a bit of a famous thing in the gaming world and people are fascinated by it. I just logged on now, and counted all the players on Alliance. You can search for players using various parameters, which you can see below: Here we have the players from level 1 to level 39. I have discounted all the level 1 players as they're all tourists who have logged on to this server just to see it for themselves: So 49 players, minus the 15 level 1s leaves 34 players. Next I did from 31-59: So 34 players + 45 players = 79 so far. Then the max level of 60: So 79 + 13 = 92 players. That's 92 players on an entire Alliance side of what was one of the busiest WoW servers in the whole EU region. For comparison, I took these screenshots a few minutes ago. This is between the bank and auction house in Ironforge, arguably the busiest hotspot on any Alliance server. This is our current server: And this is Flamelash: Keep in mind that there is only one player on this screenshot who isn't a level 1 tourist, the rest are all visiting to witness an event which we're all gonna be reading about in a few years' time. I suspect it'll be called the Flamelash Exodus. Here's a screenshot of the WoW Flamelash forum: If you search for Flamelash on Youtube, this is the result: As you can see, these events are widely known all over the world at the moment. I'm personally glad we left ages ago, I couldn't even begin to imagine what a clusterfuck it must be right now to try find even a 5 man group. There's a whole element of the way ex-Flamelash players are being treated on their new servers too, so I'm sort of glad I transferred when I did so I avoided all that bollocks too. Interesting times in the WoW universe, that's for sure. Let's see what Blizzard does to fix this!

It'll be the PSU. It's old, it won't even be close to peak efficiency any more. Doesn't mater, just means you need to consider it. Like driving an old car, it'll still work fine, but it won't hit the same MPG as when it was new. You subbed yet?

Yes, but only for the retail version which sucks balls. Seriously, it’s wank. Completely fucked. Classic is where it’s at, but there’s no trial. It only costs a sub however, whereas retail also requires an initial purchase. If you decide to give it a go for a month (highly recommended), you’ll need to decide if you want NA or EU as you can only pick one. EU will allow you to play with us, but the times will be fucked (which becomes much more relevant at endgame with raids n stuff). If you do NA you’ll have no friends but the times will be good. The community is super friendly, the ying to LoL’s yang. You’ll be in a guild in no time. If you play on EU, you’ll want to be on the same server as us, and Alliance side. hit me up if you wanna give it a go, happy to help out with shit 🙂

Sigh. I got excited for a bit, until I saw that Sundial thing, which let's be honest is just gonna be another copy & paste horde event. The mp map is another copy & paste job too. I've fallen out of love with the game. I hope I get it back, but I can confidently say it'll take one hell of a change for it to happen. Something genuinely different. The game plays it far too safe, the classes are all too similar, not enough variation in content. I want a character that transforms in to other shit. One that can heal team mates. Not "here's a little ball, stand in it", I mean actual heals. Like Mercy, or even my priest in WoW. I want legit mechanics in fights, stuff that makes your character needed and wanted. Atm you can have any three random characters in any strike and kick ass. I want tanking to be actual tanking. Much as I loved the game, wow killed it. Comparing the two is like comparing a bicycle to a Veyron. They'll both get you from A to B, and you'll probably enjoy doing it, but the Veyron is in a whole different league. Wow kills everything, but that's me. Cod is on par though, so there's that at least.

I need to take a week off work and just dedicate it to campaigns. I could probably count on one hand the amount of campaigns I've done in my life, in fact here are a few off the top of my head: Half Life games Wolfenstein (the one Leigh bought me, New Order?) The STALKER games (Leigh still needs to play these, in fact I need to start forcing him to play them, only to hear him shit himself in the scarier areas of the zone) Horizon: Zero Dawn Bulletstorm The Warcraft games Starcraft games Yes, I'm a Blizzard fanboi, bite me. Never finished a corrodooty ever. Every time I start a campaign my mates are all playing MP and I hear them lolling and giggling and having a gay old time so I quit the campaign for a session of moaning and ranting instead, golden times. I need to do this Corrodooty campaign though, and Tittenfell 2. Any other recommendations?

Depends on what you're asking for. If for visa purposes, you can apply for a Shengen Visa (many countries issue these by default, but be sure to check). With a Shengen visa you can travel anywhere in the EU provided: 1: The visa is valid. 2: The issuing country is the first country you visit from outside the EU. So if Spain issues the visa, you MUST land in Spain is the first port from the States, any other country will reject you. If however it's for time purposes, I'd find a way to work around it. The queues at these airports are generally very quick, my wife is on an African passport and if she can get through customs in less than 30 mins, I'm sure you guys can too. Even if it's an hour, the ability to see a whole different country for only an hour of your time is well worth it, especially given the distance you guys are travelling and the costs involved. Basically ask yourself this: When will you guys get this opportunity again? Suck it up buttercup, a few days in Lisbon is a fantastic opportunity. Make it happen chief.

Welcome to the forum, we're the Old Guarde here, whilst all the cool kids are Twittering and Toktikki'ing and Dicsording we're still soldiering on with forums as they're the best way to communicate without having to be the center of attention all the time. If you're going to give WoW Classic a go, make sure you join on Nethergarde Keep (Alliance side) so you can roll with us. We're only a handful at the moment but it's great fun. We're slowly convincing all the console plebs to join us, just takes time as they are quite resistant.
